“Here is your token as an 8th Circle Mage. And this badge here symbolizes your title as the Supreme Mage.”
William handed Allen the identity token for the 8th Circle Mage and Allen’s badge for his Supreme Mage title.
The 8th Circle Mage token was rectangular, with edges that curved upwards. It was made out of gold and magic crystals. There were 8 circles carved on the token, which symbolized his rank as an 8th Circle Mage.
The Supreme Mage badge was a circular gold-colored pin that was made up of magic crystals that were known for their durability. There was a magic hood symbol engraved on the badge that was of platinum color with golden lines on the edges.
From that alone, Allen already knew that the Supreme Mage badge was specially made for him since the magic hood symbol was the same as the white cloak that he was currently wearing.
Storing the 8th Circle Mage token in his system inventory while wearing the Supreme Mage badge on his white cloak, Allen’s aura was that of a dignified and proper mage. Coupled with his handsome appearance that could slap the face of the crown prince at least ten times, Allen, with his mage outfit, was no different from those nobles.
After all, like the nobles, Allen also had his own title, and his rank as a mage was the highest. If his 8th Circle Mage rank was enough to be on par with the rank of a king, then his Supreme Mage title allowed him to be on top of a king in rank.
So even if the king of the Gaia Kingdom ordered him for an audience, Allen could choose whether to attend or not, and the king couldn’t even force him to attend lest they want an 8th Circle Mage as the enemy of their kingdom.
Alisceon’s current situation was excellent as she had the backing of the most powerful mage that could ignore the orders of any ruler.
“Before I forget, here is the monthly allowance for being an 8th Circle Mage. You will get additional money if you fulfill the task posted by the Mage’s Association.”
William took out a leather pouch from the drawers of the receptionist’s table. Placing the leather pouch on the receptionist’s table, he pushed it towards Allen, signaling him to take it.
Allen wouldn’t say no to free money, so he took it and opened it to inspect the amount of money that was inside the leather pouch.
There were 10 platinum coins inside the leather pouch. It might be a small amount considering that 10 platinum coins were only 100 gold coins, but one should know that it was income without an 8th Circle Mage doing anything.
(10 copper coins = 1 silver coin
10 silver coins = 1 gold coin
10 gold coins = 1 platinum coin)
And as William had informed Allen, Allen would receive more money if he fulfilled the task posted by the Mage’s Association. So the Mage’s Association was similar to the Adventurer’s Guild, with the difference that the Mage’s Association posted only magic-related tasks and only accepted mages to be part of the Mage’s Association.
And one platinum coin was enough for a commoner family to live for one generation. So, if Allen wanted to, he could easily live a slow life with his monthly income of 10 platinum coins.
After inspecting the amount of money stored inside the leather pouch, Allen stored it not in his system inventory but inside a pocket within his white mage cloak, so that it would be more convenient for him to take out money without having to rely too much on the system.
“I have the corpse of a magic beast in my storage magic. Can I exchange it for money?”
“As long as it’s a magic beast and not a normal beast, the Mage’s Association will exchange it for money. And if the corpse is in good condition, additional money will be provided.”
Receiving that answer from William, Allen took out numerous magic beast corpses from the system inventory.
William was shocked yet again, since the magic beast corpses were not in good condition but excellent condition! It was as if the magic beast’s corpses were the same as before but just lost their lives.
And after seeing the magic beast that was at the Highest Realm Initial Stage in excellent condition, William knew that Allen was worthy of his rank as an 8th Circle Mage. Even other 8th Circle Mages wouldn’t be confident in claiming that they could kill a Highest Realm Initial Stage magic beast without damaging its corpse.
William assumed that Allen must have used his mana manipulation to kill the Highest Realm Initial Stage magic beast since he noticed that the brain of the magic beast was crushed from the inside. And William’s assumption wasn’t wrong since that was what Allen had done to kill the Highest Realm Initial Stage magic beast.
William started to calculate Allen’s profits from the magic beast corpses, and after that, he took out the money from the receptionist’s table.
“All of the magic beast corpses are worth 82 platinum coins. And for the magic corpses being in excellent condition, I’ll add another 8 platinum coins. So 90 platinum coins in total.”
William handed Allen another leather pouch and it contained exactly 90 platinum coins.
Taking the leather pouch from William’s hand, Allen stored it in the system inventory so that such a large amount of money wouldn’t be lost. He wasn’t stupid enough to store it in his mage cloak, and not to mention that doing so would add unnecessary weight to his mage cloak.
After finishing his business with the Mage’s Association and registering Alisceon as his student, Allen, Alisceon, and Iris exited the building of the Mage’s Association.
“Where is your mansion, Alisceon? You do know that I don’t have any place to live here.”
Allen asked his student shamelessly. Even with the amount of his money, it would still take a day for him to acquire land, so he shamelessly asked to stay in his student’s mansion.
After letting out a sigh, Alisceon led Allen and Iris to her mansion.
