Chapter 389 - 389: Placing A Hit On His Head
Among all the things Kent expected, Gaia in a suit wasn’t one of them. Yet here he was, staring at the small human who was looking surprisingly cute inside her little suit.
“Gaia, what are you doing?” Kent couldn’t help but ask, smiling.
“You said the city is my responsibility, so as the mayor of the city, it’s my job to welcome its residents,” she said, making Kent roll his eyes.
He finally understood why his ladies rolled their eyes when he did something shameless. Right now, Gaia was the one being shameless, so he just rolled his eyes.
“She looks cute… where did she get such a design from?” Selene asked, touching the collar of her suit.
“It’s a design from my world,” Kent said, making Zaila and Nara look at him strangely.
“He is not from this world, big sister. Kent is from another world far from this one,” Mara said, and her sister, alongside the disciple of the Spear Gate Master, could only look at Kent for confirmation.
“She is telling the truth. I am from a place called Earth, and back there, this is how corporate ladies dressed. It’s a rather nice fashion decision if you ask me,” Kent smiled.
“Gaia, since you are the mayor, ensure these beauties have the best time here,” Kent said. Gaia nodded and clapped. Immediately, two more lolis in suits appeared, making Kent smile.
Akira and Dori looked at their master with a pleading gaze.
“Gaia, stop bullying your sisters,” Kent said, knowing they weren’t there of their own accord, despite him knowing these were just a strand of their consciousness.
“They owe me, so I am cashing in that debt to ensure your ladies have the best time here,” Gaia said, maintaining a business expression before turning to the ladies.
“How long will you be spending here?” she asked. In return, Selene looked at Kent and asked, “How long until the pill master competition?”
“Less than seven days from today, so you have 144 days to spend here if you want to come and watch,” Kent answered, and the ladies nodded.
They all planned on going to see him dominate the alchemy world, too. He had already shaken the hearts of many, and now, he planned on shaking them more.
“However, Nara should come back in the next 120 days to meet someone,” Kent added. They nodded, and Gaia took them into the city, where they started their vacation.
Kent wanted to join them, but he also had things to do now that he had received an SSS-ranked quest he couldn’t just ignore.
Of course, the moment he was done with what he had planned, he would pay them a visit and spend some quality time with them.
However, right after the pill master competition, he will be going back to the God Realm to satisfy a goddess who is currently immersed in research about all her sisters.
Now that they have awakened their True Names, they have all changed and, as such, have become new people. She was looking to understand more about them and how best to help them even further.
Vexthra is determined to ensure her man is surrounded by powerful ladies all around
The moment Kent left the tower city, he appeared inside the Sword Tower, where he sat down on the Enlightenment Stone and began to meditate.
Meanwhile, somewhere far from the Divine Palace Sect, three figures, each at the peak of the Root Ascension stage, were seated in a private room inside one of the most secure inns in the Kingdom of Varyndor.
They are clad in dark clothes, and each has a hood over their head. There was one seat reserved, indicating they were waiting for a fourth person.
Indeed, a few minutes into their wait, a figure appeared out of thin air and sat down. The newcomer was a beautiful lady with graceful features.
However, the air around her was that of a Level 7 Root Sovereign who had fought countless battles and killed thousands.
She was formidable, and the moment she entered the room, the three figures became alert.
“So, that bastard sent you three to the meeting instead of coming himself,” she muttered, then sighed.
“Very well. I asked for this meeting simply because I want someone dead, and it must be done in the most efficient way possible.”
“My lady, who do you want dead?” one of the three asked. Though he spoke, he wasn’t entirely confident, as the lady before him was not someone to underestimate.
“He goes by the name Kent. He is an inner disciple in the Divine Palace Sect,” the lady revealed, making the three turn and look at each other.
“Is there a problem?” the lady asked.
“No, my lady. It’s just that asking us to handle a Root Sage—or perhaps now a Great Sage—seems rather unexpected. At any time, you could kill him with a flick of your finger, so why ask for us?”
“My employer wants him dead, but not by any of our hands. It must be done by an external party. This is where you three come in. So, do you have any more questions, or is he someone you can kill?”
“We will get it done, my lady. But do you have a timeframe for the mission?”
“It must be done before the sect competitions in three months,” the lady said, and the three men nodded.
“Then tell your leader that if he fails this mission, he should forget about our alliance.” After saying that, she vanished, leaving the three hooded figures behind.
“What now? Killing that brat will be simple enough, so why ask us to do it?” one of them wondered. After a moment of pondering, they all sighed and vanished from the room as well.
After the lady left, she appeared inside a new room many minutes later, where another figure could be seen seated in a chamber filled with cultivation treasures.
He was cultivating intently.
“Is it done?” The voice belonged to a man.
“Yes, my lord. Kent Madson will be dead within the next three months,” the lady bowed and soon vanished.
“The Hand shall prevail,” the man said before returning to his cultivation.
