Chapter 3518: Martial Aunt (35)
Chapter 3518: Martial Aunt (35)
Even though the immortal estate could protect them from the intense heat and cold, Yi Youxuan and Qi Cheng could still feel the effects to some degree.
If things continued this way, she truly would develop an inner demon.
Ning Shu spent her time researching Mount Jiugong. There were nine layers of worlds within the mountain, but she simply didn’t know how to enter them.
Furthermore, there was no telling how many souls—or even living people—were trapped inside.
Ning Shu flew to the main hall and spoke to the sect leader. “I might have found a way to deal with that immortal estate.”
The sect leader was surprised. “What kind of way?”
“I can only try my best.” Ning Shu decided to dispose of the estate once and for all in front of everyone. If she dealt with it in secret, people would eventually demand the estate from her, accusing her of hoarding its treasures.
Many elders flocked to the scene upon hearing the news. If the estate was truly dealt with, they hoped to gain some benefits from it. After all, it was a Divine Dao sect’s legacy, surely containing pills, manuals, and spirit stones.
Ning Shu took out an evil-dispelling cinnabar pen and drew talismans upon Mount Jiugong. At the same time, she began to chant the Pure Land Rebirth Mantra.
Ning Shu had a specific plan for Mount Jiugong, but it remained to be seen if it could be realized. If it worked, she could settle the matter of those two once and for all.
Ning Shu stood in the courtyard as Mount Jiugong grew larger and larger until it loomed before her.
Black mist swirled around the mountain as souls began to emerge.
Ning Shu’s chanting of the Pure Land Rebirth Mantra grew louder. Several souls rushed toward her.
Ning Shu stood with a solemn, dignified air as she chanted. Slowly, a black hole appeared in a corner of the courtyard. This hole was likely a vessel for souls, as they instinctively began to drift toward it.
Ning Shu had seen this kind of black hole before. It appeared only briefly, and it was already starting to close. She pulled out the crystal-ball barrier and threw it—along with the immortal estate inside—directly into the black hole.
The black hole slowly sealed shut, and the surroundings fell silent, as if nothing had ever happened.
Ning Shu shrank Mount Jiugong and stowed it away. Although she didn’t know exactly what that black hole was, she suspected that once something entered, it would never come back.
Fortunately, her plan had succeeded. Some of the souls from Mount Jiugong had also entered the black hole, making the mountain feel slightly lighter.
Ning Shu vomited a mouthful of black blood, her expression one of utter exhaustion.
Now she had technically ‘released’ those two, but as for where they ended up, it was none of her business.
She had had no other way to deal with people who spent all day hiding in a turtle shell.
However, Ning Shu was very curious about what was actually inside that black hole.
Could it be the reincarnation world?
Life and death existed in balance. For a constructed world to become a true world filled with living beings, a reincarnation world was essential.
In other words, to construct a complete world, one had to construct two separate realms.
“…Just like that?” the sect leader asked, looking somewhat dazed.
“Yes, just like that.”
Everyone had been hoping for good things to take.
Now she had simply thrown the treasure into a mysterious black hole that had appeared out of nowhere. There was nothing left.
“One must be alive to enjoy treasures. I had no other way to handle it, so I could only think of this method. Furthermore, Yi Youxuan’s fortune is very strong. She was destined to become a powerhouse. If she had stayed, whatever she took from us would have had to be repaid twofold—and that would have been the least of it,” Ning Shu said with a cold face.
Elder Duan sighed and groaned, mourning the loss of his potential cauldron.
Although everyone had their opinions, they remembered how Yi Youxuan had nearly caused Zisha Island to fall apart single-handedly. They simply chalked it up to them not having the luck to possess such treasures.
Ning Shu returned to her peak, closed her door, and collapsed onto her bed to rest. She felt like her body had been hollowed out.
This period of time had been incredibly exhausting.
Ning Shu slept for several days straight.
The world within the black hole was a grayish-black. There was no blue sky, no white clouds, no clear springs, and no green plants. There were only endless rocky beaches and grotesque black vegetation.
The crystal ball landed on the black earth. In this grey world, it looked exceptionally beautiful.
Especially the immortal estate within the barrier, which was radiant and dazzling.
Inside the estate, Yi Youxuan and Qi Cheng were filled with suspicion. Why was it so quiet outside?
“Jiang Xueci! Jiang Xueci!” Yi Youxuan shouted, but in this vast expanse, her voice sounded tiny.
But only silence answered them.
Yi Youxuan could not help but ask Qi Cheng, “Master, what is going on? Is Jiang Xueci not afraid of her inner demon acting up?”
“I am not sure what is happening either,” Qi Cheng replied, feeling an ill omen. He shouted, “Jiang Xueci!”
Still, no one answered them.
As time passed, the barrier grew thinner and thinner. The winds here were fierce, and under the erosion of the wind and sand, the barrier was on the verge of breaking.
A pale, slender hand reached out and picked up the immortal estate. A cold, indifferent voice spoke.
“They really are throwing all sorts of trash in here.”
This pale hand applied a bit of pressure. The hand moved as if it were crumpling paper, instantly shattering the barrier. The immortal estate, which had caused Ning Shu such a massive headache, was destroyed like a mere toy. It was broken into pieces and crushed into the dust, merging with the black soil.
The estate was destroyed, and within it, the bodies of Yi Youxuan and Qi Cheng were annihilated in an instant.
A pair of pale hands clapped together, as if brushing off dust.
Then, this pale hand plucked a black flower from the ground. The flower made the hand look even more deathly pale. The contrast of black and white was both stunning and horrific.
In certain worlds, certain people were gods, and were capable of anything.
Ning Shu had a very comfortable sleep. When she woke up, she felt light as a feather, as if she were about to ascend to immortality.
For some reason, she was in an exceptionally good mood. Perhaps it was because she had finally settled the matter of the immortal estate. The whole world seemed to have brightened up.
“Master, Master!” Ye Heyu shouted from outside. “Master, I have something to report.”
Ning Shu opened the door. Ye Heyu cupped his hands and said, “Master, come quickly and look at Little Ugly. The fire on its body is getting bigger and bigger.”
Ye Heyu led Ning Shu to the bird’s nest. The bird was engulfed in raging flames, and the fire was so fierce that the bird’s silhouette could no longer be seen.
Ning Shu frowned. “It is fine. Its aura is getting stronger, so there is no need to worry.”
It seemed this incident with the Innate True Fire had granted this bird a fated opportunity.
“The fire is getting even bigger,” Ye Heyu said worriedly.
“She will come running to me if she cannot take it. We will just wait here. Do not interfere,” Ning Shu said, sitting on the steps and propping her chin in her hand to watch the ‘roasted bird.’
Ye Heyu was not as relaxed as Ning Shu. He had been looking after this bird since it hatched. Seeing it in trouble felt like something was happening to his own daughter or sister. He was frantic.
The bird eventually grew larger and larger. Engulfed in fire, it spread its wings and cried out to the heavens. Finally, it soared into the sky, circling over the entirety of Zisha Island.
Everyone was confused. They assumed that an enemy was attacking, since the creature was covered in flames.
