Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 1084: Creating Bonds (2)

Chapter 1084: Creating Bonds (2)

Eshira raised her weapon and looked at it. “It was a gift from my husband. He gave it to me after making me work nonstop for nine good years.” Eshira smiled, looking in Paragon’s direction.

Velyra also smiled. She could tell there was more to what Eshira said, but she didn’t pry into her business. Instead, she focused more on knowing more about this world.

After Eshira spent some time explaining the dynamics of this world to her, after a couple of minutes, she seemed to have a handle on how things work around here.

“So aside from humans, there are also water-borns, ice-borns, vampires, moon-borns, and finally the Bast race.”

“Yes. It is a small world, but it contains many amazing cultures. Just the human race alone has more than 100 different cultures.”

“What an interesting world.” Velyra, who had been locked up in the Dead Region for centuries, wanted to learn more about other worlds now that she is out.

In fact, the idea of traveling to explore and learn about other cultures was something she wanted to do once they ascended. She wanted to see the universe beyond and learn more about the amazing people who fill it.

Her sisters promised to take her around and explore many worlds once they ascended. But getting the chance to learn more about this world was also good enough.

Now, she just wanted to find a way to come back when there is no war to experience all the amazing things Eshira told her about Earth.

After more discussion, they decided to put a pin in it until they meet again. For now, they must protect this world.

Selene also made a friend, however, not in the way one would expect.

From the moment she arrived on the battlefield, she sensed a strong attachment toward a certain green-scaled Devouring Snake.

Without even wasting time, she ran off to the side of such a magnificent serpent.

Initially, she wanted to have a talk with her to teach her how to harness the power of Devouring. However, she realized she was under pressure, so she first used her own sword to help reduce it.

When the pressure finally calmed and the snake turned into her pretty, green-haired, gorgeous human form, she decided to have the talk.

“I have to say, this is my first time seeing such a gorgeous lady devouring her enemies. Tell me, how does it work?” Selene was genuinely interested.

After all, one of the many abilities she received after awakening her Primordial Space was the Devourer skill.

She had tried many times to use it, but she seemed to be missing something. So, finally seeing someone in action using the power of the Devourer, she knew she had to make good use of this encounter.

“By the way, I am Selene.”

“You can call me Lumia, and can we have this talk after we are done with everything… once we are done with this battlefield at least.”

“I see.” Selene was disappointed, but she knew Lumia’s words were indeed the truth. Also, since Lumia was fighting to save her world, she knew making sure her people were safe took priority.

Selene didn’t press further. Instead, she stood beside Lumia, silently watching as the serpent woman unleashed another wave of her devouring aura. The battlefield trembled, and the faint whispers of consumed souls echoed in the air.

Lumia’s power is strange. The beings she devours, she can use their resentful spirits in combat.

It is like the more she devours, the more resentful souls she absorbs, allowing her to later unleash a wave of power fueled by her Devourer powers.

Her power is in a way similar to Sylara’s blood devouring ability. However, in Lumia’s case, the more she devoured, the stronger she became.

There is no expiry date, unlike Sylara, who loses her power after 48 hours.

The two women fought back-to-back, their movements forming a pattern that soon synergized into a rhythm, the kind that suggests they are experienced warriors and can easily resonate with one another in battle.

Selene’s spatial blades carved through enemies with quiet precision, while Lumia’s devouring aura consumed everything that touched her shadow.

The weaker opponents were dying en masse, while the stronger ones slowly got pushed back or consumed.

Between each clash and scream, a strange calm lingered.

“You’ve seen this kind of battle before, haven’t you?” Lumia’s tone was low, almost lost beneath the chaos of battle.

Selene tilted her head slightly, slicing through a Neburian that lunged from behind. “Too many times. But this one feels… different.”

Lumia gave no answer, only smiled faintly.

Then she asked, “How is this any different from the ones you have seen and participated in?”

Selene sighed for a moment and then replied, “The ones I witnessed and participated in mostly showed us having the upper hand… my sisters and I.

However, in this one, I saw how cruel those with higher power can be. They abused their power, and that alone makes this a completely different battle.

In a way, it feels like fighting a losing battle, yet we are winning somehow. It just doesn’t make any sense.”

After a while, Selene spoke again, her voice soft but firm. “Do you ever wonder what happens after all this?”

Lumia paused, her devouring field flickering for a moment before returning. “Wondering leads nowhere. Survival first. Understanding later.”

Selene’s lips curved in a faint smile. “You sound like someone very angry.”

“Oh, I am very angry. I am so furious that if I don’t hold myself back, I might just go berserk.” Lumia shot a green beam from her eyes, piercing a hole in a Neburian warrior’s head.

“Now, we wouldn’t want me going berserk. I just got married, so I have no plans on going back into the jungle simply because I can’t hold back my anger.”

Selene chuckled, knowing the lady meant business, yet she found a way to keep herself grounded.

In a way, she wasn’t only making herself appear calm, but she kept reminding herself to remain grounded and that she should remind herself of what she is fighting for.

“We should indeed have this conversation when everything is said and done,” Selene said before cutting another warrior in half.

The more the battle raged on, the closer everything seemed to get.

Kaizo and the rest of the legion were doing their best. That is all they could do, after all; their opponents weren’t greenhouse flowers either.

So the closer they got to the finish line, the stronger they felt, knowing that soon the battle would come to an end.

“I have to say, until there is another world-ending event where the odds are stacked against us, I will miss this universe and this battle,” Kaizo said, his expression showing a sigh of regret.

If it were up to Kaizo, then this battle shouldn’t end anytime soon. He enjoyed the thrill of battle, so he would very much love to keep going for as long as it could last…

Not that he would ever be satisfied.

When Kent was creating him, the personalities he gave him were just too much. Now, he can’t live without battle.
