Chapter 1478: Chapter 442: Major Event in the South District (2)

After withdrawing the hand, a guy stumbled to his knees on the ground, holding one hand with the other. His index finger, middle finger, and ring finger of his right hand were bent at a ninety-degree angle—bent backward!

The middle-aged woman who had fallen to the ground and the man who was blaming himself both turned pale!

At this moment, a short and stout guy squeezed out of the crowd, shouted something angrily at Chen Yan, and immediately tried to grab Chen Yan’s collar.

Chen Yan squinted at the person; before he could get closer, Chen Yan lifted a foot and kicked him in the chest.

He didn’t use much force, just kicked the man back two steps, and Chen Yan immediately turned and ran!

He ran quickly, pushing away the crowd of onlookers, and then dived into an alley.

The short and stout guy who had been kicked by Chen Yan was originally full of anger, but after retreating a few steps, he found he was not injured. Instead, he saw Chen Yan running frantically into the alley and displayed a smug expression.

With a wave of his hand, two or three people from the crowd, along with the woman who had been tailing them, rushed into the alley to chase him.

·

After Chen Yan ran into the alley, he covered dozens of meters and turned a corner. Hearing the footsteps of pursuit behind him, he deliberately slowed down. After turning the corner, he observed the road ahead—the narrow alley was empty.

Chen Yan stopped and stood in place to wait.

The pursuers ran past the corner one after another and saw Chen Yan standing still. The leader, the short and stout guy, had a fierce grin on his face, shouting a few words at Chen Yan.

Chen Yan wore a calm expression, showing no fear, which made the short and stout guy’s heart skip a beat, but he didn’t have time to think further.

Before long, they started to fight.

The first to charge forward was a man from the group that initially targeted Chen Yan, the one smoking across the street.

He came seemingly to show off, raising his hand to deliver a hard hit to intimidate Chen Yan and make him obediently hand over the money.

However, before his hand could land, Chen Yan took a step forward, grabbed his wrist, and gave it a light shake. The man let out an earth-shattering scream! He immediately dropped to his knees, wailing incessantly.

The others stood dumbfounded, unsure what had happened... Because under the cover of his sleeve, his entire arm had twisted like a pretzel!

The upper and lower parts of his arm had splintered into seventeen or eighteen pieces!

Then, before the other two guys could react, Chen Yan dealt each of them a hard slap on the face.

Both guys fell to the ground sideways, bleeding from their noses and mouths, with blood even oozing from their ears, their eardrums shattered.

The short and stout guy froze.

As Chen Yan approached him, he suddenly turned to run, but Chen Yan gave chase, grabbing his wrist, pulling him back, and twisting his hand.

With a crack, the man’s elbow bent backward at a ninety-degree angle.

Chen Yan kicked him to the ground and then stepped on the guy’s ankle joint.

With a slight pressure from the toes, the guy let out a scream and instantly passed out from shock.

His ankle lay limp and clearly had its joint crushed.

Finally, there was the middle-aged woman who had been trailing him. She trembled with fear, yet her eyes still glinted with a fierce light.

Evidently, she was no ordinary woman but a tough character within a criminal gang.

An ordinary woman would have been terrified or fled by now.

As if confirming Chen Yan’s suspicion, the woman backed away while retrieving a dagger from her bosom, pointing it at Chen Yan.

Chen Yan chuckled, squinting his eyes as he assessed the woman.

Hmm, he was mistaken; she was indeed a formidable character—her fate clearly tainted with a trace of Blood Evil Qi.

This woman carried lives in her hands, and not just one.

In contrast, the men earlier, despite their ferocity, did not have Blood Evil Qi in their fates.

The woman straightened up from her originally feigned bent-over position, glaring fiercely at Chen Yan, muttering something under her breath, which Chen Yan didn’t understand anyway.

But she skillfully flipped the dagger in her fingers, performing a flourish.

"You have good skills; were you in the military? Retired or still serving?" the woman sneered in surprisingly fluent English, looking at Chen Yan.

Chen Yan’s heart stirred, his gaze at her becoming more meaningful.

The woman’s eyes bore a trace of arrogance, coldly sneering, "Don’t think you are great just because you have some skills. Today, you will die here! And your money will be ours."

With that, she swiftly switched the dagger to the other hand, her stance clearly indicating an attack.

"Oh, you’ve got some skills, do you?" Chen Yan smiled. "You’ve practiced then."

The woman did not respond; she didn’t understand Chen Yan’s teasing in Dragon Country Language, but her stance with the dagger clearly showed she had training, at least in some combat techniques.

Chen Yan pursed his lips, retreating a few steps.

The woman’s eyes lit up, thinking Chen Yan was scared.

But just as she stepped forward, attempting to close the distance, her expression suddenly froze!
