Polluted Zone Live: The Useless Guide Stole the Show!

Chapter 6: A Very Profitable Partnership

If Summer ever found out who kept making those sugar daddy comments, she would definitely blow their head off.

"Thank you," Summer said once she felt a little better.

She still felt awkward looking at Archer, but for some reason, she could not take her eyes off him.

’I thought I only found him handsome because I was in heat. But I’m already sober now, so why does he still look so handsome?’

There had to be something seriously wrong with her.

"Where is your teammate?" Archer suddenly asked. His eyes fell on the F-Rank Guide emblem on her uniform. "Did they abandon you?"

Summer was too lazy to make up a sad story just to get his sympathy, so she answered casually, "No. I abandoned them."

Archer raised his eyebrows, tilting his head to the side. He asked in confusion, "I’m sorry?"

He looked genuinely shocked. Well, Summer could understand why.

Someone wearing an F-Rank Guide emblem had no business wandering around a B-Rank Polluted Zone alone.

Summer sighed and rolled her eyes. "Oh, come on. Don’t be so classist, dear elite one." She pointed at him. "If I’m really that useless, do you think I could guide you?"

From the original body’s memories, Summer also knew a thing or two about Archer Reed. Summer had never met Archer personally, but as one of the elite Sentinels, of course his name frequently appeared in the media.

Ever since he was classified as an SSS-Rank Sentinel, no Guide had ever reached more than 60% compatibility with him.

Because of that, he had not been properly guided for almost ten years, and his pollution level had always remained dangerously high.

He used to have teammates, but for some reason, he stopped joining teams two years ago and started going into Polluted Zones alone.

"It’s not what I meant," Archer said. "This place is dangerous for a Guide to be alone. Any Guide, not just you."

That was true.

Most Guides only received basic combat training. Their main focus was controlling their mental power and learning how to guide Sentinels.

That was why Guides were required to enter Polluted Zones with at least one Sentinel.

A Guide entering a Polluted Zone alone usually meant one of two things; hey were either crazy or suicidal.

Summer was pretty sure she was both.

Before Summer could say anything else, several new comments suddenly appeared on her livestream screen.

[Summer, don’t let him leave! Do you know how rare it is to see Archer Reed for more than five minutes?!]

[Forget the polluted creatures. I’m here for the SSS-Rank Sentinel.]

[Can someone tell Archer to turn on his livestream camera???]

[Archer Reed, if you can hear us, TURN ON YOUR CAMERA!]

[Why does this man even have a BeastNet account if he never turns on his camera?!]

Summer raised her eyebrows. Archer did not even turn on his livestream camera?

Then again, he was an SSS-Rank Sentinel. His base payment alone was probably ridiculously high. He did not need to entertain viewers just to earn some extra credits, unlike her.

That thought reminded Summer of something important: her money.

She quickly opened her livestream stats.

[BeastNet Livestream]

[Current Viewers: 535,883]

[Followers: 10,921]

[Current Earnings: 1,028,894 Credits]

Summer stared at the number and opened her mouth widely. Over half a million viewers?!

Her camera had been completely black for three whole hours, yet instead of leaving, even more people had joined her livestream.

Summer slowly turned her head toward Archer, then she looked at the viewer count, and then back at Archer.

Her eyes suddenly became much friendlier.

Archer noticed the change immediately. "What?"

Summer smiled at him. "You know, now that I think about it, you’re right. This place is quite dangerous for a weak little Guide like me."

Archer looked at her in confusion because a while ago, she acted a bit cold toward him.

Summer ignored his expression and continued, "How about we go together? I can guide you for a while."

The comments immediately went wild.

[HAHAHAHA WHY DID HER ATTITUDE CHANGE SO FAST?]

[Summer, we can see your stats too!]

[Girl smelled money and immediately changed her mind.]

[STAY WITH HIM! WE SUPPORT THIS DECISION!]

Summer calmly closed the comments because they talked too much.

The B-Rank Polluted Zone had only recently received an official order for a complete cleanup, which meant there should still be plenty of polluted creatures wandering around.

Archer was an SSS-Rank Sentinel, and with so many polluted creatures still wandering around, there would definitely be plenty of fighting ahead.

For Summer, every fight meant more content, and having Archer Reed appear on her livestream would only attract even more viewers.

Suddenly, staying close to Archer seemed like a very, very good idea.

Even Archer could see the obvious reason behind her sudden change of attitude, but he did not seem bothered by it.

"I don’t mind," he replied. He was silent for a moment before adding somewhat hesitantly, "Do you want to become teammates?"

Summer frowned. She had thought Archer always went solo because he liked being alone.

After all, he had not joined any team for the past two years, and from what she remembered, he had never shown any interest in finding new teammates.

Yet now, he was suddenly asking her?

[Girl, what are you doing? Just say YES!] ℴℴ𝘮

[Summer, when an SSS-Rank Sentinel offers you something nice, don’t hesitate!]

[DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY GUIDES WOULD KILL FOR THIS CHANCE?!]

However, Summer had a much more important concern.

If she officially formed a team with Archer, wouldn’t her earnings also be split with him?

He probably did not care about the money, considering how much an SSS-Rank Sentinel earned, but Summer cared. Very much.

Her expression immediately became serious. "How does the payment work? Do we have to split our earnings later?"

Archer opened his mouth, but then closed it again, as if he was thinking about something.

"We can still keep our earnings separate," he finally said. "I can take the mission rewards, and you can keep whatever you earn from your livestream."

Summer stared at him. "All of it?"

He nodded. "Yes."

Her eyes immediately lit up. Now they were talking!

Archer continued, "If we receive a mission that requires both of us, we can divide the reward based on our contribution."

Summer slowly nodded. That sounded fair enough. More importantly, Archer had just said that he would not touch her livestream earnings.

The comments immediately started laughing at her.

[LOOK AT HER FACE OMG!]

[She heard "keep your livestream earnings" and suddenly became interested.]

[Archer figured her out so fast LMAO.]
