"Elder Ancestor Dragon." Even Wang Anye felt that things were going a bit too smoothly and couldn’t help but ask, "The relic is buried within Long Marsh, which should count as your territory, right? Why are you so indifferent, Elder?"

"Since you’re seeking the Blood Venerable’s relic, you must have some understanding of him already." Ancestor Dragon glanced at Wang Anye, his expression somewhat complex.

Wang Anye nodded, carefully choosing his words: "We know he was from the era of the Divine Martial Dynasty and are aware of some of his deeds. It’s said he was one of the Ten Most Wanted Criminals during that time..."

He dared not say much more, fearing that the Blood Venerable might have been a benefactor to the Primordial Water Cyan Dragon Race, which would mean he could be speaking wrongly.

"He wasn’t just a criminal; he was an insane madman." Ancestor Dragon remarked with a sigh, "To speak of it, it’s a bitter past for our Primordial Water Cyan Dragon Race."

"This matter dates back to the time of the Divine Martial Dynasty. At that time, the ancestor of our branch in the Desolate Marsh, a Tier Twelve peak Cyan Dragon Ancestor, was deceived by the Blood Venerable. He was unwittingly captured and thereafter kept as an experimental subject in great agony and humiliation."

As Ancestor Dragon narrated, everyone finally understood the reason.

After the Blood Venerable disappeared, many, many years passed before the sealed and sleeping Cyan Dragon Ancestor awoke. By then, the Blood Venerable’s lair was long deserted.

Without anyone to maintain it, many facilities and seals in the lair had deteriorated over time and due to tectonic shifts, finally allowing the Cyan Dragon Ancestor to break free.

By that time, the outside world had already changed drastically, and the Blood Venerable’s lair had been submerged within a vast desolate marsh.

The Cyan Dragon Ancestor had nowhere to go, so he settled in this Great Marsh, claiming it as his own territory.

Afterwards, while traveling, he discovered a young female Primordial Water Cyan Dragon and brought her back to the Southern Wilderness Ancient Marsh, thus beginning the noble mission of propagating the race.

Although the Cyan Dragon Ancestor had reached Tier Twelve peak, the early years of torment and bloodline extraction had harmed his very foundation, making his physique far inferior to a normal Tier Twelve Primordial Water Cyan Dragon.

Moreover, the long-lasting seal and slumber inflicted irreversible damage on his body, causing him to die much earlier than the typical lifespan of a Tier Twelve Primordial Water Cyan Dragon.

Just before his death, haunted by fear and hatred for the Blood Venerable, he made his descendant dragons swear never to enter the Blood Venerable’s relic.

This ancestral oath of the dragon race was thus passed down through generations; every Primordial Water Cyan Dragon, upon reaching maturity, took an oath guided by an Elder to uphold the Ancestor Dragon’s decree.

"Elder Ancestor Dragon, what you mean is that you’re both afraid of and curious about the inside of the Blood Venerable’s relic." Wang Anye suddenly realized, "That’s why you hope someone else will go in to investigate for you."

"That’s right." Ancestor Dragon chuckled, "The secrets within the Blood Venerable’s relic have tormented this old dragon for a lifetime. Seeing as you, young one, seem pleasing to me, I naturally want to go along with it."

"Is that fine?" Chi Mei Demon Envoy exchanged glances with Old Yao, thinking this was indeed quite a windfall for Anye.

"Despite that, Elder, I’m still a bit uneasy about receiving such benefits for nothing." Wang Anye pondered briefly, "Perhaps you should set some conditions, Elder."

Chi Mei Demon Envoy’s expression froze momentarily.

What can you say about this boy? The Elder Ancestor Dragon has already agreed to let you in, you could just accept and make it simple and smooth, right?

Who voluntarily asks the other party to set conditions? Isn’t that like sticking your neck out to be slaughtered?

Ah, Anye, this boy is good in many ways, but he lacks life experience and clearly hasn’t been hardened by the brutal world.

"Great, great~ Anye, you’re indeed a good child, I, Ancestor Dragon, haven’t misjudged you." Ancestor Dragon said happily, "If you truly want to compensate, why don’t you gift our Primordial Water Cyan Dragon Race some Spirit Beef? It’s all because of my excessive appetite that our dragon race has become quite poor. They’ve hardly tasted any good food from birth to adulthood."

"That’s a small issue." Wang Anye waved his hand grandly, "Let’s send five hundred head."

"Pfft!"

Beside him, Wang Anxin nearly spat out blood and quickly pulled Wang Anye aside, saying, "Brother, one Tier Five Snow Patterned Spiritual Ox weighs thirty thousand pounds when ready for market and fetches a total price of four to five hundred thousand Qian Gold. Five hundred head would equate to two to three billion Qian Gold~!"

That amount is almost equivalent to a decent Divine Power Spirit Treasure.

Wang Anxin knew that his elder brother was different from others, having little concept of money, and not being well aware of the difficulty and price of raising a Snow Patterned Spiritual Ox. He worried that Wang Anye’s boldness came from a lack of understanding.

"That’s too much, too much. About one or two hundred head will suffice." Those few dragons from the Ao Family, although tempted by those five hundred Snow Patterned Spiritual Oxen, were really startled by the value and hastily declined modestly, "If each dragon can get one head, we’ll be very satisfied."

"No matter, wealth is precious, but friendship is priceless." Wang Anye said calmly, "Since I mentioned five hundred head, then it shall be five hundred. Anxin, follow up on this matter later. If it’s beyond our Wang Family’s means, you can use my Identity Token to borrow from the Imperial Family."
