Chapter 597: Surprise
Chapter 597: Surprise
While Natalia and Kayla were embroiled in a risky bet, Almond, Lily, and others just finished the movie and left.
They continued walking and looked around this entertainment district when Ainen suddenly exclaimed. “Regalon?”
Almond and Lily blinked.
Ainen stopped walking as his eyes glinted.
“There’s a commotion over three kilometers away in a large club, and two people, or rather, two girls, involved have Regalon in their names,” Ainen said and turned to Almond and Lily. “The one currently fighting has instrumental-themed, sound, and light-related powers.”
Almond and Lily were surprised, their eyes shining.
“Natalia!” Both spoke at the same time.
“It must be Natalia and Kayla. Let’s go quickly.” Lily grinned.
“Yep.” Almond nodded with a smile. “This was a good coincidence. Ainen, can you lead us there?”
“Sure thing.”
“So who are they?” Fraisea curiously asked.
Lily chuckled and answered. “Friends who have been through life and death with us.”
Soon, they arrived at the place and saw the big battlefield up ahead.
Natalia was fighting against an alien humanoid bronze-skinned and glowing green hair.
There were big screens for people to see, and the sound was clear.
“There they are.” Lily smiled. “She is a Tier-4, but is fighting a Tier-10 and is still equally powerful. Actually more. She will win this.”
“Yep.” Almond nodded as he agreed with that after watching the battle.
Ainen’s eyes glinted. “She is getting stronger. It seems her cards have synergies to make her stronger the longer she is in a battle.”
Natalia was floating surrounded by over a hundred instruments now.
Each of them produced unique sound waves as well as animated shapes of tunes that weaved into a formation around her with multiple functions.
This single formation around her that she controlled with her baton was attacking her opponent and defending against attacks simultaneously.
And instruments were sometimes merging while new instruments were manifesting, making her stronger.
“She must have X-rank potential like you three for sure.” Saffa rubbed her chin. “Only that can explain her combat power.”
But the opponent was Tier-10, so he was holding fairly well.
He had three decks and multiple cards, a reserve of energy, and cards that could keep refilling his Pulse to last longer in battle.
But Natalia also had all that with just two decks, like how Almond and Lily would never run out of Pulse in a battle because of some of their combat arsenals with powers to recover their Pulse fast.
Almond had such Grimblades while Lily had such Dreadlings that could give them Pulse multiple ways.
Ainen also had his food and his new exotic second deck that could turn anything into a flame,e and he could also combine flames and grant unique properties and effects to them.
He had already created flames that could burn foreign energies and convert them into Pulse for him.
Natalia also had such a combat arsenal.
Which was why she was calm, smug, and taunting as she battled.
“Green Horseshit. Are you sure you’re Tier-10? You’re weak as shit.” Natalia laughed.
“Humph, you haven’t beaten me yet. And even if you win, there’s still a tie-breaker, bitch.” Green Horseshit coldly snorted. But internally, he was frowning. ’This bitch is strong.’
“Wait.” Natalia’s laughter stopped. “You moron, you’re weaker than the red guy, so why did you all say that you were sending your weakest in the first round?”
Green Horseshit’s face twitched.
The other four down below looked at them with many gazes as the surrounding people looked at them.
The bronze statues looked at each other before Volcanic Dogshit laughed. “It was our strategy. I am the strongest among us, but by hiding that fact, we got an easy victory.”
“It wasn’t easy, trash.” Natalia glared at him. “You barely won.”
“Keep your focus here, bitch.” Green Horseshit suddenly used a card as two more arms appeared from his sides, making him a four-armed. But those two arms were strange with glowing patterns and were charging up with power.
Natalia kept note of it and began preparing a few different measures to keep herself in case he was about to launch a one-shot kill strike.
Meanwhile, Almond and others below got to know more about the bet, and their faces changed.
Most of the people were floating. Some were on invisible air, while some were on wood, stone, or other exotic stuff they might be able to create with their cards.
Almond and others were also at Ainen’s Interdimensional Restaurant, which he transformed into an open pavilion-style cafe to watch the battle.
“This is rather serious.” Ainen awkwardly smiled.
“Gosh, they need to win this and then the tie-breaker.” Saffa worridly said. “But they really picked a fight with Tier-10. Of course, not that I also wouldn’t do that if they harassed me. So I support them.”
“Well, we have the luxury to pick a fight because we are the cream of the crop.” Clovelle wryly smiled. “But average Tier-4 or 5 can’t beat Tier-10, so if they get harassed, they might have to endure a bit of it.
“If you physically force someone against their will, you get penalized, so someone from that group must have grazed her or made some comments,” Almond said. “Given Natalia’s temper, she would pick a fight.”
Lily chuckled. “Yep.”
“Look at her.” Fraisea pointed at Kayla. “She is meditating. Must be powering up for the tie-breaker since Natalia will win this.”
“I wonder what powers she has.” Clovelle’s eyes blinked curiously.
“We are also curious.” Lily nodded. “Given Kayla’s True Concepts, they could bloom into any direction, unlike u,s who had specific directions.”
Above the arena, the formation around Natalia expanded again.
A hundred instruments hovered in layered rings around her—harps of woven light, war-drums of condensed thunder, crystalline flutes that emitted razor-thin beams of resonance, violins strung with threads of starlight. Each one pulsed in rhythm with her baton.
Green Horseshit flexed his newly grown arms.
The two original bronze arms clenched with brute strength.
The two new arms glowed from within, emerald patterns crawling across them like circuit veins charging toward overload.
He roared, his hair and body suddenly pulsing brightly.
All four arms moved.
The upper pair slammed together.
A shockwave of compressed green crystal rippled outward, fracturing the air itself into jagged prisms that shot toward Natalia like a storm of serrated glass, clashing with frequency waves of Natalia’s orchestra formation.
The lower pair of hands thrust forward.
Twin beams of condensed emerald pressure with golden and black patterns lanced through the battlefield, warping the spatial fold as they advanced, shooting through the waves and breaking Natalia’s outer defense with ease as they continued forward.
The audience watched with rapt attention as the climax seemed to be nearing.
