Raising Yanderes to save the world

Chapter 348: Ch 347: Experiment

Finding the core of the dungeon was not hard. All Kael needed to do was concentrate on it, and he was able to get to the root of the problem. He was even able to pull it out and keep the monsters at bay with his powers.

’No matter how I think about it, it is clear that my powers have evolved to a greater height compared to before. This must be what the fragments of the god are doing to me.’

This was just a theory for now, but every theory had a basis, and so did this one. Kael was going to experiment more with his powers and capabilities once he got the time.

But for now...

"Lyra, I am going to absorb the core into my body now. Be ready for anything."

He warned her, and before his words could even be acknowledged, he started absorbing the core.

The heat from the core made him feel like his body was melting from the inside. But it was a pleasant feeling at the same time, relaxing him enough to make the absorption easier.

It felt familiar and different at the same time, and Kael had a feeling it was because his nature had changed. He did not feel like he was fully human anymore.

For now, he closed his eyes and embraced that power flowing inside him as it collected into his own core.

And once he opened his eyes, the world started to look slightly different. It was duller than before, with Lyra standing out from her surroundings.

It took Kael a few seconds to notice that he was not seeing normally, but rather, looking at the mana of the people around him.

"Ugh, my eyes..."

He rubbed his eyes a few times to get rid of the lingering spots, but it was of no use. The spots continued to flash across his eyes until he willed his eyes to change.

His normal vision did return, but with a headache.

"Kael, are you alright? Did something happen? You suddenly clutched your head and I—"

Lyra looked worried, and for a good reason. Her eyes looked at Kael without hesitation, but he felt nothing but pleasure and power in this moment. Even the feeling of pain and tiredness could not stop him.

He felt like he needed to get out of this dungeon before he ended up doing something stupid in the name of experimentation.

"I am fine now. Let me take this place down."

Kael pushed Lyra away a little, but she still kept her hold on his arm. Kael raised his other hand, and the space around them started to fall apart. It started slowly, but after some time, it started to rapidly fall apart.

The dungeon was gone before anyone realised what had happened, and the humans inside were also transported outside.

It happened even faster than last time, indicating that Kael’s power had increased once more. And it made him look down at his hands with fascination.

’Is my body really able to handle so much power without preparation? It would have taken a lot of reinforcement spells to do this before...’

This meant that his body had evolved with his powers as well. But he needed to test it... and he had the perfect person to test it on.

"Lyra, I am going to ask you to do something, and I do not want you to question me. Do you understand?"

Kael asked the demon queen, who hesitated before she nodded.

"Alright... I got it. What do you want me to do?"

Lyra had every right to be suspicious, so Kael did not say anything to her. Instead, he held his arms out toward her and looked her right in the face.

"I need you to punch me. Hard! In fact, use a little bit of your magic as well. I want to feel the impact."

Kael told her, and Lyra looked back at him as if he had lost his mind. And since she was Lyra, she did not hesitate to voice how stupid he was being right now.

"Huh? Have you lost your mind? You want me to punch you hard? There is no way I am going to do that. What if you die or something...?"

She asked in a terrified voice, and her worry was something that Kael understood quite well.

In fact, there was a solid chance that he might die from her punch if she did it seriously. But it was a risk he had to take.

His serious look did not change, and Lyra gave him a bothered look. In the end, she realised that he was serious, and she let out a sigh.

"Fine! I will give you what you want. But don’t complain that I went too far. I am only doing this because I believe you can handle it."

Lyra told him before she stood in front of him and pulled her hand back.

Kael braced himself for the impact, and he knew that it would hurt. But he was still not ready for the physiological impact he would suffer from this punch.

He looked at Lyra, trying to smile at her. But it hurt to even do that. But at the same time...

’I am not wounded a lot. It’s just mental shock—’

"Oh no! Kael, what happened! Lyra, how could you? Seraphina, knock Kael out and heal him. We need to check on him—"

Iris’s voice was loud, and Kael immediately turned to look at her. She had a terrified expression on her face, and Kael felt like he had to stop her before she made a mistake.

"Seraphina, wait! I am fine—"

He was knocked out before he could finish his words, and he felt Lyra struggling to get out of Leon’s binds as well.

She was trying to tell them all that she was innocent and only following what Kael had told her to, but it was too late.

She had already been captured, and Kael felt bad for dragging her into this mess.

’Ah, I need to wake up and tell them all that they are mistaken.’
