[R18] King's Domination
Chapter 476: We’re Going to Storm In
Inside the carriage heading to the security force building are the four of us: me, Dee, Bill, and Department Head Garcia. The air is heavy, as expected.
"Marie-sama, regarding future matters, Bill and I will no longer be able to accompany Marie-sama. We have come to stay in this town for a while. The reason is as you imagine. It is very regrettable that we cannot be together from here on, but this is also important work, so there is nothing to say but that it cannot be helped, please understand."
Dee starts saying. I see, since they took in Department Head Garcia, they have to handle the aftermath.
"That means, it would be fine if I alone chase after the Hero-sama and the others?"
That can’t be helped, and being alone is lighter and better, I thought and said, but,
"That cannot be! It is impossible for a prince of a country to move without even bringing attendants. Please wait until attendants to replace us come from the Royal Capital!"
Dee says in a panic.
"Dee is right. Marie-sama seems to think of it lightly, but a noble cannot behave in such a way!"
Bill also says strongly. Department Head Garcia is smiling thinly.
"Then what should I do?"
"Please wait at the inn. In two or three days someone will come from the Royal Capital! Until then, as long as you do not go outside the town, you may go anywhere!"
"So troublesome..."
Even though I only let it slip a little,
"Saying such things again!"
He scolds. I want to say, are you my guardian? After that, I was made to listen to this and that of Dee and Bill’s predictions of who would come as my attendant. Since they won’t hit anyway, and they’re all names I don’t know, I ignored that.
When we arrive at the building, Captain Alun was waiting for us (or rather, for Department Head Garcia). Immediately the meeting about tonight’s assault begins.
"Basically, do not show mercy and kill those who resist. The opponents use violence on a daily basis, and it is conceivable they will resist the security force with weapons, so respond so that casualties on the security force side come out as little as possible."
That policy was conveyed. This seems to have been arranged by Department Head Garcia, Dee, and Bill. What is stated outside the words of this policy is,
"Is it premised on annihilation?"
I ask while thinking that my face right now is surely a gruesome thing. It was probably that we should act with that as an implicit understanding. None of the three affirm it, but they also do not deny it. Is this saying that we leave only Department Head Garcia and dispose of the lower-end Empire dogs?
"Shall I also stand on the front line?"
This was me asking outside the words whether I should go around disposing of Empire dogs while appraising. Then,
"Please."
Department Head Garcia nods.
"What will Baron May and Baron Blueford do?"
If I ask,
"We will act together with Department Head Garcia."
I see, if taken favorably, it means not taking eyes off Department Head Garcia and not letting him do unnecessary things. Well, there’s no way we can trust him yet. For the time being Dee and Bill will stick to him and monitor Department Head Garcia, so it can’t be helped. If taken badly, Dee and Bill are useless on the fighting side, so they will watch from a distance.
From the side, do I look like I’m in the gap between a hero and a murderer? Perhaps I’m a murderer wearing the skin of a prince? I’ve become able to kill without hesitation if I think they’re a bad guy, though limited to men. When the word annihilation was uttered, I felt that from the movement of the surrounding air.
Until the time came, I was allowed to sleep in one room of the building. Department Head Garcia and the others still have things to arrange, they say, but since I’m a human outside this country’s organization, I’ll leave that to them.
Becoming alone, I thought for a moment. About Department Head Garcia, would it have been better if I didn’t sell him to Dee and the others and only talked to Department Head Garcia, and sold a favor? So that someday when the Empire, Mainz Kingdom, and Marie Kingdom go to war, the treatment of the Empire becomes even a little better, or something. But surely, when coming to this country from the Marie Kingdom I’ve already killed quite a few Empire ability holders, and I feel like I’ll be made an enemy of the eye....
When I was woken and opened my eyes, it had already become dusk. Inside the security force building a sense of tension is drifting. Quite a few people are coming and going inside the building. But Nguyen who falsely reported us isn’t here. Was he excluded, is he in a place that doesn’t catch my eye, or did he sense the atmosphere and flee?
Anyway, when dusk came it became busy. Dinner was served and we take it in a hurry. Even saying that, those gathered in the cafeteria? are a little over 20 people. I don’t know how many are on the other side, but thinking that not all of these will storm in and half will go to the encirclement, will half of these and I be storming in together? I started feeling a bit uneasy. No no, I know that being in that kind of feeling doesn’t lead to anything good. It’s the same as a competition where you think you’ll lose from the start can never be won.
Three people seem to be the minimum action unit of the security force, and they leave the building little by little. At the end, the remaining Captain Alun and Nguyen who appeared from somewhere departed together with me. Nguyen, as if he has forgotten my face, cleanly ignores me and talks to Captain Alun. This guy, when he was among the punks he had a cunning-looking face, but the face he shows to Captain Alun is the face of a good person itself.
Nguyen being cheerful was only until midway, and as we approach that punks’ house Nguyen’s number of words decreases and he falls silent. Finally,
"Captain, if we go this way as is, I think we will go to a place different from what was said earlier?"
He asks. Captain Alun, remaining expressionless,
"That is not the case. The destination is ahead. There is the house you always pass through, right? Especially I do not intend to have said anything wrong, but?"
"Such a thing..."
Nguyen is speechless and stops.
Captain Alun stops and looks at Nguyen.
"What’s wrong, Nguyen? Let’s go, the destination is the place you are thinking."
Nguyen’s expression changes interestingly. That he is thinking what to do in his head appears on his expression. Eyes still swimming, he suddenly starts fidgeting,
"Um, I, that, remembered urgent business..."
He starts saying an excuse like something out of a picture.
I thought it was a better excuse than saying family became sick, but thinking about it, for a sudden illness, who and how would contact him!? When I think that, there’s no excuse other than remembering urgent business.
"You can go. But if you go to the place I am thinking, the encirclement is already finished. Those surrounding are your colleagues, so they will let you in. You can do as you like with that. We already grasp everything you are doing. If you were only getting along with those punks it would have been fine to overlook, but it seems you have other dangerous connections as well. With this we can no longer overlook."
Captain Alun says in a light tone. I see, the reason he sent members out first was to have them encircle, and Nguyen being last was so that even if he fled in, it would be after the encirclement was finished.
Nguyen fell silent.
"Let’s go!"
Captain Alun says and starts walking. I also follow after. He’s probably thinking Nguyen will dive into that house.
I sensed the presence of Nguyen moving at my back. I thought he would attack, but he disappeared and was gone. For the time being I marked him, so as long as he doesn’t get too far it’s fine.
Last night the punks’ house felt far, but going the second time it was closer than I thought. Around the punks’ house there is no particular traffic restriction, and I think it’s probably in the usual state. Where are the members who are encircling? If this is the case they can escape freely, I think, and Captain Alun,
"Shall we storm inside soon?"
Says in a tone like shall we go eat somewhere!
"Storming in means over there?"
I confirm just in case. Because at the entrance of the house, about three older brothers who go without saying are lounging around.
"I and Marie-sama, the two of us will enter."
Captain Alun says casually.
"Eh?"
"Two people."
"Is it okay with such a small number?"
"More people is rather dangerous. Indoors movement is restricted, so there are also cases of friendly fire."
Indeed it is logic! But one of those two being me, how is that?
"I see."
I agree having no choice. This was probably decided in a place where I wasn’t. Those three while I was sleeping....
"Then Marie-sama, please take the lead. I will protect Marie-sama’s back."
"...Yes?"
It became a development completely different from what I was thinking. Even saying that, in the end it becomes like this... I was thinking in a corner of my heart. It’s fine already. I was born under this kind of star... No, I was transferred.
