Chapter 1862: Chapter 1865: Local Tyrant

Sword Island!

Southwest direction.

Inside a mountain cave.

"Clang! Clang! Clang!"

The sound of metal striking stone kept echoing out.

Inside the cave, there were about a dozen slaves chained by their feet and hands, struggling to mine the black ore.

"Damn it! You bunch of bastards, work hard!"

A fellow who looked like a Supervisor swung his whip a few times, and when he saw those beaten people screaming in fright, he was satisfied and took a sip from a small flask he pulled out from his chest.

Then he walked towards the cave exit: "Damn it, staying in this place is really uncomfortable!"

After the Supervisor left, one of the slaves who had been screaming in fear suddenly had a cold, snake-like glare in his eyes.

This person was the local ringleader, Sao Bao, who was transported first.

"I’m going, get everything set up, if there’s any commotion, notify me immediately."

Sao Bao whispered to his fellow clansmen beside him.

"King, I know!"

Sao Bao’s clansman replied in a low voice.

Soon, the seemingly unbreakable shackles on Sao Bao’s body suddenly detached.

As the shackles hit the ground with a dull thud, Sao Bao hunched over and sneaked into an adjacent dark area.

In the blink of an eye, Sao Bao disappeared into the dark corner.

As he left, about ten of Sao Bao’s fellow clansmen, except for three who continued mining normally, began to fiddle with the things in their hands.

These were various pieces of equipment taken from Xiao Zhi, including surveillance, intelligence gathering, measuring tools, and some small weapons.

The device that unlocked Sao Bao’s shackles was one of them.

The location of the one-way random Transmission Array’s general coordinates was known.

Unfortunately, they were transported to a mining area, and to avoid drawing attention and gather intelligence, they were docile to the Supervisors who discovered them and drove them to mine.

Mining was no hardship for them, living underground for generations; it was simply everyday labor.

They were even using these tunnels to start their mission—to build an underground base!

Today was the third day; after tonight, tomorrow, the Reconnaissance Troops from the Hundred Thousand Iron Cavalry would arrive, so the task was urgent!

...

Underground, Sao Bao looked at the already forming underground base with satisfaction.

Due to the presence of ore veins, they quickly procured local materials, using the ores to reinforce the base’s surroundings.

At the moment, although this underground base wasn’t completely fortified, it could prevent ordinary people from probing!

Nearby were three former clansmen marked as dead by the Supervisors, continuing to expand the base!

After studying the information provided by those Blood Continent geologists and the convenient tools given by Xiao Zhi, their excavation efficiency was fast.

"King, we’ve figured out the Supervisors’ actions. Luckily, tonight they’ll hand over a batch of ores. After the handover, the next visit will be at least three days later!"

Another clansman came from another direction, whispering to Sao Bao.

"Good!"

Sao Bao nodded in satisfaction.

Then he scanned the small group leaders who had infiltrated from various tunnels and said: "Once the ore handover is completed tonight, prepare to act! Leave no one behind!"

By the end, Sao Bao’s smile disappeared entirely, turning into icy killing intent!

"Understood!"

The clansmen small leaders nodded in agreement.

The task went smoothly; with planning and surprise, those Supervisors wouldn’t suspect they were warriors from another island and not local refugees or people from small worlds!

And tonight, they’ll reveal their fangs hidden for three days!

Sao Bao looked with satisfaction at the condition of his clansmen, gestured with both hands, and the small leaders dispersed.

After everyone left, Sao Bao turned and entered an adjacent dry room.

Inside were piles of disorganized papers, and some memory cards placed here.

These were various intelligence collected by the clansmen over the past three days, with diverse sources and content.

Some were learned from fellow slaves, some overheard from Supervisors boasting, and some gathered by small reconnaissance robots.

A mess, but for someone like Sao Bao, who once single-handedly carved out a foundation on Gourd Island and even acquired the invaluable World Tree Seed, he still found much-needed intelligence.

It was this intelligence that confirmed the general plan moving forward.

And now, he needed further sorting to obtain information useful for the forthcoming army!

...

Not long after!

"Ding ding ding!"

A communication device on Sao Bao sounded: "King! A Supervisor is heading this way!"

"Okay, I know!"

Sao Bao closed the documents, exited the room, and followed the passage back to his original cave.

When he put on his shackles again, the somewhat drunken Supervisor returned.

The Supervisor looked at the small piles of ore on the ground and burst into a satisfied laugh: "Not bad! Keep working well, so you can survive! Hahaha!"

After saying this, the Supervisor shook his nearly empty flask, frustratedly patted his head, and turned to leave again!

Evidently, he found his drink insufficient and went to refill!

"King, should we go back underground?"

The clansmen looked around and whispered to Sao Bao.

"Forget it, no need to risk it. Wait until these fools hand over the ores tonight," Sao Bao shook his head.

"Understood!"

The clansmen nodded.

Sao Bao watched his busy clansmen, smiled, gripped the mining tool in his hand, and slammed it hard against the ore vein before him.

This time, he wasn’t pretending for the Supervisors but genuinely mining the ore.

Because he knew the ores mined from midday won’t be shipped off tonight but kept till next time.

Meaning, from now on, the ores mined would be for their use!

As for those fools, let them enjoy their final moments!

The mission was successful; hopefully, when Lord Lu arrives, Sao Bao could request him to provide another place for their clan to thrive on this island?

Land, after all, is never too much!
