Noah’s POV

This is a perfect time to take out the pink headphones Siren gifted me.

We’re in the private jet, Elias is still watching me like he’s stealing oxygen through the act of his eyes caressing my skin, and Kai is sulking somewhere in the corner.

My headphones and hoodie are so cozy as I fold myself into one of the seats. I love the view from here. The clouds are so pretty and look soft.

Imagine being a bird and enjoying all this beauty...it’s just sad that humans are selfish and mean. I don’t know if I should thank the Goddess for the Deus family or what. So far, I know they manage criminals, but they also do criminal acts. At this point I think the world is one big bicycle...I guess one has to find the balance in order not to fall.

I feel someone taking the seat next to me and I groan; I don’t need to turn my head to know who it is. It’s Lord Elias I-annoy-Noah-for-a-living Deus. The alpha doesn’t bother me as he pulls out a book.

Since my headphone isn’t playing anything, I get tempted to look at his book, but I don’t do it.

’No. We are giving him silent treatment’ I say to myself and fold my arms across my chest. Elias doesn’t seem bothered by my show as he flips the page of his book. His face is blank and his posture impeccable. He’s always like this, but something about today is especially suspicious.

I sneak a peek at his book, and when I see nothing readable, I pretend to adjust my position.

His moans grow louder as his blunt tip slips into me. The stretch, perfectly wet and hot, makes me arch my back into him. "Shhh" Ray whispers in my ear, "your family is right there."

Oh. My. Goddess. Is that a book from my private collection at Winslow?

I sit up and snatch the book from him. The alpha isn’t fazed as I read the title. IT IS MY BOOK FROM WINSLOW. The dirty desires of a priest’s son.

"W-why do you have this?" I stutter and he holds his hand out.

"We live in a free world, Noah. I can have this if I want. Give it" he says like this is something casual and I stop myself from screeching at him like pterodactyl. "The box this book was in clearly said keep out. Can you not read?" I ask.

"Like Damien, I deem myself to be aliterate whenever I want" he says and makes a ’give me’ motion with his hand. I want to explode. I want to slap him with the book, and I want to throw him out of this jet.

"I liked you better when you were acting all icy and untouchable" I hiss.

"Don’t lie, Angel. I know your tells" he says flatly, but his lips twitch. He didn’t find my bug joke funny, and he thinks this is funny? This is annoying.

"I am so done with you. I don’t want to see you anymore" I say as I take my book and leave the seat. I go to the section of the jet with a bed and fall into it. Goddess, Elias makes me want to rip my own hair out.

He’s not coming here to bother me, but he’s looking at me from his seat. Did Damien’s soul possess my husband or something? I don’t remember Elias being this frustrating.

I curse him out with my limited vocabulary of swear words and choose to take a nap. It’s going to be a long, long flight.

My nap turns out to be a very short one. I wake up with the urge to pee and hurry to the bathroom. When I’m done with doing my business and washing my hands, I return to the place where I left Elias.

I pause to be polite when I find one of the flight attendants talking to him. He’s an omega with blonde hair and pretty green eyes. I stay rooted as the man leans forward with a suggestive smile on his face.

Wait...is he flirting?

Elias says something and the omega laughs, placing a hand over his mouth elegantly. He’s acting as elegant as I used to be. And when he tucks his hair behind his ear and starts to sway side-to-side, my guts churn.

I hate it.

"You’re lucky Damien isn’t your husband. He would have bent that omega over and had his fill in seconds" Kai’s dry voice says from behind me and I wince. The thought of Elias touching someone else makes me sick. The thought of him being with someone else sexually upsets me even more.

’Mate’ my omega whines and I’m moving before I can even stop it.

"I want to sit" I say to Elias and the flight attendant’s smile wobbles. I guess he didn’t think I would speak up for what’s mine. I hate how everyone classes me; my good boy days are over.

When Elias delays in giving me an answer, I give myself a place to sit. I fall into his lap carefully and his arms automatically wrap themselves around me. Good.

I turn to the attendant with my ’public-perfect’ smile.

"Hi...I’m Mr. Deus. May we help you?" I ask, baring my throat to show off my mating mark and the omega’s jaw drops.

"I was asking Mr. Deus if he’d enjoy some vanilla flavored drink" he says.

"No, he likes strawberry better. Don’t you, husband?" I ask and Elias’s eyes flash with that insane possession.

"Yes, I prefer strawberry. You’re dismissed, Jamie" he says and the flight attendant leaves us. Once he’s gone, I pull myself out of Elias’s lap, but he pulls me back.

"Where do you think you’re going?" he asks with a growl, and I melt into his arms. I have no spine when it comes to him. I am obsessed with this dark-haired prince.

"I’m going away" I feign annoyance and his arms tighten.

"You enjoy seeing me like a broken mess, don’t you?" he asks and I press my lips together instead of answering.

"Did you think I’d want anyone else when I’m already bound to you, Angel?" he asks again, and I still don’t answer. My headphones are lopsided, but I’m not fooling him with my fake music listening activity.

"I fucking love you" he murmurs and I rest into him completely.

"I love you too" I respond with red cheek and an annoyed tone. From somewhere nearby, I hear Kai mutter, "how annoying."

I genuinely can’t wait to see him melted in love.
