Chapter 935: Soul Puppets
Chapter 935: Soul Puppets
Lady Wu approached Kent with a beaming smile.
At first glance, Kent knew she had earned more than he. One can’t be that happy without an overwhelming reason.
Money-wise, Kent would walk away with 9 billion. However, as someone in charge of the auction house that sold the Forsaken Soul Spirit, she was destined to earn more in the coming days.
“Distinguished guest, I have compiled everything and put it in this space ring.
It contains your bank card. All you need to do now is infuse it with your soul energy, and it will forever be yours.
It will imprint your soul signature on it so that, aside from you, nobody will be able to access the vault space inside to withdraw your funds.
I have also registered you as a seller. That means from today onwards, you can place an item to be auctioned at any Brown Maple Auction House.
With these new statutes, all items placed for auction will only incur a 5% commission from us. Additionally, as a VIP seller, you are eligible for a 20% discount on all items purchased from us.
You can also utilise our information-gathering services and appraisal services at no cost.
The most important thing is that you now own 2% of this establishment’s shares. All future earnings will be deposited in your account, which you can access from anywhere.
Also, as you continue to sell items with us, your shares can increase.”
Kent slid the ring onto his finger and took out his bank card. He looked inside, and just like how a space ring behaves, there was a space packed with Spirit Stones.
However, unlike space rings, Kent saw a complex formation that, with a single glance, he knew wasn’t something he could wrap his mind around. When he returns to the future, he will use the tower or Gaia to determine the nature of this formation.
He placed the card back inside his space ring and looked at Lady Wu.
“You’ve done a good job. However, I have some questions I want answers to if you don’t mind.” Lady Wu nodded promptly.
“I will be happy to answer any question you have.”
Kent didn’t want to comment on her enthusiasm, so he merely asked the question on his mind. “I can’t help but wonder, why did they fight over the Soul Spirit like that?
It was a mere Tier 18 Soul Spirit. I am sure they can easily kill a beast or their fellow humans and seize their Soul Spirits.
Why go all out for a mere Tier 18 Soul Spirit like that?”
Lady Wu seemed taken aback by Kent’s question. She didn’t expect someone who had sold a Tier 18 Soul Spirit to be this clueless.
Naturally, Kent knew Soul Spirits were valuable commodities. However, he didn’t know to what extent they were. He had already come into contact with weapons refining, and for some strange reason, he found a liking for it.
Seeing the chaos during the auction brought back his curiosity.
“I don’t know if you are aware of this, but Soul Spirits aren’t something that can easily be obtained.”
“How so?” Kent asked.
“Soul Spirits belong in the underworld.”
“Enlighten me.”
Lady Wu nodded and began to speak, “I don’t know how deep your knowledge goes, but souls are divided into three parts.
We have the Soul Essence, which almost every soul cultivator can absorb after every kill. It is also what is contained in most soul treasures.
The second is the Reincarnation Soul. This soul enters the cycle of reincarnation, and based on one’s good or bad Karma, they are reincarnated into the next life.
This soul is not even visible to cultivators, regardless of how perceptive they are. Whenever a Spirit beast or human dies, their reincarnation soul enters the cycle of reincarnation.
The last one is the Soul Spirit, which belongs in the underworld. Some say that if the owner of the Soul Spirit possesses good Karma, one day their soul spirits will aid their reincarnated selves in walking the heavenly path
However, unlike the Reincarnation Soul, this one can be seen and can be seized.
However, there is a catch. For one to be able to seize a Soul Spirit, you must be willing to battle the invisible force that binds the Soul Spirits to the channels of the Underworld.
That is something that cannot be achieved easily.
Of course, catching the Soul Spirit of a beast that doesn’t have innate intelligence is considered easy, but when it comes to intelligent beings, aside from a few people, you are the only person I know walking around with two Tier 18 Soul Bodies.
And what is even more shocking is that the one we sold is from a Forsaken Race.
Now, as to why they fought over it—it was because whoever manages to buy it is destined to have a powerful Soul Puppet on their hands once refined.”
“Soul Puppets?” Kent raised his brow, hearing a familiar name. Subconsciously, he felt a strong attachment to that name, but his mind was blank of any recollection of where it came from.
In a way, he felt a sense of deja vu.
“Yes, Soul Puppets. They are refined from Soul Spirits. Once refined, not only would they become powerful, but they would also be invulnerable to physical attacks. The only thing that can kill them is soul attacks.”
Lady Wu laughed. “And let me tell you, killing a Soul Puppet is next-level impossible.”
Kent nodded calmly, unsure of how to handle his next move. If he went ahead and sold one more Soul Spirit, then soon there would be powerful beings walking around this part of the universe.
However, his hesitation was settled when Lady Wu spoke.
“Of course, when it comes to refining soul puppets, the success rate is not great. However, with some luck, even if they don’t get a Tier 18 Soul Puppet out of it, they can surely get a Tier 17, which is enough.
After all, it is a Forsaken Soul Spirit; they can grow without any restrictions or limitations.”
“Sounds like a good field of cultivation.” Kent stood up, took out the Soul Flag, and waved it. A Tier 18 Soul Spirit from the Forsaken Race appeared, causing the look in Lady Wu’s eyes to shine.
“I will be going around to experience nature, so I might not be around for the Annual Auction. As promised, auction this and take 40% for yourself, and deposit the rest into my account.
Once I return, we will discuss possible business deals for the future. All I ask for is sincerity and honesty. Also, keep my name hidden, and if someone pressures you, tell them my name is Jest, a wanderer.”
Lady Wu nodded and stored away the precious Soul Spirit. She took out a communication crystal and handed it over to Kent.
“I will reach out when I come around.”
With a wave, Kent left the auction house. A couple of seconds later, he appeared outside and walked toward the guards.
They stood calmly with glints in their eyes as Kent approached.
“I presume you have bank cards,” Kent asked, and then nodded. Taking out his card, he swiped it against theirs, and in no time, 100 million Spirit Stones were deposited into their accounts.
“Nice doing business with you two. Until next time.” Kent vanished into thin air, but the two guards didn’t even seem to realise. The shock they were in was so much that they didn’t even know when Kent left.
