Chapter 454 - 454: Commission Fail, Hall of Ascension
“Terrific. I am afraid you haven’t shown everything yet,” Ramong said as he laughed.
“Maybe,” Lily replied as she looked at the screen in front of her.
She acquired the reward, and her latest Power level was updated.
[ Power Level: 12,392 ]
She looked at the other two’s screen and was a bit surprised.
[ Power level: 9460 ] — Ramong
[ Power level: 9602 ] — Ruka
The other two also looked at Lily’s power level and couldn’t help but smile wryly.
The power level was measured by the Grim World based on one’s comprehensive combat power, the quality of their powers, and their effective potency against other powers.
“You won this one, but the Massive-class event won’t be as easy,” Ruka said. “Good luck.”
After saying that, she exited from this pocket dimension.
“All the best. Let us clash at the event later,” Ramong said as he also left.
On the other hand, Lily stayed and absorbed her reward as she touched the [ Reward Accept ] on the screen.
God Essence entered her in a stream alongside a tiny, colorful bead containing Trinity Force.
Lily absorbed the bead and instantly felt her mind, body, and soul getting nourished and strengthened.
She acquired full Trinity Force forcefully by negating the chance aspect of it using her will. Apparently, people like her could do it as Veruna told her, though only 10% out of all others were Overriders in this third layer, and the majority of them were Chief Gods of various families or council members if a familia had multiple of them.
After acquiring 100 Trinity Force, she left the dimensional space and continued flying on the floor.
The only unfortunate thing was that she didn’t acquire the Heavenly Bell-Flower Pagoda’s ticket at a 10% chance.
As she flew, a giant flying monster with four wings and having a pelican’s beak but with a more monstrous design ambushed her, shooting at her like a comet from the sky.
Lily’s eyes drooped just a bit in response before a sharp sound of flesh tearing rang as her arm blurred with the appearance of a dagger while she neatly dodged with a barrier flickering around her.
A moment later, the harrowing sound of flesh rupturing rang.
The bird unraveled all of its body parts in layers before it transformed into a dreadling with wings that followed Lily as she continued to find another challenge.
In the next two hours, Lily completed two more challenges and increased her Trinity Force by 260 more since she won both of them.
Her latest Power Level was 13,749.
She didn’t return to the familia’s territory but instead arrived at one of the top ten cities on this floor.
Entering the city, she went straight for the giant dark silvery bird-shaped building with aesthetic blue and golden design.
This building belonged to a powerful force. It was the branch of Nether Grasp Hall—an organization belonging to a Deity Familia of the upper floors.
After she entered, she was welcomed by people with dark-silver wings and feathery scales over their arms, face, and legs in weird yet beautiful formations, shining and gleaming.
All staff members belonged to the same familia on the upper floor.
“Welcome to the Nether Grasp Hall, Chief Goddess Lily.”
A woman approached her with a smile, identifying her instantly before gesturing to her. “Please follow me.”
Lily nodded and followed her through the hall before entering one of the eight corridors and entering a room.
There were other people coming and getting led into rooms for further discussion, while others left. All people coming and going at some common indicators in their eyes.
Nagativity.
Because people came here to do harm to others indirectly or indirectly.
Nether Grasp Hall’s work was to fulfil requests of their customers, as one could present any type of request. Depending on the task, the fees would be calculated.
And the fees were a bit versatile.
As Lily entered the room with the woman and sat down on a couch, the silvery-feathered woman sat across from her on another couch and waved her hand.
A middle-aged man appeared in the room with a trolley as he served two cups of tea before vanishing.
“I’ve heard about this organization,” Lily said as she grabbed the cup and took a sip.
“You haven’t heard enough, given your short time experience in the third layer,” the woman said with a faint smile before she took a sip. “Pleased to meet you, 78th Chief of the Achromatic Familia. I am Neirina.”
Lily nodded in response and said, “My task is rather simple. I want a spy in Myriad Stars Alliance who can get me information. Perticularly, information pertaining to their second layer dealings.”
Neirina blinked, her eyes flashing with some micro symbols. “I see, the Myriad Stars Alliance of the 75th floor. They do have a rather lucrative business thanks to their arrangement in the second layer.”
“Yes. How much would you take?” Lily asked.
“Please wait a bit, I am connecting to the main server of the familia,” Neirina said with a smile as her eyes flashed with strange micro symbols again. “I can guarantee you that you will get all information discussed by the leaders of the alliance and other information pertaining to the second layer with 99.9% accuracy.”
“And your price…” Neirina’s eyes flickered as she smiled and continued. “How about marrying one of the young heirs of our Nether Silverend familia?”
“You are a fine young woman in every aspect of life and power, an asset deemed special to be acquired.”
Lily’s eyes narrowed, becoming icy. “Are you joking?”
Neirina wryly smiled. “I’m afraid not. You are a rather tempting asset for the Nether Silverend familia. In our understanding, you are married, but your husband is below-“
“Shut up,” Lily said as she stood up and flatly asked. “Are you going to change the price to God Essence?”
“I’m afraid I cannot. To acquire you, the organization board has declared you a Special Customer. Any tasks you request from us will have the same price.”
Lily turned around and left.
‘Nether Silverend familia…’ Lily’s eyes glinted coldly.
She would remember them.
After leaving the building, Lily went to the center of the town, where the biggest building was located. It was the natural building constructed by the Grimworld Tree itself.
Inside this building were runic black platforms with eccentric patterns.
This building was called the Hall of Ascension, and it existed everywhere on all floors, in various cities. In fact, cities were built around these buildings.
Lily entered and stood on one of the platforms as well before it was covered in a black light curtain all around that prevented people from seeing inside.
Putting her hand on a pedestal with a large square, it kind of scanned her before pulling up a screen.
Multiple tabs appeared, but Lily clicked on [Available Upgrades], and it opened up with a list of her assets.
[Soul Traits (1/1) ]
—> Vibe Meter – X
[Innate Talents(3/4)]:
—> Infernus Fons Intimacy
—> Achromatic Domain
—> Blood Reckoning
[Elemental Masteries (1/2)]:
-> Eidol-Blood Dreadlain
—> Darkness of Lossless Wonder
—> Ichor of Dreadspire Eidolon
—> Ice of Everlain
[Intents (2/3)]:
—> Gloom Reaper.
—> Blooming Ruination.
[Ability Trees (7503/10,000]:
—> Parade of Dreadspire Kingdom.
—> Axiom of Hollow Splendor.
Aside from Genelines, the other assets must be upgraded via the Hall of Ascension, with the cost being God Essence.
And it wasn’t an instant upgrade. Instead, it would show the possible upgrades taken from the user’s thoughts, goals, and desires before presenting the power that the user could absorb and upgrade.
For instance, if it was an upgrade of an Intent, Lily would acquire a phenomenon that she must comprehend to upgrade the intent.
It was the same with Ability Trees and Exotic Elements.
In here, there were no longer singular elements. God-rank and above could refine their existing Exotic Elements and also get a new one, but naturally, it must be comprehended.
The upgrades of Innate Talents were a bit different. People would get possible upgrade options, and selecting one would send them to a hellish challenge that would require going beyond their usual capabilities. Only by winning the challenge would one’s innate talent be upgraded.
One could also get a new Innate Talent if their source power had potential left for it.
As indicated beside each tab, there was a limit to gaining the powers.
Right now, Lily had space to get one more Innate Talent, one more Exotic Element, one more Intent, and upgrade her Ability Trees to make their potential value hit 10,000.
Potential Value of the ability tree section could only be increased by ascending to reach the Divine Deity-rank, and one of the requirements for this rank was having 10,000 Trinity Force.
Lily was still a God-rank lifeform, an Elite Goddess at that, and she still had much to progress before becoming that.
Divine Deity rank was a divider of the floors, as people of that rank couldn’t descend below the 50th floor.
There were such restrictions in floors like how it was in the Grimworld Tutorial, whereas a higher-level person entering a lower-floor would make their stats the same as it was when they were on that particular lower floor.
It was exactly the same here. Since people progressed through the floors one by one, if they descended the floors, their Trinity Force and all the progress would be reduced to the same as it was in the past when they were on the floor.
There were also rules here, as people were not allowed to fight within floor cities, as each city was like a Sanctuary Area that appeared on the 10th floor in Grimworld’s Tutorial.
…
Lily decided to upgrade her Blood Reckoning Innate talent.
She pressed on it, and several options appeared, showing which of the upgrades she wanted.
