78 Inheritor's Inheritance
—-
Scar’s proud exclamation shook the entire room as his booming voice rattled Kieran’s eardrums, causing him to cover his ears. The door leading to the inner area of Scar’s residence was blown open with great force as Scar appeared with an animated expression.
He patted Kieran’s back hard enough that it echoed throughout the halls. But, unlike when Kieran first took on his test, Kieran’s Health didn’t decrease, and his body seemed somewhat resistant to the impact, which Kieran was pleasantly surprised by.
‘Is this the effect of already having two points in the Hidden Attribute Constitution? If that’s the case, then the true reward of this class should be some type of monstrous physique if the earliest level gives a superior constitution,’ Kieran thought while giving Scar a pained smile.
“Oi, come on now, Scar. Ease up there. I’m still a normal human; I’m not at your level yet,” Kieran remarked while rubbing his shoulder to ease some of the soreness. Although he was resistant, Scar’s raw power wasn’t something Kieran could completely neutralize no matter how powerful the materials used to forge his body was.
“It’s achievable, though, so don’t sell yourself short, twerp. You’ve officially become my successor, and I think that’s an event worth celebrating. I can put through hellish evaluations,” Scar said with a cheeky grin and a maddened glint in his eyes.
‘Oh dear lord,’ Kieran inwardly commented while faintly shaking his head. Kieran couldn’t imagine what the word hellish entailed by Scar’s standards. Surely it wouldn’t be worse than fighting against a demon with temporary power, right?
“Fine, fine. Since you’ve accomplished everything beautifully… shouldn’t I properly reward you?” Scar waved his hand, and a flash of light appeared, summoning a medium-sized chest of surprising weight. The entire floor shook when it landed on the ground despite its initial appearance being only a few centimeters above the surface.
However, what made Kieran’s eyes widen was the fact he had seen this type of chest once before. The brilliant inscriptions and the resplendent crystals used to forge the chest indicated that it was at least at the Legendary Grade. Kieran felt as if he was experiencing too many shocks.
But, given that Scar’s status existed amongst the highest echelon of Xenith, it was only fitting that his personal storage was at least this grade.
A desire to acquire a storage item of this ranking overwhelmed Kieran. Since he possessed a game interface, the presence of that item would only improve the number of finite slots present inside in inventory. As of right now, since all players possessed the most rudimentary equipment, Kieran’s inventory only accommodated 50 slots per individualized tab.
For convenience, those tabs were separated into Equipment, Consumables, Materials, and Special Items. The Special tab could include all irregular items except those that explicitly announced their inability to be placed inside an average inventory.
From what Kieran remembered having a personal chest of the Legendary Grade could improve each tab’s space by as much as 2,000 slots! It was a fantastic tool for carrying spoils of war in times of great conflict.
Once Scar summoned the chest, its lid slowly opened and revealed what seemed to be an entirely different space with how expansive it appeared. Scar closed his eyes and sensed through countless items before casually snapping his fingers.
A few items appeared from the chest before it vanished altogether. One of the items was a small pouch with an aged exterior and a drawstring made of animal hide. The engorged appearance and subtle metallic noise made Kieran assume it held coins of some sort. The second item was a decent-sized wooden box that landed perfectly before Kieran’s feet.
The last item seemed like a rune stone with obscure writing that exuded pure carnage.-.
“These should suffice as your rewards. I can’t spoil you too much, but I must also ensure that you grow properly. So, I’ll be as kind as to supply you with the means to begin setting your foundation.”

Even though the quest didn’t reward any Experience Points, Kieran was thoroughly satisfied with what he received. Although there was far too much information for him to digest immediately, he covered the things that needed immediate attention.
For example, opening the Inheritor’s Inheritance to see what items were contained inside. Since Scar said he would impart what was necessary, it was natural that the inheritance was of utmost importance.
As Kieran’s hand made contact with the box, a panel appeared before his eyes.

Amongst the items, Kieran’s eyes immediately migrated to the beautifully made greatsword resting inside the box once it opened. Although the weapon was a greatsword, which typically focused on the weight of an attack rather than sharpness, the sharpness of this blade was phenomenal!
The entirely black exterior was complemented by a sleek edge that guided one’s eyes to the crimson lines running down the blade’s hilt. A black bandage wrapped comfortably around the hilt and ended before a sharp pommel in the shape of an open fang.
Overall, Kieran fell in love with the weapon at sight. In somewhat of a trance, Kieran was compelled to wield it. But upon trying to pick it up, Kieran felt an intense pain in his wrist.
〈System: The user’s Level and Strength are both insufficient to wield «Crimson Ashrune»!〉
“Insufficient?!” Kieran exclaimed while perusing the sword’s information to verify the system’s revelation.
「 Crimson Ashrune Blade (Unique)
Weapon Type: Greatsword
Item Level: 200
Phys. Attack Power +810
Mag. Attack Power +543
Strength +130, Agility +100, Control +90, Vitality +80
Effect: 20% chance for blood attacks to deal 50% more damage.
Effect: Active True Berserker Skills have their effects increased by 20%.
Effect: True Berserker Active Skills A Rank and below are increased by 1 level.
Item Ability «Blood Boom» – Once this ability is activated, all attacks gain the «Minor Blood Explosions» effect for 60 seconds. The effect increases blood attack damage by 30% and causes splash damage equal to the user’s highest Attack Power. This ability has a cooldown of 300 seconds.
Item Ability «Sacrificial Barrier» – This skill summons a barrier formed from crimson gases that solidifies into a translucent yet crimson barrier. The damage absorbing capabilities of the barrier is equal to 500% of the user’s Health. Once shattered, this ability will go into cooldown for 1 hour. However, the wielder can manipulate the shattered pieces to deal 100 % of the user’s Strength as defense-ignoring damage.
Description: A weapon personally wielded during Scar’s days as a juvenile True Berserker forged by the Great Dwarven Blacksmith, Grandar. It is one of their early works, but their attaintments in the way of forging are indisputable. This is a blade crafted with Nihilitite Ore and Immortal Blood, two properties its last wielder specifically requested. The blade is of immense weight and its innards bloodhungry! Only one of the proper class can hope to wield it without suffering greatly from the embedded properties.
Weight: 550 kg
Durability: 6,000/6,000
Requirements: «Blood Mania», 500 Strength, Level 25 」
After reading the weapon’s information, Kieran’s jaw practically dropped to the ground. 550 kg?! That was countless times the weight of the Scarlet Steel Greatsword. In fact, this sword alone weighed more than half a ton. The arm strength required to swing this sword comfortably was insane.
It wasn’t as simple as possessing the Strength to do so. One’s Constitution needed to be strong enough to sustain the continuous usage, or else the wielder’s Stamina would take a hefty toll.
Although the weapon had a level requirement of 25, Kieran wasn’t that sure that it was accomplishable by that level. After all, although his current stats had essentially doubled, they were far from enough.

To reach the bare minimum Strength, Kieran still required more than double his current value. Even with his current Unassigned Attribute Points, he wouldn’t achieve the minimum necessary to wield the weapon.
Fortunately, Kieran wasn’t entirely out of luck. There was still the matter of the unique opportunity that he had yet to receive. After talking to Scar, the system finally revealed its relation.
In this case, it related to the massive amounts of Experience Kieran accumulated. After his fight against Zelliolx and dealing with the countless enemies summoned to the Underground Goblin Stadium, the pool had surpassed a staggering 3.5 million!
Because Kieran’s requirement had tripled, although the accumulation was astonishingly high, Kieran wasn’t sure how many levels it would amount to.
Nevertheless, that wasn’t the matter that intrigued Kieran. What currently held his attention was related to the Zero Loss of Potential Trait.
