Celeste Grant laughed. “Haha, becoming a construction foreman actually has some prospects. He’s contracted all the road construction projects in the entire Demon Realm now. Back where I’m from, foremen are loaded; they’ve all got to wear a thick gold chain around their neck. The Demon Realm is our family business, so it’s good for our son to work on some development and improve the standard of living here. Besides, he’d just be idle otherwise.”

Javier Sinclair nodded slightly. “Mm, a foreman it is, then. As long as our son has something to do, he won’t be hanging around in front of us all the time. And I’ll get to spend more time with you.”

‘All he wanted was to be alone with his wife.’

Celeste Grant took another sip of her juice and looked up at the man beside her. “Hey, have you found a way to break my seal yet?”

Javier Sinclair glanced up at her and shook his head slightly. “Not yet.”

She nodded slightly and leaned back in the wicker chair. “Looks like this seal can’t be broken.” Celeste Grant was surprisingly calm about not being able to break the hereditary seal in her bloodline.

She smiled faintly and waved her hand dismissively. “Haha, if we really can’t find a way to break the seal, then so be it. You’ve spent the last six months studying so many ancient texts without finding a single clue. I was worried you’d work yourself bald. You need to calm down, Archfiend. See? I’m not even worried. Let’s just let nature take its course. Who knows, maybe a solution will present itself someday.”

Javier Sinclair glanced at her and said softly, “You have a good attitude about it.”

Celeste Grant smiled.

“Of course.” Her gaze fell on his face, and she turned sideways to face him. Reaching out, she stroked the long hair on his shoulder and said in a low voice, “No matter what, life goes on. So your mindset is very important.”

Javier Sinclair just glanced at her without saying a word.

‘In truth, it wasn’t that he hadn’t found a way. It was just that the methods for breaking the seal weren’t reliable enough. He didn’t want 99 percent certainty; he needed 100 percent. He would never use any Magic that had even the slightest chance of harming her.’

‘At this thought, his eyes narrowed slightly.’ “If it really comes to it, then I’ll have to resort to extreme measures.”

‘Extreme measures?’

“Huh?” Celeste Grant was stunned for a moment, tilting her head in confusion. “Wait, what are you talking about, Archfiend? What kind of extreme measures could you possibly take?”

Javier Sinclair nodded slightly. “Mm, I’ve had this idea for a while.”

Seeing his serious expression, Celeste Grant scratched her head. “What are you planning?” ‘What could possibly be so drastic that he’d call it an “extreme measure”? Surely my Archfiend doesn’t think the Demon Realm’s ancient texts are insufficient and he needs to go borrow a few from the Immortal Realm?’

Perhaps sensing her thoughts, Javier Sinclair placed a hand on her head. “Darling, what strange things are you thinking about now? The extreme measures I’m talking about aren’t what you’re imagining.”

“Oh?” Celeste Grant raised an eyebrow. “Then what are these ‘extreme measures’ you’re talking about?”

Javier Sinclair said, “I mean traveling across the river of time to the Ancient Times to consult someone proficient in the Sealing Technique. Or, I could go directly to your ancestral home and have your clansmen solve it.”

“Whoa, whoa… what did I just hear?”

Hearing this, Celeste Grant shot upright, turning to look up at him. “Travel across the river of time to the Ancient Times? Are you serious?”

“Mm.” Javier Sinclair nodded slightly and said softly, “Currently, it’s the most direct and reliable method.”

“Wait a minute, wait a minute! Just because you say it’s reliable doesn’t make it so. If it were really as you say, you would have gone long ago. You wouldn’t have waited until now to bring it up.”

As she spoke, Celeste Grant grabbed his wrist.

“You can’t just go whenever you feel like it. Javier Sinclair, you need to explain this clearly. Traveling through time, and to such a distant past… The dangers involved can’t be small, right? If it’s dangerous for you, I won’t let you go.”

Javier Sinclair began, “Listen to me…”

Celeste Grant held up both hands to stop him from speaking.

“I’m not listening…”

Her tone was forceful, the earlier smile gone from her face. Right now, Celeste Grant was staring at him intently, her expression clearly saying that if he dared to say he was going, she’d make him kneel on a washboard.

Javier Sinclair reached out and gently stroked her hair.

“Darling.”

She pointed at him, her face stern.

“Javier Sinclair, calling me ‘sweetheart’ won’t work. I’m not falling for it.”

“Old Fiend Sinclair, knowing you as I do, I’m certain that what you’re proposing is incredibly dangerous. So this is non-negotiable; I won’t agree to it. If this seal can be broken, fine. If not, it’s not a big deal. The seal in my bloodline has been with me for so long, and it doesn’t really affect anything. Since it’s not that important, I can’t let you put yourself in danger.”

When he didn’t speak, Celeste Grant frowned and said through gritted teeth, “Javier Sinclair, I’m talking to you. Did you hear me?”

He said, “Darling, I’m listening.”

Celeste Grant huffed and said in a low voice, “Good. As for this ‘most direct and reliable method’ of yours, don’t ever bring it up again.”

She stood up from her wicker chair, planted her hands on her hips, and paced back and forth in front of him. Then, she stopped and pointed at him again, warning, “And you’re not allowed to go behind my back, either.”

Javier Sinclair tilted his head up slightly, his gaze resting on the woman before him. ‘This was his wife. She looked fierce, but every word she spoke was out of concern for his safety. She truly, deeply cared for him.’

Reaching out and gently taking her wrist, Javier Sinclair pulled her into his arms. He wrapped one arm around her waist and gently took her fingers with his other hand. “Darling, you care so much about me. I’m so moved.”

Celeste Grant glared at him.

“I’m talking about something serious.”

He held her. “Holding you is a serious matter, too. You can say your piece, and I’ll hold you. They don’t conflict.”

Celeste Grant was speechless.

“You’re getting an eye-roll for that.”

“You’ve said so much already, Darling. Now it should be my turn to speak, shouldn’t it?”

The moment the words left his mouth, Celeste Grant cut in, “What do you want to say? If it’s about that ‘traveling across time to the Ancient Times’ business, you can just save your breath.”

Javier Sinclair held her fingers, bringing them to his lips for a kiss. “It’s not good to only listen to half the story. When did I ever say this would be dangerous?”

She looked at him quizzically.

“Was there more you didn’t say?”

Javier Sinclair said, “Traveling through time to the Ancient Times would certainly be a life-or-death risk for anyone else. The slightest misstep could get them trapped in the river of time forever. However, for me, traveling through time is nothing. There will be no danger.”

Celeste Grant raised an eyebrow, looking him in the eye as she asked, “Is there really no danger? Or are you just saying that to put my mind at ease and lying to me?”
