198 It's All A Dream (6)
“Sigh, will I awaken a <Supreme> talent or not?”
When Allen asked that question to himself, he was startled as something appeared in front of him.
[Ding!]
[Compatible host has been detected!]
[Will the entity “Allen Walker” accept to become the host of the Supreme Luck System?]
[Yes] | [No]
When Allen saw that a system screen appeared in front of him as it called itself “Supreme Luck System”, he was beyond shock since he knew that he wasn’t hallucinating.
Well, maybe he was, considering that he had previously overdosed on a bottle of sleeping pills, so hallucination must be one of its side effects.
Like any other sane person, Allen did what an average person would do when they encounter a system. He ignored it.
“I don’t know if I am hallucinating or not but I do know one thing. I should just ignore it. Since if this wasn’t a hallucination, and what is in front of me is really a system invitation, it might be a trap.”
“As for whether I should tap the ‘No’ button or not, why will I do that? What if it’s also a trap and it’s rigged?”
Allen muttered to himself as he started to weigh his options on whether he should ignore or interact with the system screen in front of him.
He ultimately came to a decision on ignoring the system screen since he was too cautious to the point that he doubted whether the [No] button on the system screen was legit or rigged.
The [No] button might also be a [Yes] button in disguise and because of that possibility, Allen didn’t plan in taking any chances to test it or not. Even if he was desperate to become a Supreme, he wasn’t desperate enough to accept the invitation of a shady system.
The reason why he found it shady was because it was too coincidental that just several minutes after his younger brother told him that he would likely get the <Supreme Luckster> talent, a “Supreme Luck” System appeared in front of him.
Allen wasn’t sure whether he would awaken a <Supreme Luckster> talent or not. And if not, was the Supreme Luck System the reason for him obtaining the <Supreme Luckster> talent?
If the Supreme Luck System was indeed legit and it didn’t scam him, it might be possible that it was the reason why he obtained the <Supreme Luckster> talent. And if he didn’t accept the Supreme Luck System’s invitation, wouldn’t that be equal to letting go of his chances of becoming a Supreme?
But like he had resolved himself before, he wasn’t that desperate to become a Supreme to the point of accepting the Supreme Luck System’s invitation, which he found shady.
With that in mind, he planned to just ignore it and sleep so that when he woke up, the system invitation might finally be gone. Just as he was going to walk towards his bed, he stepped on a liquid and slippery substance on the wooden floor of his which caused him to slip forward.
‘Oh fuck.’
Allen cursed in his mind and just as he had expected, he fell forward and his nose touched the [No] button as his body passed through the system screen in front of him.
That was when he knew, he fucked up.
[Ding!]
[Congratulations to the entity ‘Allen Walker’ for becoming the host of the Supreme Luck System!]
[To know more about the Supreme Luck System, chant “Guide” and the system will launch a protocol that will let the System AI take over the Supreme Luck System. The System AI will teach the host what he will need to do and how to use the system.]
[Have a nice day! ;)]
“Have a nice day my ass!”
Allen cursed as he started lashing out any profanities he could think of toward the system.
“I knew it! The ‘No’ button was rigged!”
“Now I know why the majority of the protagonists in system novels never tapped the ‘No’ button and tapped the ‘Yes’ button instead. Rather than being tricked by the system, it’s better to just accept the inevitable outcome and deal with it.”
With Allen’s current experience during this eventful turn of events, he could now proclaim himself a protagonist. Someone with very bad luck considering he was not only rigged by the system, but he also slipped and tapped the ‘No’ button despite him not wanting to.
From the unique system novels that he had read, systems were known as soul parasites, and the biggest clue that they were was because they called their owner “Host” instead of master, boss, or something.
And the most troublesome and annoying systems to deal with were the sentient systems and from what he had comprehended from the system, he was left with no choice but to have a sentient system since there was a System AI.
Since systems were soul parasites, then it was sentient, so without any remorse, it tricked him into becoming its host. It was something that Allen couldn’t accept.
For him to be tricked? He could accept if someone ridiculed or insulted him but he would never accept it if someone tricked him and not to mention pulling it off successfully!
So currently, Allen hated the system and the amount of hate he has for the system was the same amount of hate he would have for the murderer of his brother. Not that his brother was murdered or anything. But if his brother was murdered, then the hate he has for that murderer was the same as the hate he has for the system.
Since it dared to trick him, then he won’t be forgiving towards it.
‘Let’s see if this system will become desperate or not after I torture it.’
With that thought in his mind, his mouth arched up as he grinned evilly, planning to be the first protagonist to torture his own system.
If he wasn’t wrong and if the system novels he had read were true, then he could indeed torture his system.
As for how he will do it…
