Chapter 120 - Is That Me?
As Shane entered the colosseum, he already had a fair idea of what was in store for him.
Using the elevator to reach the underground floor, where the DImension-spheres were situated, he approached them nervously, while his passive [Hunter's mind] helped him to remain level-headed.
Looking around, he noticed someone standing close to the elevator, eyeing him suspiciously. Most likely, it was one of the guardians protecting the Dimension-spheres from being stolen or getting destroyed by hostile organizations which receive support from foreign races.
The middle-aged man asked him if he made an appointment to use the Dimension-sphere, and he shook his head immediately.
'I'm so stupid! How can I forget something like that?!' He criticized himself, as the guardian looked at the schedule on the holographic screen in front of him before he nonchalantly said.
"You're lucky. One Dimension-sphere is free for the next five hours because someone else changed his appointment!"
Hearing this, Shane smiled brightly, as his soured mood immediately dissipated.
Thanking the guardian multiple times, he immediately registered his name and left the middle-aged man behind, who looked at him weirdly.
"It's been some time since someone thanked me that often..." He thought, looking after Shane who happily rushed toward a grey chamber with several thousand complex runes engraved in it, known as the Dimension-sphere which he was allowed to use.
'If this youngster wouldn't be that happy and polite, I could have sworn that he might have been our president's relativeā¦'
The guardian was shocked to see the youth's appearance because his aura and looks were similar to their president, who he idolized.
However, even though he idolized their president, it was publicly known, that his temper was nothing to scoff at and that he was not really someone who was polite to anyone, except other races.
As such, the middle-aged man disregarded this foolish thought, when Shane finally entered the Dimension-sphere, before averting his attention.
Shane inspected the chamber from the outside initially before he entered it, without wasting too much of his precious time that had already started to count down.
As there were five spare hours, he decided to utilize them, and he entered the chamber excitedly.
A quick look through the chamber told him that there was nothing special to see, except a white, empty room, as a hologram with all available techniques appeared in front of him.
Fortunately, he had already decided which technique to choose, as he immediately picked the [Slaughterer's path] a [Tier-1 (Gold)] martial art technique, which solely focused on attacking with hazardous, lethal strikes and slashes.
Once the technique was picked, he could choose between reading through the introduction and the step-by-step procedure or the visualized training, similar to a practical class
Shane chose the latter option, because not only would each step be explained but at the same time he could see the visual demonstration that would help him understand everything better when compared to reading and figuring out everything on his own.
After his choice had been processed by the system, the whole room seemed to expand as the surroundings changed completely. Now, he stood on a battlefield with tens of thousand corpses littered on the ground as discarded rags, consisting of all kinds of races and beasts.
Shane was taken aback to find himself suddenly transported in the middle of a huge, bloody battlefield.
His whole body was splattered with a thick layer of warm blood that ran down his face and clothes in rivulets as someone standing next to him got split into two neat halves.
Only now did he realize that he held a curved longsword with an overall length of more than 1 meter, while the blade alone seemed to be roughly 80 centimeters long.
The blade itself didn't look special, but the sheer bloodlust radiating from it rattled him... He was still dazed from the shock of seeing someone being torn apart in front of his eyes and for a minute he only stood there, confused, trying to process the scene he had just witnessed.
'This is not what the Information on PrimWeb said!!'
'Can't they at least tell the truth one SINGLE time?!' Shane shouted inwardly, as he noticed a black-scaled warrior whose eyes were bloodshot slashing at him with his broadsword.
Seeing this, he immediately disregarded everything, as his passive [Hunter's mind] and title skill [Berserk(F)] emerged.
Not knowing how strong the mysterious attacker was, Shane couldn't afford to slack off, as he slashed out with his curved longsword, only to halt mid-air, in order to adjust his stance and the way he held the longsword in order to deflect his opponent's attack.
*BOOM* The sheer impact caused by the broadsword crashing onto his longsword, with which he deflected the attack. Adrenaline rushed through his body causing Shane's whole body to bulge as his veins protruded, only to barely adjust the broadswords angle, as he took a light step to the right.
Stopping to resist the horrifying impact, Shane twisted his body in order to retract the curved longsword, only to spin around, in order to use his opponent's impact for his own benefits, as he slashed out.
Due to his increased momentum, his accuracy was slightly off, and Shane's longsword didn't pierce in-between two scales as he initially planned and but only pierced through one of the scales.
The black-scaled humanoid being didn't even budge, as the curved sword pierced into its flesh and Shane immediately realized that not only the scales were hard to penetrate and a good means of defense, but also the flesh underneath was tough, preventing him from cutting deep into the flesh.
Unsure of what to do next, Shane looked at the curved longsword embedded into his opponent, debating whether to drive it deeper or yank it out of the beast's mid-rib forcefully.
Suddenly, he noticed a thick killing intent that was intertwined with bloodlust next to him, as he saw an exact copy of his own curved longsword severe the unknown being in front of him in two parts, without any resistance.
Looking at the person that saved his life, Shane could only widen his eyes, because the person that saved him...was he himself??
Seeing himself with a thick killing intent that was intertwined with bloodlust, Shane couldn't help but gulp down his saliva, as he subconsciously pulled the curved longsword out of the severed corpse.
He noticed a few things, and thanks to his [Hunter's mind] passive skill, he could remain relatively calm, even though the whole situation he saw himself in was baffling.
Comparing himself to his replica, his curved longsword didn't have innate bloodlust, while the killing intent released by his replica was intertwined with bloodlust.
Enveloping the curved longsword with killing intent and bloodlust seemed to increase its velocity and sharpness because he or rather his replica slaughtered their way through the massive number of black-scaled humanoid beings that appeared out of nowhere.
'Is that the slaughterer's path?' Shane began to wonder in shock, as his jaw slightly dropped, asking himself if he could survive the next five hours.
However, one thing was certainā¦.He wanted to survive and Shane could feel a previously unknown excitement ignite deep within him.
'I want to become stronger!!'
With this thought, he immediately released his whole killing intent which he had already accumulated and created over the last several years, as he tried to envelop his curved longsword that screamed loudly, thirsting for blood.
Shane was unable to intertwine the bloodlust radiating from the curved longsword with his killing intent, but he was still able to feel a sharp increase in the weapons' sharpness and swinging it around in order to adjust himself to a different weapon, he could feel its high velocity, as a smile emerged on his face.
'It's time to slaughter a few hideous creatures!!'
