Chapter 2845: Chapter 2845: Unusually Downtrodden Wolves
"Do these people think we’re blind?"
Yeah, do those fools think they’re blind? Even if they crouch their bodies, they should at least walk carefully. Don’t go on the main road.
But look at Shadow Killer and his group, they just walk wherever the road is smooth. I can’t figure it out. Are these assassins who operate at night blind enough to trip and fall?
"Let’s pretend we’re blind for now."
His guard companion sneered, saying.
Lord An had instructed them to only watch the people, no matter where they went or what they did, don’t make a move until they reach the camp’s center, then take them out all at once.
"Remember, for that woman and the one called Shadow Killer, leave them breathing." The team leader pointed at two people wearing noticeably different clothing from the others and instructed the guards.
"Got it, we’ll let them escape."
The guards replied in hushed tones, though they were also wondering, are these people really assassins?
The leader dresses so differently from his subordinates, is he afraid others don’t know ’catch the leader first’?
"Is this the place?"
Shadow Killer whispered, looking at the tents ahead of them.
According to the map, these tents are where those people live. But how come there’s no sound at all?
"How is there no sound? Could we have come to the wrong place?" Aunt Qiu voiced the question he wanted to ask.
"Can’t be, right? Boss, Aunt Qiu, it’s already dawn. Isn’t it normal to hear nothing?" A man dressed in black mumbled from behind them.
If there were sounds coming from the tents, wouldn’t that be odd?
Hearing his words, the two of them thought it over. If there were still sounds, even if their mission succeeded, they wouldn’t make it back alive.
"Aunt Qiu, you take the others to that tent. The rest spread out to the other tents. I’ll go to this side." Shadow Killer instructed.
No one objected, and they headed towards the tents with their groups.
But they hadn’t even entered the tents when a blinding light hit their eyes.
"What’s going on?"
Aunt Qiu, inexperienced in assassination, didn’t understand what was happening.
But in Shadow Killer’s heart, a thud resounded. He instantly understood it was a trap. Their actions had long been known. The Camp Zhan Yun’s silence was all because Lan Zhiyi wanted to catch them like turtles in a jar!
"Run quickly!"
He grabbed Aunt Qiu and dashed toward the direction they came from.
...
Three hours later, in the woods.
An arrow pierced Shadow Killer’s chest, and Aunt Qiu had two cuts on her body, covered in blood, looking extremely disheveled.
"Shadow Killer, didn’t you say you would arrange everything?"
Aunt Qiu, holding back the pain, lowly roared at Shadow Killer!
Everything’s over. This mission failed, there’s no next time. The Camp Zhan Yun will protect those people even more, they won’t find another chance to strike again.
"Look at the lousy arrangements you made. Now look, we didn’t kill the target, and so many of our people were lost. How do you plan to explain this to the master?"
She questioned.
"Enough, everyone got stuck in there. What’s the point of saying anything now? Just say less." Shadow Killer flung Aunt Qiu’s hand away.
