Pokémon: Starting From Zero as a Legendary Pokémon
Chapter 163: He Was Almost Torn Apart by Five Horses
Chapter 163: Chapter 163: He Was Almost Torn Apart by Five Horses
Winning over Calyrex was clearly much more difficult than obtaining Ogerpon.
The difficulty wasn’t because Calyrex had a troublesome personality.
In fact, Calyrex was an exceptionally gentle Pokémon.
The real challenge was simply finding a way to meet him.
"So, starting tonight, let’s see if we can awaken the forgotten King of Bountiful Harvests."
Since Sora had brought them here himself, the girls naturally didn’t object.
They knew he wasn’t joking.
As a result, they prayed with complete sincerity.
They truly believed in Calyrex’s existence and genuinely hoped that he would appear before them.
"Lord Calyrex, please hear my prayer..."
"I hope you will come before us and meet us..."
Their prayers weren’t a one-time affair.
For fifteen full minutes, the three continuously recited their words.
During that time, the Pokémon voluntarily joined in as well.
This was actually something Sora hadn’t considered.
The power of faith wasn’t limited to humans.
Pokémon could also place their faith in Calyrex and provide him with strength.
Especially Ogerpon, Volcanion, Magearna, and Victini—the four Legendary Pokémon.
Sora didn’t fully understand the nature of faith itself.
But if measured through life force or Pokémon levels, the faith generated by those four would far surpass that of ordinary humans like himself.
And not by one or two times.
The difference would be tenfold—or even dozens of times greater.
"Mm..."
Meanwhile, somewhere deep within a dark cave buried beneath the snow of the Crown Tundra, a figure slowly opened its eyes.
Its gaze was somewhat dazed, as though someone had shaken it awake from a long slumber.
"Who... is calling for me?"
Calyrex’s consciousness was still muddled.
He had slept for far, far too long.
Then suddenly—
"The voices of believers?!"
The King of Bountiful Harvests jolted awake.
"My followers are praying to me!"
"How long has it been..."
"How long has it been since I last heard the voices of believers?"
Very quickly, Calyrex followed those murmured prayers and identified the source.
Three humans.
Along with many Pokémon.
Among them were four extraordinarily powerful Pokémon whose presence even surprised him.
And among all those believers, one stood out far above the rest.
The sincerity of that individual’s faith eclipsed everyone else.
"There is no mistake."
"I remember now."
"Long ago, I heard your voice within my dreams."
Without question, the one Calyrex focused on was Sora.
"Was it you who spread my name and sought new believers for me?"
"Your actions move me deeply."
"I scarcely know how to repay such devotion."
Listening carefully, the prayers became increasingly clear.
"I see."
"You wish to stand before the great me?"
"Heh."
"For the sake of my adorable believer, such a request is naturally acceptable."
Calyrex had not completely lost his power.
To preserve his strength, he had merely fallen into a long sleep.
Now that he had awakened—and received a fresh wave of faith from Sora and the others—he possessed enough energy to move about once more.
Traveling to a place called Freezington and meeting Sora personally was still within his capabilities.
"If it is him..."
"Perhaps he can help me recover my beloved steed."
Calyrex wanted to regain his strength.
Only then could he use his divine power to grant Sora the reward he deserved.
Even if doing so consumed a tremendous amount of his remaining energy.
Such was the kindness of the King of Bountiful Harvests.
He cherished his people that much.
"Alright, that’s enough for today."
"Let’s stop here."
Sora ended the prayer session.
Checking the time, he saw it was already past seven in the evening.
In a place like Freezington, there wasn’t much to do after dark.
The villagers either stayed home watching television or simply went to bed early.
Sora and his group were no different.
"Tomorrow we’ll head into the mountains to continue searching for the King of Bountiful Harvests."
"So let’s get some rest tonight."
Sora didn’t recall the Pokémon.
Instead, he allowed them to remain in the cabin and settle wherever they liked.
Of course, they were free to stay downstairs and play for a while.
As for Sora, he planned to spend some time chatting with Diantha and Cynthia.
Maintaining relationships was important.
Before he realized it, the time had reached ten o’clock.
After finishing his routine calls with the two women, Sora called Ogerpon and Victini over and prepared for bed.
The two little Pokémon were incredibly attached to him.
Especially Ogerpon.
Ever since being caught, she had hardly spent any time apart from him.
Not that Sora minded.
Cute Pokémon wanting cuddles and affection?
He couldn’t be happier.
"Remember to put on your pajamas."
"Vee, you too—put your arms through properly."
Sora helped both Pokémon into their pajamas.
Then came the crooked sleeping caps perched on their heads, making them look utterly adorable.
Knock knock.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.
Opening it, Sora found Emma standing there with a pillow in her arms.
Beside her floated Espurr.
"What is it, Emma?"
"Sora-ge... um..."
"A little scared."
Emma still wasn’t used to snowstorms.
During the previous two nights, she had stayed with Sora and Korrina in the same cave.
"Can I sleep here with you?"
"Hmm..."
Seeing the cautious look on her face, Sora smiled.
"Sure."
"The bed is actually pretty big."
"Thank you, Sora-ge!"
Emma immediately dove under the blankets.
Behind her floated a half-asleep Espurr.
"And to thank you, Sora-ge, I’ve decided to lend Meowrong to you."
Since Emma would be hugging Sora’s arm while sleeping, Espurr had to go somewhere.
This definitely wasn’t selling out Espurr.
It was just that Emma had no other way to repay Sora.
"Uh..."
"You really think I have any room left?"
Sora looked down.
His left arm had already been claimed by Emma.
His right arm belonged to Ogerpon.
Victini was perched directly on top of his head.
Anyone who saw the arrangement would think they were trying to tear him apart.
"Hm?"
Then Sora noticed something attached to his leg.
Looking down, he found the sleepy Espurr curled up there.
Good grief.
Add one more and he’d practically be getting pulled apart by five horses.
Sigh...
Sora let out a helpless sigh.
What could he do?
He was too soft-hearted.
There was no way he could leave Emma sleeping alone.
So he reluctantly agreed.
I just hope Korrina doesn’t show up.
Otherwise, the joke about being torn apart by five horses might actually come true.
Fortunately, until Sora finally fell asleep, Korrina never came knocking.
The girl had always been carefree.
Her sleep quality was absurdly good.
Some people were simply born with thick nerves.
They ate well, slept well, and enjoyed excellent health.
