Chapter 654: Chapter 652: Abyssal Primalid

She put down her spoon.

She took out her phone and started scrolling through it.

The Demonic Domain now had the Spiritual Network, so her phone was working normally again. Not only that, but it had also been updated with all sorts of new features.

Things like one-on-one and group chats. It was all thanks to Elder Lawson and his team, which meant that even living in the Cultivation World, she wouldn’t get bored and could even watch videos in her free time.

She opened her chat history.

She found her son’s profile picture.

And sure enough, there was a video he had sent her.

Celeste Grant tapped it open. The next moment, the sound of gongs and drums erupted from the video. Then she saw them: a group of wintergourds, each with a ring of grass around its waist, dancing. They even had wreaths of flowers on their heads.

Their movements were synchronized, their waists swaying smoothly—they were actually pretty good.

’Family, friends, sisters, have you ever seen a wintergourd dance? I have. I’ve seen it with my own two eyes. My god... this is just too beautiful.’

Watching them, she couldn’t help but burst out laughing. "Hahaha, dancing wintergourds... Holy crap. Javier Sinclair, you have to see this." Celeste Grant quickly scooted over to Javier Sinclair and showed him the video on her phone. "Look... haha, I’m dying. These wintergourds can actually dance."

The video her son sent didn’t just have dancing wintergourds; there were also scenes of other wintergourds shaking their heads and starting a feast. The scenery in the background was quite beautiful, too.

Javier Sinclair glanced at it, the corner of his mouth twitching. "Well, that’s a new one. Those must be Bullfrog and Tadpole’s clansmen. Our son must have recorded this before he came to the Demonic Domain."

Celeste Grant nodded slightly and said, "Mm, this must be Cunmere Realm, the homeland of Bullfrog and Tadpole’s clan. The buildings in the video are so unique; they look masterfully crafted. I heard from Tadpole that their clan lives in an Undercity. Now that they’re migrating their entire clan to our Demonic Domain, we should go take a tour once the Undercity is built."

Javier Sinclair nodded slightly.

"Mm."

Hearing the sound of gongs and drums from the phone, little Elise Sinclair ambled over curiously. "Wow, wow! So many dancing wintergourds! This is fun, so much fun! GIGGLE... Daddy, look, that wintergourd is so funny! Its flower crown is crooked and about to fall off."

Seeing her daughter doubled over with laughter, Celeste Grant stroked her head and asked gently, "Does Ellie like it?"

Little Elise Sinclair nodded repeatedly. "I do! These wintergourds are so cute. Mommy, I love them, I really, really do!"

Celeste Grant smiled and said, "Then Mommy will take you to see them in the future. We’ll have those wintergourds dance just for you, how about that?" 𝐟𝑟ⅇ

The little girl nodded.

"Okay, okay!"

It was a heartwarming scene of the family of three.

「Meanwhile.」

In a pocket of space at the junction between the Immortal Realm and the Demon Realm, a spatial black hole leading to another world lay hidden—the Abyss. Beyond the black hole was a dim, desolate world that resembled a wasteland. Not a hint of life or a speck of green could be seen here, only an endless expanse of gloom and decay.

No humans existed here, only a single type of creature: the Primalids.

The Primalids were Abyssal Aberrations, remnants from Ancient Times. These Primalids ate anything and everything and were incredibly destructive. They could also unleash various innate attacks, much like the Demonic Beasts of the Cultivation World. They were, however, a different kind of strangely evolved life-form.

After consuming something, they would generate and expel all sorts of corrosive waste, destroying ecosystems and worlds. Once they had utterly ruined their current location, they would simply find a new place to live.

The Primalids had bizarre appearances and massive bodies; they were half-human, half-insectoid creatures. Their bodies were that of a worm, yet they possessed a torso vaguely resembling a human’s. They were utterly hideous and bore no real resemblance to people.

At this moment, in the world they inhabited, there was nothing left to eat. The world was beginning to collapse, on the verge of annihilation. Some time ago, however, the Primalids had found a new way out.

It was a powerful being from the other side of the spatial black hole.

That person had appeared in this place and made a deal with their King. As long as they obeyed this person, they could travel to the other side of the spatial black hole. Delicious soil and delectable food were beckoning to them.

’Heh heh heh... a foolish creature, to actually think we would obey. Everything on the other side is nothing but food for us Primalids. Once we get there, we’ll devour it all. Devour everything.’

The Primalids would show those outsiders the true meaning of "leading the worms into your home," where not even a blade of grass would be left standing.

As the great earth trembled, a voice slowly echoed out. It was the language of the Primalids, incomprehensible to ordinary people. Red soundwaves rippled through the countless Primalids, and what they conveyed could be translated as:

"My children, I know you are hungry. Ohohoho! Our time is coming! Just wait a little longer. Soon, you will be hungry no more. I have already seen it! On the other side of the spatial black hole at the edge of this world lies another world, one brimming with life! The Spiritual Energy there is dense, with endless immortal herbs and Spirit Fruits to eat, endless leaves and living beings to consume. Once we cross over, we will finally have a proper feast."

Hearing their King’s voice, the entire Primalid race erupted into a frenzy, cheering. They all began to screech and chitter.

"Food."

"Food."

"Devour."

"Devour."

"Devour it all."

Countless Primalids burst forth from beneath the wasteland’s soil, shoving and jostling against one another, packed together in a dense mass.

The Primalids came in many varieties—some that flew in the sky, some that ran on the ground, and even some that lived in water. Hearing that there was food, the eyes of these Primalids now glowed with red light. They writhed together in a dense, teeming swarm, a sight that would trigger trypophobia in any observer.

For the delicious leaves.

For the delicious soil.

The King of the Primalids led its people through the spatial black hole, stepping into an unknown new world. Their great journey was to devour the stars and the seas, to consume the other side until nothing was left.

「Half a month later.」

A colossal entrance to the Abyss appeared at the junction between the Demon Realm and the Immortal Realm. At the same time, countless bizarrely shaped insects poured in from it, swarming like a plague across the sky and land.

Meanwhile, a figure hidden behind the scenes watched this unfold, their eyes filled with greed and excitement.

He threw his head back and laughed. "Hahaha! Come! Come, all of you! This is the Ancient Abyssal Brood recorded in the ancient texts. I have already taken control of the Primalid King. From now on, this will be my ultimate weapon. The armies of the Immortal Realm and the Demon Realm will be devoured by my Ancient Worm Legion until not even a scrap remains!"

Watching the Primalids pour in, the man hidden behind the scenes laughed with wild abandon, as if he could already see the world crushed beneath his heel.

"Hahaha..."

"Go, my little bugs! Let the Twin Realms witness your power!"

"My little bugs, do not disappoint me. Show those ants what you are made of!"
