Chapter 917: Xie Jing’s boyfriend
Chapter 917: Xie Jing’s boyfriend
Next morning.
Beijing airport’s departure hall.
The departure hall was full. Dong Xuebing, Xie Huilan, and Xie Hao arrived early. Xie Hao was with them because he slept over at Dong Xuebing’’s villa after packing his luggage. They were waiting for Xie Ran and Xie Jing.
After a while, Xie Ran and Xie Jing arrived. They were pushing their luggage, and a young man in his twenties was behind them.
“Bro, Sis.’ Xie Hao greeted them impatiently. “Why are you all so late? Hurry up!”
Xie Ran smiled. “There was a traffic jam, and there’s still more than an hour before the flight departed. What’s the rush?”
Xie Huilan looked at the young man behind Xie Jing. “Xiao Jing, care to introduce him?”
Xie Jing’s face was slightly red. “Err…. This is my boyfriend, Sun Kai. He is a middle school teacher, teaching English.”
Xie Huilan extended her hand with a smile. “Nice to meet you.”
Sun Kai quickly shook Xie Huilan’s hand. “Hi….”
Everyone knew Xie Jing was bringing her boyfriend, and Madam Han prepared the visa for them. Xie Jie and Sun Kai started dating around one month ago. A friend introduced them, but Dong Xuebing heard Xie Jing’s parents, Xie Guoliang, do not like him. It was because Sun Kai is from an ordinary family. She got to tell Han Jing secretly about her boyfriend, or her parents would not allow her to go.
Xie Hao teased Xie Jing. “Ah, Sis…. You finally got a boyfriend.”
Xie Jing gave Xie Hao a stare and turned to Sun Kai. “This is my eldest Sis and Brother-in-law. You have met Xiao Ran, and this is my younger brother, Xiao Hao.”
Sun Kai greeted them anxiously.
Dong Xuebing nodded. “Nice to meet you.”
Xie Huilan smiled. “Let’s check-in. It’s about time.”
Dong Xuebing whispered to Xie Huilan as they walked toward the check-in counters. “Is Xiao Jing’s boyfriend reliable? I find him quite innocent. Why are her parents opposing their relationship?”
Xie Huilan looked at Dong Xuebing. “They are only dating and not getting married.”
Dong Xuebing continued asking. “Does he know about your family’s background?”
“Haha…. Why do you care?”
“Xiao Jing is also my sister. Of course, I care about her.”
“I need to correct you. It is not my family. It is our family.” Xie Huilan smiled and continued walking. “I think he still does not know. Xiao Jing should be keeping it from him.”
Behind Dong Xuebing and the rest.
Sun Kai and Xie Jing were whispering with each other. “Jingjing, I know your brother is working in the Youth League Committee, and you are working in Xin Hua News Agency. How come your eldest sis is also a government official?”
Xie Jing looked at him. “How do you know?”
Sun Kai smiled wearily. “She has a Leader’s aura like our principal. I was shaking just now.”
Xie Huilan always has a smile, and no one knows what she is thinking.
Xie Jing whispered. “My Sis’s position is much higher than your principal's. She is currently Grassroot City’s Deputy Mayor. A Deputy Bureau Director.”
Sun Kai was shocked. “What? A Deputy City Mayor?!”
Xie Jing nodded. “What’s wrong? Don’t be scared of her. She was friendly and treated us well. She used to take care of us when we were younger.”
Sun Kai continued asking. “What about your Brother-in-law?”
Xie Jing replied. “My Brother-in-law is a Grassroot City’s Commission for Discipline Inspection, Inspection First Office’s Director.” She added. “He is only twenty-five years old.”
Sun Kai was dumbfounded as he looked at Xie Huilan and Dong Xuebing. He thought Xie Jing and Xie Ran held high ranks. One is a Section Chief, and the other is a Deputy Division Chief. It was rare for someone at their age to reach their rank. However, Xie Huilan and Dong Xuebing’s ranks were more ridiculous.
A thirty-one years old Deputy City Mayor and a twenty-five years old Deputy Division Chief?!
Sun Kai did not know what to say.
Xie Jing mumbled. “I will tell you about my family in the future.”
Sun Kai asked worryingly. “Jingjing, tell me the truth. Are you… are you an Official second generation?”
Xie Jing rolled her eyes. “What’s with this name calling? Just think what you want.”
“Err….” Sun Kai stuttered. “You… you…. Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I….”
Xie Jing grew impatient. “You… you… you…. What has my family got to do with us?! No one is stopping you if you don’t want to go! Hmph! I had begged my Aunt to help you get this air ticket.”
Sun Kai apologized. “I don’t mean that. Don’t be angry with me.”
Xie Jie looked at Sun Kai and made him carry her luggage. She held his arm and said. “That’s more like it. Let’s go.”
Sun Kai did not ask any more questions and followed them to check-in.
On board the plane.
First class cabin.
Xie Huilan passed her luggage to Dong Xuebing to let him keep it in the overhead compartment. She clapped to get her brothers' and sister's attention. “I will repeat this before we depart. Our family had assigned me to be the group leader. Do you all have any objections? Hahaha…. Good. I will decide on our itinerary in Taiwan, and none of you can leave the group without my permission. Do you all understand?”
Xie Hao grumbled. “Yes, Sis.” He mumbled under his breath. “Do you think we are at your workplace? Must you say something before any activities?”
Dong Xuebing also felt frustrated and interrupted Xie Huilan. “Wait…. who says you are the group leader? Mum asked me to bring them around, and we had decided earlier.”
Xie Huilan smiled. “You will take care of their safety, and I will give the commands.”
Dong Xuebing was speechless. “How can you take away my authority like this?”
Everyone laughed.
Xie Huilan lokked at Dong Xuebing and returned to her seat. “You can be the overall in charge if you want, and you can decide our itinerary there.”
Dong Xuebing nodded. “That’s more like it.”
Xie Huilan added. “But all your decisions must be approved by me first. Haha….”
Damn! Dong Xuebing thought to himself. What’s the difference? You are still deciding everything, and I am a puppet.”
Dong Xuebing sat down and stroked Xie Huilan’s tummy. “Never mind. I will let you win because you are pregnant. Do whatever you want.” He turned to the rest. “Remember to switch on your phones twenty-four hours, and call me when anything happens.”
“Yes.”
“I know.”
