Pokémon: Starting From Zero as a Legendary Pokémon
Chapter 160: Corviknight Flying Taxi
Chapter 160: Chapter 160: Corviknight Flying Taxi
"I was the one who told Master about it~~"
Whenever she had the chance, Korrina would try to show off a little in front of Emma.
"In Galar, the best transportation is the Flying Taxi!"
Their destination was the far south of the Galar region.
Traveling there solely on foot or by public transportation would waste far too much time.
Sora had no intention of spending his days on meaningless travel.
At least on the way there, he wanted to move as quickly as possible.
After recruiting Calyrex, he could take things slower on the return trip, enjoy the scenery, and challenge the Gyms in the cities they passed through.
"Caw! Caw!"
"It’s here!"
Hearing the cry, Sora quickly raised his hand.
"Over here! This way!"
A powerful gust of wind swept toward them.
Moments later, a massive Corviknight descended from the sky while towing a carriage-like taxi behind it.
The Flying Taxi had no driver.
Because Corviknight itself was the driver.
Passengers simply informed it of their destination, and the Pokémon would carry them there.
"There’s limited space—only six seats."
Carrying six passengers was far from Corviknight’s true limit.
However, for safety reasons, it needed enough spare strength to respond to unexpected situations, so strict capacity limits were enforced.
"Can I bring Meowren with me?"
"Caw!"
Corviknight glanced at Emma and her Espurr, silently estimating their combined weight before letting out a metallic cry.
"It says that’s fine."
Sora continued counting potential passengers.
"Ogerpon, Magearna, and me make three."
"Then Korrina and little Emma."
Emma and Espurr together barely weighed as much as one adult.
As for Victini—
Since she could fly herself, she didn’t count.
"Anyone else want to experience it?"
Sora asked the Pokémon inside their Poké Balls.
In the end, Lilligant and Ralts volunteered.
Combined, the two weighed less than Sora alone.
"Looks like we’re good."
Thus, Sora and Ogerpon sat in the front row.
Ralts rested in Sora’s arms.
Magearna and Lilligant occupied the middle seats.
The two girls sat in the back.
There was an aisle between the seats, making conversation easy.
"Alright then."
"Let’s go!"
Once everyone was seated, Sora locked the carriage door.
Corviknight raised its head and gave a powerful cry before spreading its wings.
With astonishing strength, it lifted the heavy carriage directly into the air.
"Waaaah~~"
"So high!"
Korrina was having the time of her life.
She loved the sensation of soaring through the sky.
Emma wasn’t afraid of heights, but being suspended so high above the ground still made her instinctively tighten her grip around Espurr.
"Mew..."
Espurr felt incredibly wronged.
Whenever her trainer got emotional, she was the one who suffered.
At this rate, Emma might accidentally flatten her one day.
"So fast!"
Feeling the speed of the Flying Taxi, Sora once again found himself wanting a Flying-type Pokémon.
Actually—
It wasn’t a new idea.
He’d wanted one for a long time.
The only problem was that he hadn’t found the right candidate.
"Corviknight seems pretty good."
Whether it was speed, combat ability, or serving as an aerial mount, Corviknight satisfied nearly all of Sora’s requirements.
The only issue was that regional birds were incredibly common.
Their potential varied wildly.
Finding an exceptional Corviknight depended heavily on luck.
"Forget it."
"No rush."
At the very least, he still had Volcanion.
If something unexpected happened, Volcanion’s steam-powered flight could ensure everyone’s safety.
"So beautiful..."
Emma had finally adapted to being high in the air.
She leaned toward the window and looked out.
An endless expanse of Galar stretched beneath them.
The magnificent scenery left a profound impact on the young girl.
"Right?"
Korrina nodded enthusiastically.
"The first time I came to Galar and rode a Flying Taxi, I was blown away too."
"It’s a shame Kalos doesn’t have a Pokémon suited for transportation like this."
"Otherwise we’d have Flying Taxis too."
"That is unfortunate."
Sora agreed.
"Talonflame’s endurance simply can’t compare to Corviknight’s."
"The difference is huge."
Talonflame’s feathers were incredibly light.
That granted it superior top speed.
But its stamina couldn’t compare.
It was easy to understand why.
Corviknight was covered head to toe in steel armor.
Flying around every day while carrying such tremendous weight naturally built extraordinary endurance.
"CAW!!"
Hearing the passengers praise it, Corviknight became visibly pleased.
Its speed increased slightly.
Interestingly enough—
Despite flying faster, nobody felt any additional turbulence.
That alone demonstrated the incredible skill possessed by the Corviknight trained by the Flying Taxi Company.
"Korrina, how long until we reach the Crown Tundra?"
"Hmm..."
Korrina was fairly familiar with Galar.
After thinking for a moment, she answered:
"Corviknight can’t fly directly to the Crown Tundra."
"We’ll stop at Motostoke first."
"Then we’ll take a train from there to Crown Tundra Station."
"If we’re only talking about reaching Motostoke..."
"Five or six hours should do it."
Corviknight wasn’t slow.
And Hulbury wasn’t particularly far from the central region that connected to the Crown Tundra.
Since they’d departed at dawn, they would definitely arrive before evening.
"So long!"
"Hahaha."
"It’s already incredibly fast, Emma-chan."
After a single night together, Korrina had successfully broken through a small part of Emma’s emotional walls.
The two girls sat close together, creating a surprisingly harmonious scene.
Seeing that made Sora feel rather pleased.
"Anyone want snacks?"
The journey was still long.
Sora opened his bag and distributed various treats to both the Pokémon and the girls.
"Vini!"
Victini was naturally the quickest.
She immediately snatched her favorite macarons.
Then came berries for Ogerpon.
Specialized energy cubes for Magearna.
And so everyone enjoyed snacks brought from Kalos while admiring Galar’s magnificent landscapes.
Without realizing it, half a day passed.
Eventually they arrived in Motostoke.
"Thanks for the ride, Corviknight."
Sora gently patted the Pokémon’s neck before paying the fare through the League system.
The price wasn’t expensive.
In fact, it was surprisingly reasonable.
"Regardless of what kind of person Rose is..."
"His contributions to Galar’s development deserve respect."
Unfortunately, much like Lysandre, Rose had ultimately chosen the path of a villain.
And in the end, he paid the price for it.
