Chapter 544: Two Points, Search For Devil Roseramon
Chapter 544: Two Points, Search For Devil Roseramon
Days passed by.
The students who messed up and failed arrived outside. Otherwise, they continued surviving and ascending the stages.
In the end, all students who completed challenges until stage 10 returned.
“You all did very well in your first class.” John faintly smiled. “Now, you are free to do whatever you want, but before that, I have one suggestion, and one information to give you.”
“The right side, as we called it. Once you enter there, the only way to return is by reaching a certain rank of power. You will either reach there or die trying. I am not going to force you all to join there, so make your decision before our next class.”
The students blinked. All of them are unconcerned.
They were going to enter there, no matter what.
“Now, regarding the suggestion I have.” John grinned. “To make you adapt better on the other side when you enter there, you have two things to do.”
“First, this is a one-time thing. You must invoke your Grim Trial by reducing your Grim Power to zero. Grim Trials are dangerous, and failing there means death without possibility of resurrection. But all of you must make sure the total Grim Trials you cleared are three since you became Grim Residents. If not, you will not enter the other side.”
One of the students raised his hand.
John spoke. “And before anyone asks, yes. Grim Trials affects your entry there. Each Grim Trial you have cleared here will give you a Potential Point when you enter there. These points are extremely hard to earn and provide you with a boost in power in a certain way. You will know once you enter there.”
“Each rank, you can have one Grim Trial by emptying your Grim Power. This feature of Grimverse rewards you first as you can shape a power of your desire by spending Grim Power, and when you empty it, you have to pay the price by participating in a Grim Trial. If you survive and win, you get new branches in your Grim Tree. However, when people entered the other side, they got a reward in the form of Potential Points depending on the Grim Trials they cleared.”
John waved his hand, showing a tree projection with patterns and words.
“A Grim Tree is the core power structure enabled by Grimverse. Each branch provides us with a certain power that can be embedded into our arsenal of combat and allow us to become stronger.”
“But on the other side, there is also something like. More advanced, more fundamental. More powerful.” John Wicked’s eyes glinted. “And it is believed that the origin of everything is on the other side.”
“The creator or creators, who designed everything….belongs to that other side. This is the theory, and this is why the world beyond is there.”
John Wicked’s expression turned somber. “Second thing. This activity is something you must incorporate into your life for the next year. Disable your grim trees. Seal your rune of power. Destroy your Grim Weapon and Grim Armor.”
“Focus on your True Concepts and reorganize your Geneline to have aspects only from your True Concepts. Your entire combat arsenal must stem only from your True Concepts. Increase the depth of the ones you have, and comprehend more if you must.”
“But from now on, the more you avoid everything else and solely focus on True Concepts, the better it is.”
The students were startled.
“But won’t that make us utterly weak? I mean, True Concept provides most significant boosts, but they enable all other powers more, so if we abandon everything…we’ll become useless muffins, no?”
John smiled. “True Concepts is the only power that can become yours to wield freely. You may have comprehended powerful elements and created concepts to make them more powerful. You may have absurdly powerful Grim Tree’s branches, but all of that is from Grimverse or via Grimverse.”
“A fish can swim and do many things in water. It acquires talents and powers utilizing that environment. A monkey moves unhindered through the forest, from tree to tree with extreme agility. But put the fish in a forest, and a monkey under the ocean. What will happen?”
The students realized.
“So the power of Grim Trees and stuff will not work on the other side?” Vier raised his eyebrows.
“Exactly. However, True Concepts are something that becomes yours when you acquire an understanding stemming from your will. It is not knowledge, it is not logic. It is because you will.”
“And your Grim Trees mainly stem from your True Concepts and other powers. It’s just that Grimverse can utilize your True Concepts and grants you more power that is stemming from you. Grimverse does not give. It invokes. But it must not be invoked for you. You must invoke for yourself from now on. Use True Concepts only, increase their depths and utility, and comprehend more of those to build a new combat arsenal.”
Almond frowned. A sudden understanding dawned on him as he remembered something.
He acquired the True Concept—Grim-Fated Cut in his final fight against the Grimworld Tree, and when he ascended to Grimverse, his first Grim Tree resulted from both his True Concepts—Grim-Fated Cut and Oblivion.
Its branches had the powers of his True Concepts! But they were enabled by Grimverse, so he could keep using and imbue all of his techniques methodically with precision without worry.
“That’s all. Now, the class is dismissed. After hearing everything you heard today and thinking carefully, you may decide if you want to continue in this path or live in the Grimverse.”
’I have something to discuss.’ Almond telepathically relayed to John.
’Use this after one minute.’
Something appeared in front of Almond’s hand. A translucent small bead.
John had vanished alongside Alfred, and all the students also exited from the exit portal.
The Regalons arrived back in their palace.
“Lily and I will return in a bit. Then we will discuss what to do.”
“Alright.”
Almond crushed the bead in his hand. And in the next second, he and Lily vanished from the palace and found themselves in a new world, on a cliff.
John was sitting at a table.
“Welcome to my Monster Paradise.” John smiled. “Take a seat.”
Almond and Lily couldn’t see everything, but the giant mini-planet-sized croon pouring lava-like thing down far away told them this was an extraordinary dimension.
Both of them sat at the table.
“So, what’s the matter you wanted to discuss?” John asked.
Almond snapped his finger, creating a portrait of a crimson-haired devil.
“I want this person. I have a vendetta against him, which I must complete with my own hands. He is also a Grim Student, so I want to know where he is, and find a ground where I can stand in front of him at an arm’s length.” Almond’s eyes were cold.
John blinked. “What did he do?”
“I don’t remember much about my parents, but I found out that this person had kidnapped my mother and then killed her. I could not find him anywhere when I was in the Grimworld Tree, and I found during the investigation that he had left using the Ascension Ticket that Velrutee Zexen Otis spread to people who reached 100,001 Trinity Force. I wasn’t strong enough to find him and kill him at that time, and when I became able to do that, he was gone.”
“So I had no choice but to be patient and eventually find him in the Grimverse, but as fate would have it, he also broke through to Grim Student, and I managed to spot him. I saw him for half a second.” Almond clenched his fists. “And now I want to find him first and foremost.”
“I see.” John chuckled. “Consider it done. Once I find him, I’ll send Pymon to pick you up.”
“Pymon?” Lily blinked.
“You will know when he arrives to pick you up.”
