Chapter 377: Make the World fall Silent - Part 2

“We are almost back at the flower lab. Kael’s body is nearby—”

Elena spoke when she suddenly strengthened her barrier to protect them all from an incoming attack.

Dust obscured their vision, and when it finally cleared, they saw that a familiar face was obstructing their path.

It was Kael.

But there was enough evidence to tell them that this was not the Kael they knew, but someone else occupying his body.

“This presence… it feels foul. Who the hell are you, and what are you doing in this body?”

Seraphina asked, getting ready to drive out whatever had occupied Kael’s body. Her attack became intense within seconds before she sent it towards Kael to cleanse his body.

But it was of no use. Kael easily deflected the attack and gave her an amused glance, making her feel annoyed.

“Darn it! This is likely not going to work. I am not able to use my full power against someone wearing Kael’s face.”

Seraphina complained as she looked at Kael’s body floating in the sky.

There was no recognition in his eyes, and he attacked them indiscriminately, causing them all to curse.

“Fuck it! I don’t think I have ever felt the urge to hit Kael before today.”

Lyra complained, but she still hesitated to do anything. They were all at a stalemate, not wanting to fight Kael.

The only one who struck was Leon, and that was only because he wanted to subdue Kael.

But the second he got too close, he felt the god’s energy pressing him back.

He struggled to get back on his feet, but there was one thing he did realise after clashing swords with Kael, and that was…

“Kael does not have his soul in his body right now. This is just an empty shell. So we can attack it without a care.”

Leon told everyone else, but Seraphina brought up her own concerns.

“Hey, if Kael’s soul is out there, then we need to be even more careful not to hurt his body. He will need to return to it, and damaging it would ensure he has nowhere to return to.”

Seraphina pointed this out clearly, but they did not have the luxury of taking it easy right now, especially when Kael’s body was hurling incredible spells their way.

“We have no choice but to use advanced magic to trap him. And even then, I have no idea how long we will be able to hold him back.”

Lyra pointed out, finally realising how taxing and dangerous this situation was. But she knew that she could not afford to back down.

“Shit! Could Kael not have left some message for us to tell us what he wanted to do? Why is he making us suffer like this—”

No sooner had Lyra complained than Leon’s body started to shine. Soon, Kael’s voice began to echo through the streets.

“I am leaving this recording behind because I have one request—seal my body and all these bodies as well. Use the mana-storing flowers and put this world to sleep for a few days. I am sure you all will be able to pull it off.”

“Meanwhile, I will fulfil my side of the deal and take care of the situation for all of us.”

Kael was making a promise, but wasn’t it too much trouble?

“This bastard! Does he think he can resolve this situation so easily? He is going to get himself killed like this.”

Seraphina pointed out, but she knew in her heart that Kael was the only one who could pull something like this off.

So she let out a sigh and decided to trust him this time as well.

“Well, it looks like we already know what we need to do now. Let’s make sure this gets done properly.”

Lyra pointed out and got ready to face Kael’s body.

This time, the magic they needed to cast was massive, so all of them would have to participate.

“Then, I will hold Kael’s body back. You all had better make sure to cast the spell as quickly as you can.”

Leon pointed out as he stood at the vanguard of the party.

Leon tightened his grip on his sword and took a deep breath before charging forward.

He knew that he could not afford to hold back, especially when Kael’s body was moving with the power of a god behind it.

“Damn it! Kael, you had better come back in one piece after all this!”

He shouted as he deflected another attack, his arms trembling from the impact.

Even though he knew that the person before him was not Kael, fighting someone wearing his teacher’s face was proving to be far more difficult than he had anticipated.

Meanwhile, the others began preparing the spell.

“Everyone, hurry up! I cannot keep this going forever!”

Leon shouted, barely managing to dodge another devastating spell.

“We know! Just give us a little more time!”

Lyra replied, her expression growing serious as she felt the enormous amount of mana gathering around them.

The flowers began to glow, their petals releasing streams of mana that intertwined with the magic being cast by the others.

Slowly but surely, the spell began to take shape, spreading across the area like an enormous net.

Kael’s body finally seemed to recognise the threat. It stopped attacking Leon and turned towards the others, gathering an enormous amount of energy in its palm.

“Not so fast!”

Leon roared as he charged forward, striking with everything he had.

For a moment, the entire world seemed to tremble as his sword collided with the incoming spell. And that brief moment was all the others needed.

The net of magic descended, wrapping around Kael’s body and forcing it to the ground.

“Now! Seal him and everyone else.!”

Seraphina shouted, and everyone poured their remaining strength into the spell.

The light intensified until it swallowed everything in its path, leaving behind a silence that none of them dared to break.

They had succeeded. The world had fallen silent.
