The only thing about Song Mo that had not changed was his love for showing off his abilities.

Song Mo: …

After finally arriving downstairs at the girls’ dormitory, Ning Shu took the things from Song Mo and handed him a large bag of exfoliating bath towels. “I bought quite a lot. Take them and use them.”

“Thank you, but you should let your friends use them.” Song Mo refused the exfoliating bath towels Ning Shu offered.

This feeling was slightly strange. His girlfriend might be fake!

“Alright then. Here is some water, take it to drink on your way.” Ning Shu handed a bottle of water to Song Mo.

Song Mo took the water and stood there without moving.

“I am going up then.” Ning Shu carried the large and small bags, preparing to go upstairs.

Song Mo let out an ‘oh.’ Seeing that Song Mo was standing perfectly still, Ning Shu asked, “Are you going to go up? It is full of girls up there, it would not be good for you to go up.”

There were also girls running around in shorts. It really would not be appropriate for Song Mo, a boy, to go up.

“Uh…” Song Mo looked at Ning Shu. “We have to go to class later. I will wait for you here, come down quickly.”

“Oh!” Ning Shu carried the things and went upstairs. After climbing four floors, Ning Shu did not encounter anything scary. To be honest, Ning Shu actually really wanted something incredibly scary to suddenly jump out and tell her that this was still a dream.

Rather than the current situation, which left Ning Shu a bit confused.

It felt real, but she had no confidence in her heart. It still felt virtual, but then again, it was just like reality. She was still conflicted about the dreamscape.

This was the feeling you’d get when space and time was being scrambled, and you were unable to distinguish reality clearly.

Ning Shu gave a mental laugh, returned to the dorm, and woke her three roommates up for class.

The itinerary that followed was going to class, eating, reading in the library, and then strolling down the streets. Of course, all of these activities were done while following her boyfriend.

An incredibly ordinary day was about to pass just like this. There were no monsters, no zombies, no bleached bones, and no man-eating flowers. There was nothing at all.

Ning Shu stayed on guard constantly, defending against the unknown, but the result was absolutely nothing. Even though there was nothing, Ning Shu’s nerves remained tightly strung. This feeling was even more tense than being in a terrifying environment.

This psychology of both anticipation and fear was the most torturous.

Ning Shu even felt that such peaceful days were more stimulating than terrifying and horrifying scenes.

Because she had developed a feeling of scrambled space and time. If this were a real world, an ordinary person, unable to distinguish between reality and illusion, would behave just like a lunatic.

Everyone would think this person was crazy, but no one would know what the psychology of this lunatic was like.

Many mental patients always saw things that ordinary people could not. It would clearly be a tall building, but the ground would look very low to them, making them want to jump down. They might even feel that the floor slabs were going to collapse, and their resulting behavior would be hiding here and there.

Ordinary people would simply think they were crazy.

Moreover, there would constantly be someone chattering away in their ear, keeping them company and talking to them, just like having a ghost around.

Ning Shu behaved very calmly. Song Mo did not sense anything abnormal, only feeling that his girlfriend might have become a fujoshi.

She was either giving him soap or exfoliating bath towels, and even telling him to use them with the boys in his dorm, or just give them away.

Song Mo: …

Fortunately, Ning Shu’s mental strength was powerful enough. While reciting the heart-clearing chant in her mind, she did not have to run everywhere being chased, as long as there were no monsters.

This was not a relaxing dreamscape, but rather a dreamscape that made people’s nerves even more tense.

“What are you afraid of?” Song Mo escorted Ning Shu downstairs to the girls’ dormitory. Rubbing Ning Shu’s head, he asked, “Do not be afraid. No matter what is out there, I will be by your side.”

Ning Shu: “Oh, I believe you!”

Because he truly had so much screentime!

He was an incredible person who could appear anywhere, anytime. In reality, he was the bug in this entire dreamscape, wasn’t he?

“Anyone might hurt you, but I will not hurt you. You have to believe me.” Song Mo rubbed Ning Shu’s hair until it was very messy.

Ning Shu found it most annoying when her hairstyle got messed up. It took a whole night of using hair rollers on her bangs to achieve this effect, but Song Mo ruined it in an instant.

Do you know how hard it is to style hair?

“No matter what, I will be by your side. If there is anything you are afraid of, you can tell me.” Song Mo grabbed Ning Shu’s hand. “Do not be afraid.”

“I am very afraid,” Ning Shu said bluntly.

“Uh… do not be afraid,” Song Mo said. “Truly, do not be afraid.”

“Oh, what should I be afraid of?” Ning Shu asked him with a smiling face.

“Thinking what you think, worrying about what you worry about,” Song Mo said. It felt like Song Mo had become somewhat different.

Ning Shu blinked her eyes, tilted her head, and looked at Song Mo. “What do I have to worry about? What do I have to fear?”

Song Mo’s hand covered Ning Shu’s eyes. “Believe me, do not resist me.”

Song Mo’s palm was somewhat dry and warm. When he covered Ning Shu’s eyes, the heat passed through her eyelids. This heat therapy felt comfortable!

Ning Shu let out a ‘hmm,’ then asked, “Can I believe you?”

Ning Shu and Song Mo were practically mutually aware now. They were currently speaking of things they both could understand.

“What other choice do you have besides believing me? So stop messing around blindly like a psychopath, okay? Just keeping your mind normal is enough.” Song Mo put down his hand and spoke to Ning Shu.

“What am I messing around with?” Ning Shu asked.

“You have been messing around blindly this whole time.” And implicating others every time.

Ning Shu gave a mental ‘hehe.’

Who the hell knows what the situation was right now? If you tell me to believe you, I am just supposed to believe you?

“Do not die,” Song Mo said.

“Do not let yourself die. Once you die, the dreamscape will change again. It will change endlessly, and you will be trapped in here forever,” Song Mo said somewhat helplessly.

“Oh!” Ning Shu had finally heard something useful.

Ning Shu sat on the flowerbed and patted the ceramic tiles of the flowerbed with her hand. “Come, sit down and speak.”

Song Mo sat down and said directly, “You are a fucking idiot. I have never seen anyone as stupid as you.”

Ning Shu: …

“Are you not my boyfriend?” Ning Shu asked.

“Who is your boyfriend? It was just that to enter the dream, I had to find an identity you could accept,” Song Mo said directly. “In here, have you completely turned into a retard?”

Ning Shu: …

I don’t understand any of what you just said.

Holy shit, this fucking idiot is really sharp-tongued!

“Fortunately, you are also quite retarded!” Ning Shu said directly.

“What is the situation outside?” Ning Shu asked.

“You were hypnotized by someone.”

Ning Shu: …

They specifically picked a field she was unfamiliar with. Ning Shu narrowed her eyes and looked at Song Mo. “Did I offend someone?”

“The most important thing right now is to wake up. You seem to not want to wake up,” Song Mo said.

I do! Who wants to be tortured like this constantly!?

“Whether you can wake up or not depends on you,” Song Mo said.

Ning Shu stood up. What he said amounted to saying nothing at all. As for Song Mo’s words—she could only half-believe them. This man constantly made his presence known, and Ning Shu even suspected in her heart that he was the one who hypnotized her.
