Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1588 Request and Offer

Kent hates many things, but at the top of his list, those he hate the most are traitors who betray and backstab those who trust them completely.

Maybe this had something to do with his incarnation as the Ruthless Bandit. When he found out his uncle was behind the attack that claimed the lives of his parents and entire family, that betrayal ate away at his humanity, making him bitter.

So now that he learned Lady Kenzie died because of a lover, he was overwhelmed with so much anger that the space around him started to change color.

However, that soon vanished when, with a casual wave of her hand, the dark aura that had started to appear around Kent was vanquished.

“Sorry about that. I usually have a good grip on my emotions.”

“No need to explain yourself, Kent Madson. I have lived for billions of years, yet I never managed to balance my emotions despite cultivating such a peaceful Dao.”

Kent nodded, though deep in his heart, he was still angry.

Perhaps all of this was due to his recent emotional instability, stemming from memories of the Ruthless Bandit. Even so, he was well within his rights to be pissed at the one who dared kill such a beautiful lady.

Naturally, Kent soon realized he was overreacting, so he calmed down.

Seeing this, Lady Kenzie smiled and continued to speak.

“Enough about me. Why don’t we focus on you instead?” The moment she said that, the air around them changed…

“I know you are here to comprehend my Dao, of which I have revealed to you what they are. Now, it is up to you to decide which one to comprehend in the 5,400 years you have left.”

Kent furrowed his brow. “I suppose an hour on the outside is a thousand years here.”

She nodded.

The Tower had already informed him that he had six hours to comprehend the Life Dao and gain something. However, he had been walking for 600 years, something even he was shocked by now that he understood what had happened.

So learning that there is such a time gap, he could only nod and smile.

“Of course, as you can already see, this tree is no ordinary tree. In fact, trees can be considered my skill trees. Every leaf or fruit is a skill I once created from comprehending the Life Dao. Of course, hanging on its branches are several fruits, of which only five are ripe for picking.

I have lost access to 90% of my skills after I lost my body, seed, soul, and heart. However, in total, I have 24 skills and three Daos intact that I can bestow on you for free. I only request one thing from you.”

Kent paid close attention to her.

“In my long life, I never truly loved anyone until I met him. He showed me a part of life I had never experienced before. Due to that, I have nothing but thanks for him. However, for betraying my trust, I ask that one day, when you become a Celestial, you get revenge for me.”

Kent said nothing and just sat there. In his mind, this request was within limits. She offered something extremely valuable, and in return, he would render his services.

One thing Kent didn’t understand was why she was taking such a risk when the uncertainty in the vast universe out there was immense.

What if he never made it to the Celestial stage? What if he failed to become a Celestial? What if, after reaching the Celestial stage, he chose not to honor his promise?

“Why take the risk? I am merely a mortal. Compared to a Celestial, reaching the True Immortal stage is not even guaranteed. Why place so much trust in me?”

To his surprise, Lady Kenzie smiled and formed a cloud ball. Bringing it closer to Kent, she clenched it slowly, causing it to burst into a mist of smoke. The smoke spread loosely, forming webs that extended a few meters wide.

Eventually, they formed a spiderweb, with several spiders crawling across its fragile strands.

“In the tapestry of fate, there are countless fate lines, each linking either to another or to the core of the web. These lines are designed to go a certain way.

The spider attached to one line of fate is destined to walk that fate line forever. No matter how much the entire web sways, they always find their way back to the line meant for them.”

She snapped her fingers, and a few green spiders appeared. As they moved, they kept jumping from one line to another, moving over the original spiders traversing that line.

“There are those who don’t follow the rules. To them, they can pass anywhere and, in the end, arrive at their destination. No matter the hurdle before them, they will always find a way to get to their destination.

When I look at your fate, I see none of these people. You walk neither of these lines. In fact, you do not even have a single string attached to you. This can only mean you are not within the tapestry of fate.”

She paused and snapped her fingers, reforming the web into one where a large spider was weaving it. Instead of crawling across it, the spider was weaving it.

“You are the weaver of your own fate, and as such, I know with absolute certainty that someone like you would not fall short against those walking the path created for them.”

Kent sighed in his heart, his expression turning solemn.

He was already aware of the kind of fate he wielded, so it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that when it came to handling his own fate, nobody dared oppose him.

But trusting him this deeply felt a bit desperate.

“Rest assured, I wouldn’t be disappointed if you fail to get revenge for me. After all, after I hand over the root of my Dao, I will forever cease to exist.

So do not become pressured. Since you are here now, I might as well hand over what I have kept away from the universe. Hopefully, it will come in handy for you one day.”

Kent nodded and said:

“I will get revenge for you, my lady. One day, those who made you cry will pay for their sins.” His words were absolute.

“Good.” Lady Kenzie smiled and waved her hand, summoning three tomes. On the first tome, the word ‘Regenerate’ was boldly written. The second had ‘Rebirth,’ and the last had ‘Resurrection.’

“You have 5,400 years to comprehend all three. While I have no high expectations, given that we are talking about the Dao, you are only required to comprehend 0.5% of each Dao.

If you can accomplish that for all three Daos, you will have my complete knowledge and life memories when you leave here.” Lady Kenzie flashed Kent a beautiful smile and asked, “Do you think you can do that?”

Kent smiled weakly, a part of him wanting to tell Lady Kenzie he once went above the Grand Dao and comprehended the Origin Dao. However, he kept his mouth shut and thanked her instead.

“Thank you for granting me this opportunity, Senior. I will fully comprehend it, and when done, I will use the knowledge to rise above others and one day get revenge for you.”

After he said that, Kent focused his attention on all three tomes and took a deep breath. Then he began to comprehend all three at once.
