Chapter 3515: Martial Aunt (32)
Chapter 3515: Martial Aunt (32)
Ning Shu pondered how she might force open the immortal estate. Those two were tucked away inside, working hard at their cultivation. Their progress would be at breakneck speed.
Especially since the flow of time was different for them. There was simply no way to compete with that kind of cheat.
After some thought, Ning Shu injected some water into the crystal-ball barrier. This was the Weak Water she had previously compressed.
Nothing could float on Weak Water. Even a light feather would sink to the bottom.
Ning Shu filled the entire barrier with Weak Water. The immortal estate sat silently in the middle of it, seemingly unaffected by her efforts.
Did the immortal estate not require air?
Ning Shu picked up the crystal ball and held it close to her mouth. "Qi Cheng should be awake by now, right?"
Inside, the cultivating Qi Cheng opened his eyes. "Junior Sister, does doing this really make you happy? Does it bring you joy?"
Ning Shu: …
As if a villain doing bad things wouldn't be happy.
Why would she do it if it didn't make her happy?
Ning Shu said directly, "I am very happy. Exceedingly happy. Seeing you both trapped in there brings me great joy."
"Also, you have been expelled from Zisha Island. Do not call me 'Junior Sister.'"
Qi Cheng paused before saying, "Junior Sister, let us both take a step back. You have already secured the jade token. You are doing this for nothing more than a personal grudge."
"That is right. I just want to settle a personal grudge. Why else would I go to all this trouble? Do you think I have nothing better to do?" Ning Shu said bluntly.
Ning Shu’s honesty left Qi Cheng at a loss for words.
"Master, do not waste your breath on that woman." Yi Youxuan saw her master speaking to Jiang Xueci and felt a surge of displeasure. She immediately put a stop to their conversation.
Qi Cheng nodded and ignored Ning Shu.
"Master, someone from the main hall is here. They want you to go there at once." Ye Heyu’s voice sounded from outside the door.
"Understood." Ning Shu placed the crystal-ball barrier into her storage ring and opened the door.
Ye Heyu asked, "Master, are your injuries any better?"
"Not yet. They are severe. It will likely take some time to recover," Ning Shu said. She noticed the small bird at Ye Heyu’s feet. It had fluffy feathers, though they were a bit sparse and ugly.
Ning Shu began to doubt her own judgment. Was this bratty thing really not a Luan bird?
While a Luan bird could not compare to a phoenix, it was still a type of divine bird.
With this pitiful, scrawny look, how did it resemble a divine bird at all?
But perhaps it was a ‘ugly duckling’ situation where it would look better once it grew up. Ning Shu said to Ye Heyu, "Feed it some spirit fruit. It looks incredibly thin."
"…Master, I feed it every day. It eats a lot, but it just does not grow any meat or get any taller," Ye Heyu said helplessly.
First his sister had despised the bird, and now his master was doing the same.
Bird, you should really show some spine and grow!
Ning Shu flew to the main hall. A group of elders and the sect leader were already there. When they saw her arrive, they all paid their respects.
Ning Shu returned the gesture and asked the sect leader, "Has something happened?"
"I called you here to discuss the matter of the jade token. Now that the token is in our hands, we know a bit more about the situation within the hidden realm," the sect leader said slowly. "Should we extract the treasures inside, or keep it as it is for the disciples' trials?"
Ning Shu thought for a moment. "We should follow a path of sustainable development. Let us keep the hidden realm as a trial ground for the disciples and open it once every ten years. Zisha Island survived for years without having control of the hidden realm. There is no reason we cannot flourish with it now.
"Furthermore, the natural treasures inside will only decrease as we pick them. We should use them sparingly and only take what we need in dire circumstances."
It was better to let the benefits flow slowly over a long time.
The sect leader nodded. "That makes sense. What do the others think?"
The elders looked at one another. Some disagreed, arguing that valuable items and rare treasures should be moved to the sect’s treasury. Otherwise, they would just be wasted on the spirit beasts within the realm.
Others agreed with Ning Shu, saying that things should remain as they were. If Zisha Island ever faced a crisis in the future, the sect could even relocate into the hidden realm.
The hidden realm could serve as a rear base, so it should not be recklessly plundered.
Besides, the fires on Zisha Island had not even been extinguished yet. There was no telling when another problem might arise.
Since the two sides could not reach an agreement, the sect leader turned to the grand elder, who was resting with his eyes closed. "Grand Elder, what do you think?"
The grand elder opened his eyes and said directly, "Do not forget that the person who pushed our Zisha Island to this point is not yet dead. None of us have been able to do anything to her."
Everyone turned to Ning Shu. "Is there truly no way?"
"No. Furthermore, the immortal estate contains all sorts of cultivation resources. I can only trap them for a time. There is no telling when they might break out," Ning Shu said, shaking her head.
Hearing this, the group no longer had the heart to fight over the treasures in the hiden realm. They had a powerful enemy who would surely seek revenge in the future.
"We will follow the instructions of the sect leader and the grand elder," the group said one after another.
As Ning Shu left the main hall, she said to Elder Duan, the alchemist, "The Innate True Fire burning by the shore is a top-tier flame for alchemy."
Elder Duan sighed. "I thought of a way to collect a bit of it, but I do not have a cauldron that can match it. An ordinary cauldron would simply be blown apart by the heat."
"I cannot help you with that. I will keep an eye out for a good cauldron the next time I travel," Ning Shu said, while shaking her head.
Elder Duan gave Ning Shu a bottle of pills. When she opened it, a cooling fragrance wafted out, slightly easing her physical discomfort.
"This is good stuff," Ning Shu said. She accepted it without hesitation.
Elder Duan stroked his beard. "So many people were injured, and I did not give these to anyone else who asked. I only gave them to you."
Ning Shu replied immediately, "Thank you for remembering me, Elder Duan."
"Ahem…" Elder Duan coughed. "I heard you managed to capture the immortal estate of an ancient Divine Dao sect. It must contain some extraordinary cauldrons. I have heard that the legendary cauldrons of old could refine heaven and earth into pills. I doubt I will ever live to see such a thing, but if you find a good one, you must get it for me."
Ning Shu: …
"Old man, that immortal estate currently has a master. I have no way to deal with it at all. You should not get your hopes up," Ning Shu said. With her current strength, she could only keep them locked up.
As Yi Youxuan’s strength grew, she would eventually break free from the current situation.
"I am saying if. If it truly breaks, remember to save a good cauldron for me," Elder Duan said.
Ning Shu sighed and nodded. The immortal estate was a small matter. The real problem was Yi Youxuan.
If Yi Youxuan died, what would happen to the immortal estate? Would it simply go on to create another person just like her?
