Chapter 1314 - 28: Preparing to Nurture! Primordial Water Cyan Dragon Clan 1_3

"Awoowoo~ Traitor Wang Lilong, you and I..."

"Everyone, be quiet."

Ao Jiuxiao and Wang Anye shouted simultaneously, suppressing the two troublemakers.

Then those serving tea served tea, and various fruits and snacks were presented. Only then did Wang Anye gesture to Wang Anxin, indicating they could begin.

"Swish!"

Wang Anxin was well-prepared, hanging a large map on the rack.

The map was densely filled with various information and data.

Standing beside it, he pointed at the contents and spoke eloquently: "Based on the information we’ve gathered, the Southern Wilderness Ancient Marsh is about two and a half times the size of Longzuo County. Due to alternating droughts and floods, most species can’t survive, only some amphibious and semi-aquatic plants can dwell there, resulting in a general scarcity of resources."

"Let’s look at this map first. This is the source of Anjiang, the Ancient Great Snow Mountain. It flows majestically past Southern Qin and then reaches our Daqian, rushing eastward to the East Sea. The upper reaches are mostly mountainous, but when too much water accumulates during the rainy season upstream, it creates floods, impacting the plains and low-lying areas downstream."

"The low-lying terrain of the Southern Wilderness Ancient Marsh was formed through repeated impacts from Anjiang’s flooding."

His clear logic, paired with the detailed map, swiftly helped the dragons understand the origin of the Southern Wilderness Ancient Marsh.

"Here, everyone look at this map; this is the river embankment and water control gate at the Great Wilderness Marsh’s mouth, which our Wang family began constructing over eighty years ago," Wang Anxin said. "Has anyone noticed that the water levels of the Southern Wilderness Ancient Marsh have been decreasing over the past few decades? Many highlands have gradually become dry land."

"Good heavens, so you humans are behind this!" Ao Juechen slammed the table, his face extremely unpleasant. "We were wondering why the water was dwindling, even the water in our ancestral ground, Long Marsh, has become several feet shallower, reducing its size more and more."

"Juechen elder, please calm down," Wang Anxin said calmly. "Previously, the droughts and floods in the Southern Wilderness Ancient Marsh were determined by nature, but this wasn’t conducive to the development of the Southern Wilderness Ancient Marsh area."

"Whether it’s drought or flood, our Primordial Water Cyan Dragon Race can survive, which has nothing to do with you humans," Ao Juechen was extremely enraged, unwilling to listen to the chatter of these humans.

He glared at Wang Anxin, and then at Wang Anye, angrily saying, "Now, you must immediately dismantle the embankment and gates and get out of our Primordial Water Cyan Dragon territory. Otherwise, don’t blame us for being unkind!"

"The elder is correct, survival, but only just survival," Wang Anxin wasn’t afraid of his threats at all, continuing to speak at his own pace, "Our Wang family has done some small intelligence investigations. The Primordial Water Cyan Dragon Race currently has one Tier Eleven Ancestor Dragon, two Tier Ten Dragons, and six Tier Nine, with the total number of Tier Seven to Eight True Dragons barely over a hundred. It’s like a thin dragon population, just barely maintaining the clan."

The detailed intelligence made the faces of the three dragons change significantly.

Over the thousands of years, the clan size of the Primordial Water Cyan Dragon Race indeed had been declining. But how could these humans know so clearly?

"The Southern Wilderness Ancient Marsh is vast, but the appetite of dragons during their growth process isn’t small," Wang Anxin said. "Moreover, in the snake and python forms, dragons are too weak and often become prey when hunting."

"In the Jiao form it gets better, but due to overall lack of resources, most Jiao miss their best growth period confusedly, ultimately failing to transform into dragons. It is said that out of a hundred Jiao, perhaps only one can transform into a dragon."

Ao Juechen’s old face twitched twice: "Since ancient times, our Primordial Water Cyan Dragon lineage has grown this way. Only dragons that grow through the harsh trial of weak prey are truly part of the Dragon Race."

"No, that’s because you’re too poor," Wang Anxin’s expression was calm and unfluctuating, but his words stabbed right at the pain of the Dragon Race, "It’s a classic case of giving birth to many but unable to support them, relying only on internal competition to survive, gorgeously called ’harsh trial.’"

Ao Juechen was so infuriated that smoke almost rose from his head, ready to explode, when he heard Wang Anxin continue, "Grand Elder Juechen, I’ll ask you one thing. Do you want your Primordial Water Cyan Dragon Race’s numbers to break a thousand?"

"What? Break a thousand?"

Ao Juechen paused.

He forgot to explode immediately, paused for a while before reacting, angrily questioning, "You brat, are you crazy? A thousand Primordial Water Cyan Dragons, how can our Desolate Marsh support so many?"

"Elder Juechen, please look, this is a food chain diagram~"

Wang Anxin said as he produced another map, pointing at its content to explain: "Here’s the sunlight, here’s the soil, here’s the plants. Within our Wang Family, we call plants ’producers’. They produce pastures, grains, and beans using sunlight, soil, and other nutrient supplements."

"Up a level are herbivores like cattle and sheep, and some fish species that can digest a variety of plants and seeds to grow."

"Above them are carnivorous predators like the Desolate Swamp Ferocious Crocodile."

"Only above them is your Primordial Water Cyan Dragon Race. Given the geographic environment, your Primordial Water Cyan Dragons mainly feed on Desolate Swamp Ferocious Crocodiles and some fish species. The availability of this food dictates the prosperity or decline of your dragon clan."

"From this food chain, we can see that we can cultivate a large amount of pasture and beans through enclosure, to raise more cattle and sheep. Meanwhile, concentrate on breeding Desolate Swamp Ferocious Crocodiles and releasing fish species."
