Chapter 487: Chapter 486: Instantly Killing the Golden Crow Trio

As they spoke, the expressions of the three turned cold. They simultaneously unleashed their power, striking out at Kaelan.

The trio was incredibly powerful, attacking with lethal intent from the very start. They were determined to kill Kaelan. However, Kaelan didn’t hold back either, unleashing a vicious assault against all three.

Before, he would have stood no chance against the three of them combined and would have likely been slain on the spot. But now, his cultivation had increased by a thousand years. So, even if he couldn’t defeat them, he could at least put up a fight.

Kaelan was at a clear disadvantage, fighting one against three. The trio was undeniably strong, but taking his life wouldn’t be so easy. For a moment, the battle raged, with streaks of light flashing across the sky and ground as they clashed relentlessly.

Soon, over a hundred rounds had passed.

The longer they fought, the more alarmed the three members of the Golden Crow Clan became.

They had likely never expected Kaelan to improve so quickly, his cultivation becoming this powerful. Even with their combined strength, they couldn’t easily kill him.

The leader of the group spoke.

"Kaelan, we admit you’re quite impressive. But this is as far as you go."

As he spoke, they all reached out and summoned their Lifebound Magical Treasures.

Kaelan felt no fear.

It was at times like this that he had to be at his calmest. This was a lesson learned from his many years on the battlefield. The more nervous and flustered you became, the more openings you revealed, giving the enemy an opportunity to strike.

While Kaelan was locked in battle with the three from the Golden Crow Clan, the woman who had fallen into the river flew out of the water and landed steadily on the bank.

"Kill him."

"I want his life for my daughter’s!"

The woman who emerged from the water was Blackeye—Jocelyn Grant’s mother in Empyria. Her black clothes were sopping wet and her hair was a disheveled mess, with a few strands of seaweed still clinging to it. Her face was a mask of furious madness; all she wanted was to take Kaelan’s life.

Just as she shouted, the Golden Crow trio were sent flying backward, spitting up blood. Kaelan, their opponent, was in even worse condition. With bones broken, he fell from the sky, coughing up blood.

Seeing that the three from the Golden Crow Clan had failed to gain a significant advantage even in a three-on-one fight, Blackeye’s eyes blazed with fury. She attacked at once, intending to take Kaelan’s life while he was severely injured.

Seeing this, Celeste Grant acted immediately.

"Primordial Sword, go." As her words fell, the Immortal Sword that served as her hairpin shot from its sheath with a sharp ZING, growing larger in mid-air. The ice-blue blade, enveloped in Immortal Spirit Qi, flew straight toward the back of the woman on the shore.

Blackeye had focused all her power into her attack on Kaelan, leaving her back completely unguarded. The moment she unleashed her strike, she felt a sudden chill from behind.

Before she could defend herself, the sword had already pierced straight through her physical defenses.

In that instant, a sharp pain shot through her chest. She looked down to see a layer of frost crystallizing on her chest where the sword had pierced straight through her. Before she could even react, the blade was withdrawn. Then, a palm strike sent her flying back into the river, kicking up a huge splash.

As for her attack on Kaelan, Javier Sinclair blocked it with a mere wave of his hand.

Although Kaelan was touched that Celeste Grant and her companion had come to his aid, he felt he couldn’t let them get dragged into his problems.

With this thought, he flew to stand a short distance from Celeste Grant.

Kaelan glanced at the Golden Crow trio, then back at Javier Sinclair and his companion, his heart filled with both gratitude and worry. He couldn’t bear the thought of dragging these two fellow cultivators into his mess.

He said, "You two need to leave, quickly! They’re from the Celestria; I can’t drag you into this. I will never forget your help today. If I make it out of this alive, I promise I’ll treat you to a drink. Now go!"

Very few people in this world had ever been kind to him, so even though they had just met, he cherished this camaraderie. He would rather die, his very soul scattered to the winds, than allow these two to fall into the hands of the Celestria.

"I will remember the kindness you two have shown me. In the future, I will repay it a hundred, a thousand times over."

At this, the Golden Crow trio turned their furious gaze upon Javier Sinclair and Celeste Grant.

"Kaelan, I never thought you’d have accomplices."

"And they’re Demon Cultivators? Kaelan, you truly have fallen to the Demonic Path. For a member of the Celestria to consort with Demon Cultivators is simply unforgivable."

"Insignificant Demon Cultivators. Die!"

Javier Sinclair looked up slightly, his calm gaze sweeping over the three. His thin lips parted. "Insignificant Demon Cultivators? You three molting crows, who do you think you’re looking down on? Even the ancestor of your Golden Crow Clan wouldn’t dare speak to me this way if he were standing before me."

The expressions of the Golden Crow trio changed at his words.

’Who was this young upstart? How dare he openly mention the ancestor of their Golden Crow Clan and spout such arrogant nonsense.’

"You arrogant little..."

Before the leader could finish his sentence, Javier Sinclair suddenly reached out and made a grasping motion. In the next instant, an immense pressure descended. It was the Power of Laws. In a flash, the man’s body dissipated, turning into dust that scattered on the wind.

"The Power of Laws..."

In all of heaven and earth, anyone who could command the Power of Laws was an unparalleled expert. When the two remaining members of the Golden Crow Clan saw their companion instantly annihilated, their faces paled. They froze in place, then instinctively turned to flee.

"Since you’re already here, you might as well stay."

He raised his hand and gave a light flick of two fingers.

Simultaneously, the two fleeing figures simply dissipated in mid-air. A gust of wind blew past, leaving nothing behind.

The scene was utterly astounding.

That immense pressure, that destructive Power of Laws... He felt his entire body freeze. It was a feeling that warned him that even the slightest ill intention would see him suffer the same fate as the Golden Crow trio—instant annihilation into ash.

He stood rooted to the spot, completely petrified.

Kaelan’s eyes widened, and he swallowed subconsciously.

’Is... is this some great power who descended to the Lower Realm to experience life?’

A light flick of a finger.

And they were turned to dust.

He had fought so desperately.

But this man had solved it all with a mere lift of his hand. And to think Kaelan had just been offering to sacrifice his life to let them escape... He flushed with embarrassment at the memory.

Shaking off his shock, he finally found his voice, though it still came out haltingly. "F-Fellow... Fellow Cultivator, you are so powerful. I was blind not to see it."

Javier Sinclair replied calmly, "Killing a few crows is doable."

Kaelan: "..."

’Those were Golden Crows,’ he wanted to say.

’But if his fellow cultivator said they were crows, then crows they were. Even if God himself descended and said otherwise, they would still be crows.’

Celeste Grant stretched out her hand.

The ice-blue sword circled twice in the air before landing in her palm, shrinking as it did. She slid it back into the hairpin-like sheath in her bun.

"Fellow Cultivator, are you all right?"

"You look badly hurt. Take an Elixir Pill to settle your nerves." As she spoke, she casually tossed a bottle of Elixir Pills to him.

’These were Elixir Pills refined by an elder from the Demonic Domain; she had a huge stash that she could never use up. A single pill would be more than enough to heal his injuries.’
