Chapter 642 - 642: Reason
“Inexperience, huh? That’s one way to interpret worthiness. But why me? You know I’m a human and you’d be in constant danger in the Vraven Kingdom, right? Beastkin are outlaws by default, after all.”
She shook her head. “Father said you’re a unique being. You’re not a human supremacist, and not only that, but you’re adored by a dogkin. He saw the eyes with which your ‘golden retriever’ stared at you, he said she was a woman who was ready to give you everything of herself and more. I don’t know if she’s your slave or not, but one thing’s for certain, she loves you more than anything. You’re her most important person in the world.”
She then chuckled, “And that’s not all. You also have an elf lover, which tells me you’re open to interacting with other races. The only thing you’re missing is a dwarf, but…”
“I don’t dare. Miss Elf would cut my balls off in my sleep.”
“Exactly, hehe!”
Once Kitsara laughed enough, she let a long sigh out. “All that is to say, you’re a man of great means, backed by a large organization. The Red-Eyed Demon is famous for her unhinged persona, but Father says she was very protective of you. She was looking for rogue threats even while pretending not to be on high alert. Combined with your unnaturally accommodating personality when it comes to members of other races, I thought it was my greatest chance, so I decided to strike.”
She then whimpered dejectedly, “But I failed… Who knew a random lowborn criminal would not fall for a princess when she presented herself in front of him in such skimpy clothes…? Even if you don’t find my body attractive, you should’ve popped a raging boner merely thanks to the mental satisfaction of bedding a royal princess! That’s something you could brag about for the rest of your life! Or what, you consider me a real animal? You know humping me is not beastiality, right?”
Ignoring her rather crude whining spree considering her station, I asked something I found strange. “Wait, your father told you to seduce me?”
Another burst of laughter welcomed my words. “Goddess, no! Hehe! I’m assuming he’s having a heart attack right about now, my maids must’ve updated him on what I’d been up to. Father only told me I should introduce myself and get to know you better. By that, he meant I should ask you to accompany me for tea or walk around the palace with my squad of maids in tow, not that I should throw myself at you like a loose slut. I’m pretty sure he meant to hire you as my bodyguard if we clicked well. Once we get back to the palace, I’m getting grounded, 100%.”
The thick clouds veiling this mysterious woman’s strange actions were finally beginning to clear up.
“I see. I hope your father doesn’t do something brash,” I said, thinking he might attempt to kidnap my lovers if he thought I took Kitsara hostage.
“No, he wouldn’t do that, for he knows me very well… You’re not the only one who calls me too cunning for a dogkin, Father always said so too. And even then, I’m nearly fifty years old, it’s about time he stops treating me like his little princess and lets me select my husband. Hmph.” A cute snort finished her response.
“I do get him though, aren’t princesses valuable diplomacy tools for lack of a better term? If a human princess opened her legs for a man of her choosing, she would be publicly shamed and her life would change drastically.”
A wry expression came onto her lips. “Father is an old man, all he wants for me is to be happy. He married his firstborn son and heir to a sheepkin princess centuries ago, that’s as far as diplomacy went in this tribe. Other races don’t want anything to do with dogkin, not even our fellow canines.”
“He did what? I meant that he should marry you to a strong vassal of his, not to outsiders. A dogkin can’t impregnate a sheepkin, that’s a futile marriage.”
“Indeed, that marriage is just for appearances. I feel sorry for that poor girl… It’s a sign of submission the sheepkin must make as our protectorates. My brother can marry any woman he wants as secondary wives, but she can’t have another husband. She’s destined to be a dutiful wife who never births offspring.”
I didn’t know what to say, that was just sad. This mindset was likely why Kitsara assumed she must give herself to me in exchange of gaining my help.
Perhaps sensing my distaste for this custom of theirs, Kitsara spoke up with a lighter tone. “On a bright note, I heard she lays with my brother quite often and he treats her with love and care, I think she’s made peace with her role in life. In exchange for her sacrifice, her people enjoy the protection of the dogkin, and she gets to boss around strong dogkin women who could break her in half thanks to her head wife status.”
“That’s great to hear.”
The woman sitting next to me began nervously fiddling with her fingers once again while stealing glances at me. “So… Is that a no?”
I couldn’t help but smile, she was rather adorable. “No, I won’t take you as my lover. One could argue I’m a cheater by definition of having a harem, but I have my own set of rules I live by. I only accept women into the harem I love.”
Her lips trembled before a tear raced down her cheek, and then another.
“Why are you acting like your life is over?”
“Why? I failed, that’s why! Now I have to find another way to explore the vast world, but I don’t even know where to start…”
“Why are you assuming you must part your legs before me to travel with us?”
Confusion overcame her previously sorrowful expression. Her tears stopped streaming down her cheeks. “I-I don’t have to submit?”
“Kitsara, I have a secret to share with you.”
My words caught her attention based on how she snapped her head my way.
“I don’t like submissive women.”
“Huh?”
“It’s fun if a woman submits to me in bed after acting all feisty beforehand, I enjoy that greatly. But when they’re desperate all the time, I’m not gonna lie, it’s a major turnoff. My girls always feel the need to remind me of the fact I have strange tastes, and perhaps they’re right because I just love strong, independent women. Blade, the samurai woman who is my second in command, even beat my ass all black and blue once when she didn’t like how I talked smack to her.”
“Wait, she did what?”
I chuckled as the memory resurfaced. “Yeah… Can you believe it? I told her I could easily become a better swordsman if I put my mind to it, so she took it upon herself to dress up in nothing but bandages that were barely enough to cover her privates and equipped a blunt training sword while I was dressed in Rare-tier armor and had a mighty sword in my hand. She then proceeded to pummel me for a day straight because I refused to tap out. Every cell of mine ached after that. Even months later, we’re still having sword duels because of that… Though she can’t kick my butt so one-sidedly as she did back then.”
Kitsara kept eyeing me as if I’d just gone mad before she burst into jovial laughter. “You can’t be serious! Hahaha!”
“I said nothing but the truth, the whole truth…” I admitted wryly, forcing this fox girl to increase the volume of her laughter. So much so the Arch-Priest and his crowd of listeners perked their ears.
“Who’s there?!” one of them shouted, and I could hear people moving toward us.
Kitsara immediately quieted, but it was too late.
“Can you turn us invisible? Or at least hard to detect?” I asked, but she shook her head. “My powers only work on me for now… I need to grow more tails to affect others.”
“I see… You better hold on tight then.” I stood and reached behind her back with one hand and under her sensual thighs with the other, and used my wind powers to rocket toward the skies with breakneck speed.
“Kyaaaaa!! Just what the hell is your class?!” she cried cutely.
“Who knows…”
