Chapter 382 - Realisation
Despite being in the later rounds of the Primordial tournament, the next three battles were not as difficult as Shane expected them to become.
By making use of the new passive skill he had obtained, Shane tried to take advantage of the mysterious state he could attain. He planned to intimidate his opponents before overpowering them with the enormous amount of mana he utilized.
However, this was easier said than done and his body took a huge toll due to the continued fights and overclocking of all the techniques. Though that didn't slow him down and he combined using the [Warrior's heart] passive skill in addition to everything else he had already exerted in the fights before.
The passive skill allowed him to use much more mana, strengthening him to an unattainable extent for any being at the Basic Primordial Dimensions, but it almost tore him apart every single time he used it.
Nevertheless, he had to adjust his body and the next three battles demonstrated his superiority intimidating the following opponents, forcing him to use less mana with each subsequent battle.
Because of that, he could lessen his body's burden instead of increasing it further.
Unfortunately, Shane's arrogance was only fueling the strongest opponents who decided to unleash their hidden powers too.
Shane was not sure how strong some of them were, but the toll their body took was similar to his, which was most likely the reason for them to hold back before.
This was not possible anymore because Shane had forced some to release their hidden trumps, in turn, forcing their opponents to follow suit.
In the end, everyone had released their strongest martial art techniques, skills, attacks, special traits, and occupations with forbidden techniques, increasing the number of deaths tremendously.
As such, only 24 participants were left, with everyone having subjected their bodies to massive exertion.
Now, using tactics instead of raw powers was bound to take the front seat.
If Shane were to utilize his entire strength in the next fight, he wouldn't be able to hold back at all, because his opponent would release everything he had to!
This would either rip his body apart, cause injuries, or force him to give up in the next round.
Shane's excitement hadn't died down at all, instead, it had intensified with every passing round and fight he spectated.
Nobody was giving their opponent any room to fight and everyone was using their utmost efforts and unfathomable talent in the relentless attempts to gain the upper hand, to defeat, or even inflict a single injury!
Unfortunately, he had to forcefully suppress his excitement, so as to allow him to think more clearly.
The Primordial tournament was at its peak and everyone had a mana purity of 97%- 99%, an occupation at the [Diamond] quality, and a high chance of possessing at least one unique trait that further strengthened them.
There were only two exceptions!
Jason with his mana purity below 90%, and his non-existent occupation was one of them.
The other exception was a gorgeous, light blue skinned woman, with pointy ears, long purple hair cascading down her back, and a slim physique.
She was truly beautiful, there was no doubt about that, but Shane couldn't help but feel that his luck had thrown him into Hell itself.
'A Dark Ice Elf!!!'
He had never personally seen a Dark Ice Elf, but he had seen two forest elves and the pictures of Dark Ice Elves!
There were only two differences the female Dark Ice Elf in front of him had, to those he had seen in pictures. Her eyes were purple and there were two black horns growing from her forehead.
Because Elves were an Intermediate race, a Dark Ice Elf shouldn't have been able to join the Basic Primordial tournament, let alone enter the dimension.
However, Shane had already seen a case similar to the gorgeous elf in front of him; Princess Ilya!
Princess Ilya was a Superior Elemental who would enter the Intermediate dimension upon awakening her system, but she had to destroy her cultivation because of the two repulsive elements wreaking havoc within her body.
Shane didn't know more than that, but he assumed that the Emperor and Empress had to use a certain item to seal her power which forced Ilya to destroy her cultivation.
In the end, the reason didn't matter and only the fact that the Dark Ice Elven participated in the Primordial tournament bothered him.
Even worse was that Shane began to slowly realize that everything the Dark Ice Elven had done inside the radiant mountain ring dimension had a reason!
If not for the woman in front of him, why else would they have used a fortune of their resources to help the Miac alliance reign a part of the radiant mountain ring dimension for a short amount of time?
The more he questioned everything, the more sense it made.
At the same time, Shane noticed that the PrimWeb news had never released anything about a Dark Ice Elven residing inside the Basic dimensions.
This only meant that the higher-ups used all means possible to prevent anyone from finding out about the existence of the woman in front of him.
From the outside, she seemed calm, but Shane had noticed that she had killed every single one of her opponents.
She made it seem easy and didn't require a high mana consumption, but Shane, who had a blessing and an Innate skill, knew that the Dark Ice Elf was the strongest opponent he would have to face in the Primordial tournament.
He kept staring at her for quite some time, while his mind was trying to make sense of everything that had happened during the last few months.
The more he thought about it, the worse things he began to imagine, and Shane could barely halt in his tracks as he saw that the female Dark Ice Elf was staring back at him, causing him to flinch.
Her eyes were cold and released the desire to kill Shane, but her lips curled upwards in a seducing manner.
However, instead of feeling attracted to her, goosebumps spread all over his body and he quickly manifested the system messenger in an attempt to write to his family, distracting himself from the eeriness he felt.
'WHAT?!!?'
Just at that moment did Shane realize that he couldn't use the system messenger, let alone PrimWeb.
This almost made him exclaim as his mind began to rattle, trying to make sense of the situation.
His hand involuntairly began to tremble and even the [Hunter's mind] passive skill couldn't help him.
He had to cover his hand to prevent anyone else from seeing his nervousness as he got a sudden idea!
Entering the Hidden Paradise with his mind, he used voice transmission to talk to Talia and Miriam. Both of them had just entered his soul bound world through the Space Door, and he wasted no time in telling them everything he had just gotten to know!
They were even more shocked than Shane had been, and Malia turned around a moment after Shane finished his explanation.
Time was of the essence because both Shane and Miriam had the exact same assumption, and it was extremely bad!
In the end, there had to be a reason for an advanced race to support the Dark Ice elves in everything they were doing, which included the destruction of planets and annihilation of basic races!
Why were only basic races targeted, why not intermediate races, or to be precise other than the forest elves?
Was there something basic races were not allowed to figure out or relay to the elven races they were in a treaty with?
Did the forest elves find out something turned them into a prey which was to be annihilated by the advanced race that protected the Dark Ice elves?
From the information they had acquired until now, the reason for everything had to be the female Dark Ice elf with purple eyes and black horns growing out of her forehead.
But what made her so special?
Shane could tell that she was extraordinarily talented and blessed since birth.
Her physical strength was exceptional despite not having refined a perfect physique. The absence of which was visible due to the fact that she didn't have the signature faint glistening of a milky hue while circulating mana through her body.
The woman had also awakened several affinities other than the ice affinity that was a natural awakened affinity of the Dark Ice elves.
Those affinities were the thunder, and darkness affinity, which she was controlling as if she had been born with them!
If that had already been everything, Shane wouldn't have said anything, but what made her appear indomitable was that she seemed to have received a blessing or some sort of similar enhancement.
This increased the amount of mana she could store and circulate through her body.
Even Shane couldn't help but think that she was way too strong because his mana circulation and speed were at a lower league than hers under normal circumstances.
Only with the [Warrior's Heart] passive skill could he reach roughly the same mana circulation.
This had caused Shane to question whether she was truly, only a Dark Ice Elf.
At that moment, just before he was called up to his next fight, the earlier thought was flashing through his mind.
'ONLY a Dark Ice Elf??...What if she is not only a Dark Ice Elf??'
