Viktor laughed loudly. “I guess I am finally catching up.”

“What? You reached Grim potential, Viktor?” James asked, startled.

The other old monsters were surprised.

Arjun smiled. “The reward for Grim Potential is rather nice. I’ll use it to open the second branch of the second Grim Tree we got.”

“Arjun, you reached Grim potential too?” Liang blinked.

“You all need to work harder.” Big D chuckled. “We should see more people at Grim potential next time we rank up.”

They began talking about their second Grim Trees, sharing their first branch’s powers and exploring them.

After an hour, they also sat down like many others and began meditating, brainstorming to create more techniques with their new arsenal of powers.

There was one thing in common when everyone’s second branch of the first Grim Tree awakened since they broke through.

The second branch’s power was completely passive.

Almond looked at both his trees, wondering which Grim Tree’s branch he should awaken.

Eclipse Convergence: Attacks against enemies under debuffs deal more damage. +5% attack power per debuff, up to 100 stacks.

’100 stacks?’ Lily’s eyes glinted.

Lily had tons of debuffs.

If she stacked 100 debuffs on someone and attacked them, her attack would be boosted by 500% of its original damage!

That was insane.

Admiral Rudra had a strong boost as well, though his Grim Trees were more oriented to make him last longer in battle, and the longer he lasts, the stronger he becomes. Aside from that, his build, aided by his True Concepts, consisted of breaking apart opposing forces.

Everyone had gained a major boost, especially those who managed to acquire Grim Potential in this assessment, since they awakened an additional branch of Grim Tree thanks to nourishment dew.

Time passed as everyone refined their combat skills for the upcoming Grim Student examination.

Those with Grim potential have already reached the peak of Grim Student in terms of stat points.

Grim Resident could have a total of 1,000,000 stat points.

Grim Student could have a total of 2,000,000 stat points.

Grim Adventurers could have a total of 3,000,000 stat points.

Grim Noble and further positions had more differences in stats, but the first three positions had an increment of merely 1,000,000.

So those with a qualitative difference in Grim Trees and their arsenal of powers could make up for the stat point and defeat those in higher positions, just like how Regalons did in the event.

As everyone heard the last line, people in the hall disappeared.

Almond, Lily, and others who had Grim potential arrived at a plateau, facing a vast dark forest filled with pale and dark lights of different colors.

[Welcome. The first exam is simple. Cross the forest. Your first death will be forgiven. You can end the exam and finalize your score right there and then, or you can continue. But know that the second death will mean your end.]

And then, everyone vanished from the plateau.

But as they arrived in the forest randomly, the last announcement of Grimverse rang in their heads.
