Chapter 118 - They Have To Come Too?
Shane felt that his teacher was quite knowledgeable as he heard Mr.Larka's explanations.
He picked out the most crucial points while analyzing several students who were particularly good or bad at something. This helped almost every student comprehend something, whether it was helpful or not.
While listening to his teacher, even Shane could tell his peers problems, with the biggest being their low combat prowess and experience which he could make out from their bad martial art proficiency and an even worse combat ranking.
Other than that, everyone's knowledge about the most basic things seemed to be quite high with an average of around 80%, while only 2,000 students achieved 100%.
Considering that the Shirai academy only accepted the best of the best, this was a small number, but Shane had already expected something like this, and it was not surprising to him.
However, what amazed him slightly, was how low most students' [Wealth] ranking was, as they barely accumulated between 100 to 300 gold coins throughout the whole month.
This meant that their average earning was less than 10 gold coins per day. Comparing their Stage with the wealth they accumulated, Shane was sure that two hunting sprees in a month at their current stage would be more than enough to help them earn the same fortune.
Maybe that was exactly what they were doing, but that was not something he bothered to think about.
Shaking his head, he could only think that many students were rich spoiled brats who were backed by their parents to reach a high stage which allowed them to enter the Shirai academy.
The only thing preventing sloths and overly inexperienced youths from entering the Shirai academy was the fact that one had to accumulate a certain amount of gold to even apply to any academy.
As such, the laziest students who had been accepted into the Shirai academy were slightly hard-working and had undertaken one or two hunting trips during the whole month which was better than doing nothing.
However, after the first rewards were given out, students soon realized that they would have to work harder in order to receive benefits from the academy when they saw that the lower ranks didn't even receive a single bronze coin.
Rather than that, they were beaten up and humiliated during the combat rankings, which hurt their pride.
On the other side, this was also seen as a means to lecture the laziest students in order to tell them that they should either give their best or stop using up the academy's resources, which millions of youths desired to obtain.
A whole hour passed with Mr.Larka analyzing and explaining everything when Shane noticed his teacher looking at him, and he could sigh deeply, as he heard.
"The best example and role model I can show everyone is Shane Suro! His combat prowess and experience is not only extremely high but so is his knowledge. If that were everything, I wouldn't praise him like this, but other than his combat prowess and knowledge, he is also hard-working, which everyone can easily understand by simply looking at his [Wealth] ranking.
I know that some of you are jealous of the rewards he obtained and I can fully understand this, but Shane received them because of his determination and hard work.
When I was younger, I had a peaceful and carefree childhood, until the day I turned 16, when I entered the Primordial DImensions for the first time.
It was horrifying and I was scared, and I'm sure that the majority of students thought the same when they awoke their system.
In the end, it seems like Shane Suro was relaxed and did not spend his time worrying but worked hard to build a great foundation, as indicated by his martial art proficiency!
Being jealous is nothing to be ashamed of if you use this jealousy to fuel your motivation instead of doing something else with ill intentions, because this won't help anyone, and will instead backfire!
Humanity has to work together and we should motivate each other instead of pushing others down, alright?!"
Initially, Shane had been uncomfortable to hear Mr.Larka speak, but his speech was better than he expected. Thus, when the other students started to clap and cheer, Shane joined them, as he smiled lightly.
His peers who initially loathed him beyond measure began to size him up once again.
The mature aura surrounding Shane spoke volumes about his prowess and the other students noticed that it was high achievement for someone who had barely entered the Primordial Dimension one or two months ago.
This was the period they estimated Shane to have entered the Primordial Dimensions according to his stage and rank. Now, they saw Shane in a new light as they couldn't help but change their opinion about him to a certain extent.
In the end, they had to acknowledge the facts their teacher stated and accept that there was no other way for Shane to be so strong, without giving his best. His determination to earn more than 7000 gold coins while he was still at the Mortal stage, was beyond their wildest imaginations..
Once their teacher calmed down everyone, the class came to an end.
Shane decided to follow him in order to escape everyone's clutches because he was eyed differently than before, making him feel even more uncomfortable than the previous hostile gazes.
Rushing out of the whole large building complex, he searched for a large tree to lean on, as he sat down to take a deep breath before he opened the system in order to look at the messages he received from Aisha.
<Hello Shane, I doubt you aren't aware of the dangers within the radiant mountain ring dimension, and doing an expedition there would be extremely dangerous with a large inexperienced group.
But to be honest, you're not wrong with what you wrote and even the areas around the RadiantRing are extremely valuable.
I'll talk to principal Mel and see what she thinks about it.
However, you should be aware that I'll bring the Valkyries with me if we were to enter the radiant mountain ring dimension in order to secure everyone's safety!
With this, the profits everyone could claim by excavating the cave you talked about would diminish, just so you know!
In the end, doing an expedition straight into a dangerous area might cause casualties and not many students will most likely apply, even if the benefits might be high!
I don't really understand why you are so impatient, but I like that you're not scared by the bloodlust thunder wolf, even if it might be more of a foolhardy than bravery.
I'll write to you once I learn more from principal Mel>
Reading the message, Shane oscillated between being happy and displeased, because he didn't like the fact that a whole unit comprising of 100 Valkyries would join them which would not only slightly decrease the funds he could mine in the elemental crystal cave if they were to enter it, but his profit would dwindle by an extremely large margin.
Sighing deeply, he could only accept this, because his life was worth more than excessively high benefits as he started to read the next message
<I requested to change my expedition goal to the radiant mountain ring shelter and principal Mel told me to update you "If you die or do something idiotic, we'll beat you up"...
Well, I don't want to be involved in your personal business, but you should definitely take care of yourself if you apply for the expedition.
Another thing principal Mel told me was that I should only take a small group of students with me for the first expedition, because it will most likely be extremely dangerous, considering that most students are not highly proficient in fighting against large groups of beasts.
Because you convinced me to enter the radiant mountain ring shelter, I already added you to our group and the other students will have a week to decide whether or not they want to apply for the expedition.
In order to be fair, I'll think of a way to reward you, if the hidden elemental crystal cave you wrote in the message is as large and secure as you said!>
The second message Shane read was much more pleasing than he thought because hearing that Aisha wanted to be 'fair' was surprising to hear.
'Maybe I should ask her if she'll give me a fixed percentage of the elemental crystals mined by all the Valkyries?..... But if I do that, I'll look too greedy, because Aisha and the Valkyries will protect me and the others who'll be joining the expedition team, with their life!
Furthermore, being greedy won't do me any good! I will harm my relationship with Aisha and the Valkyries who are all regarded as prodigies and elites of the human race!'
With that thought in mind, Shane decided to be simple, while disregarding his whole greed, as he messaged.
<It's nice that principal Mel allowed us to venture into the radiant mountain ring dimension and I can assure you that the elemental crystal cave I talked about is well hidden and shouldn't be too much of a hassle to conquer with the combined combat prowess of you and the Valkyries!
That is if nothing major changed!
Furthermore, you don't have to think too much about rewarding me! In the end, I'm quite simple and need what almost everyone needs-Cultivation resources, funds, and more time in the Dimension-spheres, but I won't demand any rewards.
As long as we survive the expedition, I'm satisfied!>
