Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss
Chapter 529 - 527: This is Your Aunt Nerida
Chapter 529: Chapter 527: This is Your Aunt Nerida
Seeing that Celeste Grant had already thought of everything for them, Nerida’s heart warmed. She reached out and took Aeron’s hand. When she looked at Celeste, she couldn’t help but smile. "My Lady, it’s so good to have you."
Celeste Grant pretended to rub her arms with a look of mock exasperation. "Hey, now, don’t get all sappy on me. Don’t worry, just leave the wedding arrangements to me."
Aeron smiled sheepishly. "Then we’ll have to trouble you to handle it for us, My Lady."
Nerida smiled faintly.
’Having a loved one handle everything for you on such an important day... it’s a truly blissful feeling.’
Celeste Grant took Nerida’s hand. "Let’s not just stand here. Let’s find a place to sit and talk. You’d better tell me the whole story of what’s happened in the last six months or so. Like how you and Aeron met, and how you got to know each other... hehe, all I’m missing is the popcorn."
The weather was nice.
The courtyard was very pleasant. Sitting there, chatting over tea and watching the scenery, created a wonderful ambiance.
The group sat together in the gazebo. Soon, attendants brought tea, pastries, and a variety of Spirit Fruits.
Once they were settled, Celeste Grant propped her chin on her hand and looked at Nerida and her companion, her expression clearly saying, ’Hurry up and tell me.’ ’Good thing it’s just My Lady and The Exalted One here,’ Nerida thought. ’If anyone else were around, I’d be too embarrassed to say anything.’
Nerida cleared her throat and began. "There’s not much to it, really. After I ascended to the Upper Realm, I appeared in Silvanis. I had just consumed a Spiritual Medicine to boost my cultivation, but that medicine also had the side effect of... inducing a need for dual cultivation. By a strange twist of fate, I ran into Aeron, and that’s how we ended up together. At first, I didn’t know Silvanis was Amarantha, and I did a few things that made Aeron angry, but thankfully, we talked things through later..."
She briefly recounted the story of how she and Aeron had met.
After listening, Celeste Grant said, "That’s fate. There’s a saying that’s very true: ’Fate can bring people together from a thousand miles away, but without it, you won’t meet even if you’re standing face to face.’ Aeron lived in such an isolated place, yet you still met him and ended up together. That proves your connection was destined by the heavens."
Nerida nodded slightly. ’Maybe that’s really how it is. Otherwise, why would I have run into him of all people right after I ascended?’
Speaking of which, Celeste Grant chuckled mischievously. "Nerida, you used to say you’d never have a Taoist Companion, and now look at you. It just goes to show you should never say never. No one knows what the next moment will bring, so everyone’s future holds infinite possibilities."
Thinking about it, Nerida felt a little embarrassed. Celeste had indeed been right.
Before she could reply, Celeste Grant scooted closer to Nerida and poured her a cup of tea. "Speaking of which, that reminds me of something, Nerida. We agreed back then... hehe... that if you had a daughter, our families would be joined by marriage. Your daughter would be my son’s fiancée."
Hearing her mention it, Nerida recalled the conversation and didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She couldn’t help but ask, "My Lady, you still remember that?"
"Of course I remember." Celeste Grant patted her chest, speaking as if it were obvious. "This is a major issue! It’s about whether my son will end up like his own father, unable to find a wife for centuries. So of course I have to take it seriously. You have to lock down a good prospect early, or where else is he going to find a wife?"
Thinking of Annie, Nerida’s expression softened. It was the look of a doting mother gazing at her child. "My Lady, you’re just joking. It’s not that the Young Master can’t find a wife; his heart is just completely set on cultivation. With his looks and talent, there are plenty of girls who would want to become his Taoist Companion. Our Annie is handsome and dashing, elegant and poised—how could he possibly lack for a wife?" She felt that Annie deserved the best girl in the world. So, if she really did have a daughter, she would of course be willing to have Annie as a son-in-law.
’If it were anyone else, she might not be so sure. But she had watched Annie grow up; she knew him inside and out.’
Celeste Grant smiled faintly.
’Of course, her own son was perfect in every way,’ she thought. ’But being handsome didn’t guarantee he wouldn’t end up single.’
"I don’t care, I don’t care. In any case, our families are going to be joined by marriage." As she spoke, she reached out and hugged Nerida.
Nerida said, "Just you wait. If I really do have a daughter someday, you’ll be my first choice for in-laws."
Celeste Grant hugged her tightly.
"Haha, I knew you were the best, Nerida! Come on, a toast." She raised her teacup, clinked it against the one in Nerida’s hand, and then drank it down.
Just as they were talking, a large goose was seen flying slowly toward them from the sky. Sensing the movement, Javier Sinclair and the others looked up. They saw the big white goose flapping its wings and making a noise.
That’s right, it was a big goose, only this one was several times larger than a normal goose. It was a goose that had begun to practice cultivation, a Spirit Beast.
Celeste Grant took one look, and only four words came to mind.
’Mmm, iron-pot stewed goose.’
"Daddy... Mommy..."
A cheerful voice came from the back of the big goose. They looked toward the sound and saw a small figure on its back. She was tugging on a collar fitted around the goose’s neck, looking right at them.
It was her daughter, Elise Sinclair.
The little girl was always dashing about, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Seeing her daughter, Celeste Grant smiled, waved, and called out, "Ellie, be careful!"
"I know, Mommy! I won’t fall."
As she spoke, the large goose swooped down and landed in the courtyard. Once the goose had touched down, the little girl, who was just a few years old, hopped right off its back.
She waved a hand and looked at the goose.
"Big White, want to stay? We’re having iron-pot stewed goose tonight."
At these words, the big goose craned its neck and let out two loud HONKS, shrank back to the size of a normal goose, and immediately flew off in a panic.
Watching the Spirit Beast flee, the little girl put her hands on her hips, threw her head back, and laughed. "Hahaha! Big White, you’re such a scaredy-cat!"
Watching her impish daughter, Celeste Grant looked on with resignation.
"Elise Sinclair, you’re scaring that goose again."
The little girl giggled. "Of course not, Mommy. I’m just training Big White’s courage."
Noticing two strangers beside her daddy and mommy, the little girl looked at them, her small face filled with curiosity.
"Mommy, who are they?"
Her gaze shifted from the handsome young man to the beautiful woman, and her eyes lit up. "Wow, such a handsome big brother, and a pretty big sister!"
Celeste Grant chuckled. "She’s not a ’big sister.’ This is your Aunt Nerida, so you should call her ’Auntie.’ And this is your Aunt Nerida’s Taoist Companion. He’s your uncle, so you should call him ’Uncle.’"
She gasped. "Wow! Mommy, is this the one you told me about? My fair and beautiful Aunt Nerida?"
The little girl’s voice was tender and innocent, so crisp and clear it made you want to pull her into a hug. At that moment, looking at the child before her, Nerida felt her heart completely melt from the cuteness.
