Elias’s POV

Few hours earlier

Noah’s wish for sixty-nine positions hasn’t left my mind yet. Being this vast in knowledge didn’t prepare me for that request and I only know six positions.

Where does one get sixty-three more positions from?

"Open, pup" mom murmurs and I open my mouth to take the spoon of chicken soup.

"I wasn’t shot in the hand, Mother. I can feed myself" I complain and my mom, the Siren, gives me an icy glare.

"I didn’t ask for your comment or opinion on taking care of my son" he says and I open my mouth to take the next spoon without another complaint.

"You pulled on your needle and the area will be swollen for a while" he says and I look at the back of my hand.

Noah had slept on it accidentally. I noticed it too late and the shift caused the liquid to swell the area.

"You were lucky it didn’t cause much damage, Eli" he says.

I drop my hands in my lap, murmur an apology, and keep a straight face.

"And just because I’m not speaking about it doesn’t mean I can’t smell the strawberry in your sheets" he adds and my lips curl in a small smile.

He knows. I knew he would figure it out. And I knew he would be quietly angry.

"It was only for a few hours" I say, lifting my head to meet my mother’s stormy eyes.

"A few hours is more than enough to inject poison into your IV, Elias. Your life is on the line" he snaps at me and I stay quiet.

He doesn’t hate Noah, he hates the amount of traumatic experiences surrounding our family.

My life is on the line? Yes.

Will I pull out all the needles and go looking for the birthday boy? Yes.

The door opens and a man with salt and pepper hair peeks in.

He’s one of father’s inner circle men. Silas. A trusted alpha guard who has been with my family longer than I’ve been existing.

"Luna. There’s an important meeting and your husband needs your attention" he says and mom places the bowl of soup on the side table.

"I’ll ask one of your brothers to check on you" he says and I nod.

The second the door shuts behind my mother, I busy myself with setting my body free from this bed. I lift the bandage up. Pull out the needle. And press down on the wound to slow the blood flow.

"Mom hasn’t been gone for ten minutes and you’re already misbehaving?" Damien asks and I ignore his voice.

"You used to be his most properly behaved pup, what has gotten into you, watch boy? Is omega hole that good?" he asks, strolling into the room with his hands in his pockets like a human peacock.

"You smell like apple." I throw at him and he grins, nodding with pride.

"Rightfully so."

"Zane?"

"I gave your husband the best birthday gift, the joys of life, the hug of a best friend, and the smile of a loved one" he says with his hand on his chest.

How dare he?

I already have to war against Roman in Noah’s head. Do I have to compete with Zane too?

"Do you find stepping on my toes funny?" I ask. My hand is already reaching for the antiseptic solution container. I have only one goal. Throw it at my older brother.

"Keep your toes out of my line of sight" he says, casually catching the container I just threw it at him.

"You’ll get over it" He grins and comes closer to the bedside.

The smell of apple on him is too strong. He smells like he rubbed Zane’s dirty clothes all over himself. It’s not difficult to picture him doing that.

My brother has a problem with his obsessive side.

"How do you feel?" Damien asks without saying any additional jokes and I nod grimly.

I’m physically weak, but my mind is in a more disturbed position.

"Do you know sixty-nine positions?" I ask and Damien startles visibly.

"What did you say?" he asks slowly.

"Sixty-nine positions" I repeat.

"Holy fuck" he whispers and starts to laugh.

The laughter starts small, but grows louder with each second that passes, and I wait patiently. Jaw ticking and arms folded. When he’s done laughing, he’ll give me an answer.

He stops for a second to look at me and I tilt my head to the side in a questioning manner.

Unfortunately, my action seems to amuse him even more as he laughs even harder.

"Bro, I can’t breathe" he holds one hand up and places one hand on his knee.

"Damien, I don’t enjoy being laughed at" I say flatly and he immediately straightens his back. He clears his throat and mutters, "right" under his breath.

"What was the question again?" my brother asks.

"Sixty-nine--"

"Sixty nine!" Damien starts to laugh again and this time, I throw the entire kidney dish at him. Satisfaction floods my chest as it hits his head and falls to the floor with a clatter.

"Fuck you" he keeps on laughing.

"Fuck. You" I spit.

I don’t understand why he’s laughing. What’s funny about needing to know sixty-nine positions?

I get out of the bed and Damien holds his hand out to make me wait.

"Okay sit, I’ll tell you everything I know. But you have to tell me how you came across it" he says and I sit again.

Humiliation is one of the many prices a person pays for knowledge.

"Noah wants to have sixty-nine positions" I state plainly and his eyes widen a fraction.

"Fuck. Your innocent angel is a freak in the sheets?" Damien asks.

"I don’t like when you talk about him like that" I say and he holds his hands up.

"In my defense, he’s like a medieval painting. Incredibly good-looking and naughty but too...medieval" he says and I swallow my growl.

I’m in no shape to fight with him today.

"Will you tell me what I need to know or not?" I ask and he smiles.

"Your omega wants his ass ate while he’s sucking your dick" Damien says explicitly and something explodes in my head.

That can’t be right.

"Are you making things up?" I ask.

"Why would I? It’s sixty-nine position, not sixty-nine positions" Damien corrects me.

Fuck.

Noah wants that...with me?

I need to ask him what sort of things are in the materials he used to watch and read in secret.

"Thank you for your resourceful response" I tell my brother, ignoring his chortles as I get up again.

I am ready to go about my business. I will gladly give Noah what he wants and I will push every other person out of his head.

I’m ready for war.
