Chapter 47: Ch 47: Claim Mark

"I apologize for the mess my people have caused you. If there is anything I can do to help you out, don’t hesitate to ask me."

The Duke looked embarrassed, and Aiden had a feeling that the other aides were in for a world of scolding after this.

At least the Duchess and the youngest daughter had calmed down and also gained some respect for him. Aiden could see the youngest daughter sneaking glances at him that were filled with admiration.

She opened her mouth and, like a child, she declared her intentions toward him.

"Priest Aiden, I like you. I will give you the honor of marrying me—"

Her mother quickly put her hand on her daughter’s mouth and quickly pulled her back.

"Ahhh, don’t pay attention to my daughter’s immature words. She is at the stage where she does not know how to differentiate admiration from love and other things—"

"But I do. I fell for Priest Aiden and—"

"We shall take our leave now."

The Duke quickly took his family out before his young daughter could cause a scene. Even though she had calmed down, she was still a spoilt child, so who knew what demand she would make next.

Aiden watched her go with a smile, but honestly, he felt a little nervous as well. And it was because his goddess’s tail was hitting his back in agitation.

"Goddess Apophis—"

"I did not like that little shit! How dare she ask you, my Apostle, to marry her? Does she have a death wish? I should swallow her and show her what real pain is—"

His goddess was showing her displeasure toward a child, which made Aiden feel warm and cold at the same time.

He did not mind that his goddess was jealous or even annoyed, but he did care that she was going to make him fail the mission. So he needed to stop her for one day at least...

"I am eternally bound to you, my Goddess. I have no intention of ever leaving you or even getting married. For me, you are all I need, so please do not worry."

Aiden assured Apophis, who finally calmed down, but her agitation did not leave her body.

Her displeasure was still clear, and she declared her intentions and claimed him in one way.

Her fangs brushed against Aiden’s neck lightly, and he tensed a little out of reflex. But he instantly calmed down before speaking up.

"Goddess Apophis, are you going to bite me?"

Aiden had no fear in his voice when he asked this.

His body did recall that it died from a snake bite, but it still showed no resistance toward his goddess. That was how much he trusted her.

And his goddess seemed to know it as well because she instantly looked pleased.

"That’s right. I am going to bite you and inject a little bit of my venom inside you. It won’t harm you, but it will always remind you that I am around. It will also make it easier for me to track you down and keep an eye on what you are doing."

So this was basically his goddess telling him that she was going to stalk him 24-7 and even see him during the most intimate parts of his life.

It should have sounded creepy and disgusting, but Aiden could only feel a sense of thrill at such an offer.

He immediately offered his neck to his goddess.

"I am and always will be yours, Goddess Apophis. You are free to bite me whenever you want."

Aiden told the Goddess, who tapped his neck before her fangs entered his neck.

The sensation Aiden felt was impossible to describe. His mind felt like it was going numb, and his whole body tingled with the sensations he was feeling. It felt better than anything he had ever felt.

All his senses seemed to be in tune with his goddess, and Aiden’s body thrummed with her power and essence. He might have also been a little too excited, but he was unable to feel it under all this pleasure.

Goddess Apophis finally pulled her fangs out and admired her work. Aiden did not even realize when his legs had gotten weaker, but when he tried to get up, his body felt like it was filled with pleasure.

"Rest for now. It is not easy to adapt to this mark. You will be sensitive to my presence and touch for the next couple of days. Ah, and if you do need to relieve yourself, feel free to do it in my presence. After all, I will know about it anyway."

The goddess promised, and Aiden bit his lips.

He wanted to relieve himself, but he did not feel mentally prepared for it at the moment.

Aiden knew that sooner or later, he would feel the urge like all humans did, but at least not right now.

’First, I need to establish my goddess as a great deity, and then I can think about it...’

It took self-control for Aiden to go to sleep and calm his body down. He was even sure he could feel his goddess’s disappointment.

Unfortunately, her position came first right now. Aiden had an active mission that he needed to complete.

He was only able to sleep for about 30 minutes at a time before his body woke him up. He used this to keep an eye on the unconscious aide as well to ensure she was still alive.

And the night somehow passed without the aide dying, which meant that Aiden was able to complete his mission.
