Polluted Zone Live: The Useless Guide Stole the Show!
Chapter 21: Don’t Mess With the Bunny
Summer’s rabbit ears twitched at his comment, but she let him keep going.
She was still smiling, but anyone paying attention would have noticed that the smile no longer reached her eyes.
Unfortunately, the A-Rank Sentinel did not seem to notice or maybe he simply did not care.
"I mean, think about it." He spread his hands as if he were explaining something obvious. "An F-Rank Guide suddenly appears out of nowhere, claims she has ninety-six percent compatibility with Archer Reed, and somehow manages to guide him when higher-ranked Guides couldn’t?"
He laughed. "Either you cheated the test, drugged him, or—" His gaze slowly moved over Summer’s body and the meaning behind that look was obvious enough. "Maybe you found another way to convince him to keep you around."
Right at that moment, Summer’s smile completely disappeared.
"What? Why are you looking at me like that? Everyone saw your livestream. You disappeared with him for three hours, then came back acting like you suddenly became some amazing Guide." He gave a short laugh. "I guess even an F-Rank can be useful if she knows what else to offer."
Summer let out a harsh sigh, then looked down.
The A-Rank Sentinel noticed and immediately sneered. "What? Are you going to cry now?"
Archer’s expression darkened. He was already about to rise from his chair when Summer suddenly spoke. "No."
The next second, the metal tray in her hand flew straight into the Sentinel’s face.
BANG!
Before he could even react, Summer swung it again and again.
BANG! BANG!
She struck his face three times, and all three times, she heard the sound of his skull cracking.
The Sentinel stumbled backward so hard that his chair toppled over, and he crashed into the table behind him. Plates jumped, drinks spilled, and someone nearby immediately grabbed their food before it could fall.
Everything fell silent for a moment, until Summer finally said, "Oh, wow. The tray is pretty sturdy."
The Sentinel gritted his teeth and immediately pushed himself back to his feet. His face was swollen, and blood was running from his nose, but apparently, getting smashed in the face with a tray three times was not enough to seriously hurt an A-Rank Sentinel.
"You bitch!"
He suddenly grabbed the chair beside him and lifted it above his head, ready to smash it into Summer.
However, before he could even take a step forward, a deep voice filled with authority echoed through the cafeteria. "Touch my Guide, and I’ll make sure the crack in your skull gets bigger."
The chair was still raised above his head, but the moment his eyes met Archer’s, all the anger on his face seemed to disappear.
He didn’t even dare to move even an inch.
To be fair, picking a fight with Summer right in front of Archer was already a bold move. However, his hatred for her seemed to have completely clouded his mind so that for those few moments, he had forgotten everything else.
He simply wanted to kill Summer. That was all.
"I... I didn’t mean to," the Sentinel quickly said as he slowly lowered the chair.
He took a step back when he saw Archer get up from his chair and walk toward him. "I promise I won’t do this again."
Archer stopped in front of him and looked him up and down.
"Unfortunately," he said casually, "a mistake like this won’t be settled with an apology and your dumb promise."
As soon as those words left his mouth, several security guards rushed into the cafeteria.
They took one look at the overturned chairs, spilled food, broken plates, and the blood on the Sentinel’s face before quickly making their way toward them.
The A-Rank Sentinel’s eyes immediately lit up. "Oh, thank God!" He pointed at Summer without wasting a second. "Guards, they’ve been harassing me! Look at my wounds! This rabbit attacked me! Arrest her!"
Who would have thought that Summer would say the same thing? Except she added a few tears here and an innocent look there.
"Guards, he has been harassing me!" Summer said, trying to look as harmless as possible. "I was just trying to defend myself!"
She turned her head to the side, her shoulders trembling slightly to make it look like she was crying. Unfortunately, Archer was standing close enough to clearly see the tiny smile hiding on her face.
He sighed. "They’re here for you in the first place," Archer said.
For a second, she thought Archer meant that the guards were there to arrest her. However, it turned out that Archer had already called security earlier to deal with the Sentinel.
"He harassed my Guide and made her uncomfortable," Archer told the security guards. "Please remove him from this place."
"What?!" The Sentinel’s courage suddenly returned the moment he realized he might actually get arrested. He pointed at his own bloody face in disbelief. "I’m the one with broken bones and blood here!"
Summer immediately turned back toward him. Her eyes were still filled with very fake tears as she pointed an accusing finger at him.
"He insulted me and even hurt my pride! Of course I had to defend myself!" Summer protested. Then, as if she had suddenly remembered something important, she added, "Besides, if he insulted me, doesn’t that mean he also insulted Archer? I’m his Guide, after all."
The Sentinel stared at her in disbelief and then he quickly looked at his teammates one by one, silently begging them to back him up.
Unfortunately, everyone who had happily joined him in insulting Summer earlier suddenly found the walls, tables, and ceiling very interesting.
None of them wanted anything to do with him now.
One of them even quickly raised his hands. "Y-Yes, she’s right. She’s right. He kept insulting Miss Bunny over there."
Summer’s eye twitched. Seriously? Even in real life, she still couldn’t escape that ridiculous nickname?
Another person quickly nodded along. "She was just defending herself. She didn’t lie."
The Sentinel stared at his teammates as if he had just witnessed the greatest betrayal of his life.
"Fuck you!" he shouted at them as the guards started walking toward him.
His face quickly darkened. He knew exactly what would happen if he ended up in prison after messing with an SSS-Rank Sentinel. No matter how he tried to explain himself later, he would definitely be the one who suffered the most.
That was why, without thinking twice, he ran straight toward the window even though he knew the cafeteria was on the third floor.
"Like hell I’m going to let you arrest me!"
CRASH!
Mio threw himself through the window without hesitation. As he fell, he even had enough courage left to raise both middle fingers at Summer.
Summer stared at him in disbelief. Was this man seriously choosing to jump from the third floor instead of getting arrested?
Unfortunately for Mio, his dramatic escape lasted less than a second because a teleportation portal suddenly opened beneath him.
His body disappeared into it—
THUD!
—and immediately dropped out of another portal right in front of the security guards.
Mio lay there in stunned silence.
The guards looked down at him. Summer and Archer looked down at him, even his teammates looked down at him.
It seemd like his escape had ended before it had even started.
One of the guards calmly reached for him. "Mio Hart, you’ve been arrested for harassment, attempted assault, and trying to escape from security."
"Fuck you!" Mio kept shouting at Summer as the guards dragged his ass out of the cafeteria. "I’ll turn you into a rabbit skewer once I get out!"
