Chapter 210: Chapter 210: Gloria’s Schemes

"Leave this matter to me."

Cynthia trusted Zacian and Zamazenta, trusted Calyrex, and trusted Sora even more.

With that confidence behind her, she would no longer concern herself with the pressure from the Galar royal family. As the Champion of Sinnoh and a mythologist, she intended to overturn the false history herself.

Cynthia: No one is allowed to disrespect Sinnoh. As the Champion, my authority is absolute!

As far as mythology was concerned, Sinnoh was in a league of its own.

How should one put it?

When it came to sheer absurdity, the entire world practically had to kneel before Sinnoh.

Others merely had gods of life and death.

Sinnoh, on the other hand, had the creators of the world, time and space, the power of antimatter and the Distortion World, as well as wisdom, emotion, and will.

Each one was more outrageous than the last!

Fortunately, the deeper secrets of Sinnoh’s mythology had yet to be uncovered.

Even Cynthia didn’t know the true form of the Supreme Being of Sinnoh. She didn’t know that, besides Palkia and Dialga, there was also Giratina.

And she knew even less that beyond time and space stood the true Supreme Being of Sinnoh—the Creator God, Arceus.

Sora didn’t dare tell her directly, either.

There was no helping it.

The power of the alpaca was simply too terrifying!

"Come out, Zacian and Zamazenta."

Sora didn’t hide the two Legendary Pokémon. He released them directly and introduced them to Korrina and the others.

"Wow, what an awesome Pokémon!"

"Hmph."

Zamazenta glanced at Hop and proudly raised her head.

"At least you have good taste."

"Eh?"

Hop and Gloria were stunned simultaneously.

"It can talk?!"

A Pokémon capable of human speech wasn’t something one encountered every day.

The two children had no idea that telepathy existed.

Seeing it for the first time, they were completely amazed.

The two immediately crowded around Zamazenta, bombarding her with questions.

Zamazenta wasn’t annoyed in the slightest.

The two Legendary Pokémon had fairly good tempers. They even occasionally rescued humans who accidentally wandered into the Slumbering Weald.

Besides, Zamazenta could tell that both children were good kids.

They had good character and pure hearts.

Especially the girl named Gloria.

The power hidden within her body was enough to make even Zamazenta’s heart tremble.

"These two children are worlds apart."

Zacian lay beside Sora and watched as her brother was bombarded by the two children.

"They’re both human, and they’re around the same age, yet they’re completely different levels."

"What do you mean?"

Sora already had a guess, but he still asked.

"That girl will probably grow into an extraordinary individual in the future."

"Compared to her, the boy is very ordinary."

Zacian didn’t know the underlying circumstances, but Sora’s suspicions became even stronger.

This world’s Gloria really might possess the potential of the Pokémon Adventures version.

By comparison, Hop was the anime-weakened version, practically an ordinary passerby in terms of combat ability.

"However, neither of them can compare to you."

Zacian looked toward Sora.

"You clearly possess no external power, yet you’ve earned the recognition of so many powerful Pokémon. Even our King and my brother and I can’t help but be drawn to you."

That was what Zacian found most incomprehensible.

If it were Cynthia, there was nothing strange about it.

She was favored by the gods, so of course she could rise rapidly.

There were plenty of chosen ones in the world. Their greatness was only natural.

But Sora...

To be honest, Zacian simply couldn’t understand him.

It was like the son of the world’s richest man being exceptionally good at making money. Everyone would find that perfectly reasonable.

But if some nobody who crawled out of the mud suddenly became the richest person in an entire country within a year, then unified the global economy a few years later...

Was that remotely reasonable?

"You two having the ability to see through people’s hearts is pretty interesting."

Sora knew exactly what his own situation was.

He had walked this entire path as though treading on thin ice. Now, at long last, he could see a chance to make it safely across.

It hadn’t been easy.

Not easy at all.

If Sora had followed the usual path of an ordinary trainer, he’d probably still be somewhere in the underworld, relying on Pokémon assigned to him by some organization, doing menial work while struggling against minor villains.

Ahem. Don’t get carried away.

He had only recruited a handful of powerful Pokémon.

Compared with the gods of time and space or Arceus, it was nothing.

Build strong walls, accumulate provisions, and bide your time before claiming kingship.

Sora was determined to follow those three principles.

He absolutely wouldn’t get arrogant.

"That?"

Zacian found Sora quite pleasant to talk to, and she felt very comfortable around him.

"Consider it a talent."

"How far does it go?"

Sora asked, "Can you see through anyone?"

"Probably."

Zacian left herself some room for doubt.

"At least, we haven’t encountered a human whose heart we couldn’t see through."

"Humans only?"

"What’s there to see in Pokémon?"

Of course Pokémon could be read as well.

But weren’t the Pokémon of this world all essentially cut from the same cloth?

No matter how high their intelligence was, their minds were still rather childlike.

Look at Zacian and Zamazenta themselves.

Sora had managed to coax them around with just a few words.

Even Legendary Pokémon were like this, let alone ordinary Pokémon.

Still too young.

Sora felt that he needed to properly educate the Pokémon around him about the sinister intentions of humanity.

Just look at Victini.

His Vee had already seen through everything.

It was all just one of Sora’s old tricks.

"Later, Zacian, I need you to do me a favor. I want you to look into the heart of a certain human."

"Sure."

Such a small matter wasn’t even worth mentioning.

"It’s important."

Sora’s expression turned serious.

"Your answer will determine my attitude toward that person."

"Is that so?"

Zacian nodded.

"Then I’ll take it very seriously."

"Then I’ll leave it to you."

The person Sora was referring to was, naturally, Lysandre.

Since they were going to cooperate, Sora definitely needed to understand Lysandre’s true nature.

He already had a preconceived impression of Lysandre from the games and anime.

But this was a different world.

Whether Lysandre could truly turn away from the path of evil remained an open question.

At a time like this, the ability of Zacian and Zamazenta to examine someone’s heart would be extremely important.

I hope you don’t disappoint me, Lysandre.

Sora and the others didn’t stay long in Wyndon Town.

On the morning of the third day, they prepared to leave and resume their journey.

At the moment of departure, Hop cried his eyes out.

Anyone who didn’t know better might have thought this wasn’t a farewell, but a funeral.

Gloria was equally reluctant to part.

Their brief time together had made her deeply admire Sora.

Cynthia was certainly very powerful as well.

But Gloria’s instincts told her that there was even more about Sora worth learning from.

Not only was Sora incredibly strong himself, he was also exceptionally skilled at teaching others.

Just the guidance he’d given Korrina that one day had already taught Gloria a tremendous amount.
