246 The First Princess Of Gaia Kingdom Is At Her Wit's End
[Supreme Order (Admin): I will take your word for that.]
Receiving Deus’ message, Allen agreed to him before he closed the system screens for the chat group.
Just in time, the princess snapped out of her depression as she glared at him with a much stronger and burning resolve than before. She wasn’t a princess for nothing since her mental state and willpower were a lot stronger than the average human.
Using that to her advantage, she asked Allen once again.
“Can you please make me your student?”
When Allen was about to refuse again, the princess noticed his subtle actions despite Allen’s white cloak almost concealing most of his face, so she added another sentence to her earlier question.
“What are your requirements for accepting me as your student?”
Alisceon inquired to the white-clocked mage as she clenched her hands tightly. She was at her wit’s end, and she would do anything to become the student of the white-clocked mage.
Alisceon was quite smart, so she already suspected the identities of the four of them, but despite that, she knew that she had no other choice than to become the student of the white-cloaked mage, or else she wouldn’t be able to have any more standing in the Gaia Kingdom.
Despite her identity as the first princess, only a few nobles supported her, and they only kept supporting her due to their loyalty to her mother. But unlike her other royal siblings, she has the weakest support and standing in the royal lineage, so there were no chances for her to ascend the throne.
She didn’t care much about the throne, but she was fearful for her life. Even if she was no longer deemed a competitor by her royal siblings, that didn’t mean that her royal siblings wouldn’t attempt to kill her or cripple all of her chances of rising back up.
Just like what is happening to her right now. It was a wake-up call for her that made her realize just how cruel the battle for the throne was. Despite being her siblings, they didn’t mind orchestrating her demise just so that she wouldn’t be a threat to them.
Her royal siblings dared to do that since she didn’t have any powerful backer and that was why she was desperate to become the student of the white-cloaked mage. She had a feeling that the white-clocked mage was a lot stronger than the old mage of the Mystic Forest and not to mention a lot younger than him.
If Alisceon couldn’t become the student of the old mage of the Mystic Forest, she knew that she had to do whatever it took to become the student of the white-cloaked mage in front of her. Her life depended on it since if she didn’t become his student and make him her backer, she knew that her demise at the hands of her royal siblings would be inevitable.
After all, if she became the student of a powerful mage that was possibly as strong as the Gaia Kingdom’s royal court mage, if not stronger, her royal siblings would think twice about offending her lest they incur the wrath of her backer.
That was why she didn’t mind whether the white-cloaked mage was from an enemy kingdom or saved her with evil intentions. The royal family had already forsaken her, so she was at her wit’s end. If not for her identity as the First Princess, she would have died long ago, just like what happened to the Fourth Princess.
She didn’t want her life to end at the age of 15 since she knew that there were many things that life had to offer, but without power and a backer, she knew that her status as the First Princess could only let her live this long.
So even if she had to sell her pride and dignity or even her body, she would do whatever it took to become the white-cloaked mage’s student. And besides, it was not like the white-cloaked mage was an ugly bastard since she had taken a glance at his appearance before, and she knew that he was the most handsome man that she had ever met. Even the appearance of her brothers couldn’t compete with the white-cloaked mage’s appearance.
Not to mention, the white-cloaked mage’s maid was too beautiful to the point that she was at least twice as beautiful as she was. Even Alisceon had to admit that the white-cloaked mage’s maid was much more beautiful than she, despite Alisceon being known as the most beautiful princess in the Gaia Kingdom.
Well, not that it mattered anyway, since it seemed that the white-cloaked mage was still contemplating her question to him, which made her a lot more nervous than before.
Alisceon didn’t know if the white-cloaked mage would consider letting her become his disciple since she didn’t have a lot to offer him. She was well aware that her royal siblings could offer the white-cloaked mage more benefits than her, which made her depressed about her current situation.
Even she wasn’t confident that she could give the white-cloaked mage enough benefits to make him accept her as his student. After all, she knew that there was no such thing as a free lunch in this world and if she wanted something, she needed to pay something in return for what she wanted.
Not to mention, she was well aware that aside from her great affinity and high magic talent and possibly her status as the First Princess, she couldn’t offer anything to the white-cloaked mage to persuade him to become his student.
Well, if she was left with no choice, she might have to sell herself if the white-cloaked mage didn’t accept her as his student. But contrary to her expectations, it seemed that she didn’t have to go that far since the white-cloaked mage had already made his decision.
“You don’t need to be nervous. I wouldn’t have saved you if I hadn’t intended to accept you as my student. How about we talk about it more?”
