Chapter 152: Chapter 152: Sending Them to Feed the Fish

"I found him!"

"That guy!"

"There’s no mistake—he’s one of the people who took Meowrong!"

Meowrong was the nickname Emma had given her Espurr.

"Let’s go."

Without the slightest hesitation, Sora chose to trust Emma.

He immediately stood up and headed in the direction she pointed.

Before long, he spotted the man she’d identified.

A young man in his twenties wearing a black jacket, currently browsing through the buffet area while selecting food.

"Big Brother Sora?"

"Shh."

Sora motioned for her to stay quiet.

Then he glanced at Victini.

The little Pokémon immediately understood and vanished into thin air.

"Huh?"

Emma was surprised.

But being as clever as she was, she quickly grasped Sora’s plan.

Avoid alerting the enemy.

Have Victini track him.

Find the hideout.

Then catch everyone in one sweep.

As for the captain protecting the smugglers and the Saint Warren itself—

If all they needed was a beating or sinking the ship, Sora could confidently say that would be easy.

But this wasn’t a problem that could be solved through violence.

Without evidence, if he attacked these people, they could easily turn the tables and accuse him instead.

By then, he might find himself unable to remain in Kalos at all.

Powerful Pokémon could ensure he never lost.

They gave him the ability to flip the table.

But changing the fate of an entire region required more than strength alone.

That’s why this matter had to be handled by Diantha.

"I can’t dismantle a smuggling ring."

"But helping you get Meowrong back?"

"That I can do."

"Mm!"

Emma felt deeply moved.

The girl and Sora remained hidden as they watched.

They waited for the young man to finish gathering food before quietly following him.

Eventually, he led them straight to the room where the smugglers were staying.

"Found it!"

Victini slipped through the crack beneath the door and surveyed the room.

"One, two, three, four."

"Four people total."

"As for Pokémon..."

"Can’t see any."

"They’re probably all inside Poké Balls."

With that thought, Victini suddenly made her move.

Invisible psychic power instantly enveloped the entire room.

"Huh?!"

The four smugglers hadn’t even realized what was happening before their bodies froze in place, completely unable to move.

"Vee’s made her move!"

Sora sensed the psychic fluctuations coming from inside.

Beside him, Ogerpon immediately acted.

BOOM!

With a single punch, she blasted the door apart.

The scene terrified the four smugglers.

They wanted to release their Pokémon.

Unfortunately, Victini’s power was simply overwhelming.

Forget the four of them.

Even if they released every Pokémon they possessed, challenging Victini’s infinite energy would be nothing but a fantasy.

Honestly, if Sora weren’t worried about damaging the cruise ship and causing a maritime disaster, he wouldn’t have bothered with any plans at all.

He could have simply steamrolled them.

"Are they the ones?"

"Yes! It’s definitely them!!"

Emma glared at the four men viciously.

Then she excitedly began searching through their luggage.

Soon she discovered a large bag filled with Poké Balls.

All of them were in their minimized state and securely locked.

"Found it!"

Even though every Poké Ball looked almost identical, Emma immediately picked out the one containing her Espurr.

Click.

As the Poké Ball opened, a small Espurr appeared before Sora.

"Esp?"

"Meowrong!!"

Emma could no longer hold back her tears.

She threw herself forward and hugged Espurr tightly.

"I’m sorry... sob..."

"This is all my fault..."

"I shouldn’t have taken you somewhere so dangerous..."

"Waaahhh..."

"Espurr~ Esp!"

Espurr gently wiped away her tears.

There was no blame in her eyes.

Only concern.

She had always known that Emma would come for her.

And sure enough—

She had.

Even facing dangerous criminals, Emma had rushed here without hesitation.

How could Espurr possibly blame a Trainer like that?

If anything, she loved her even more.

"Alright."

"You can catch up later."

Sora began searching through the room and soon found several lengths of rope.

"Come help me."

He handed one to Emma.

The girl didn’t hesitate.

Together, they tightly bound all four smugglers.

"You... who exactly are you?!"

"Damn it!"

"Do you know who you’re messing with?!"

"If you let us go now, we’ll make sure you regret this—mmph! mmph!"

Sora rolled his eyes.

He stuffed cloth into their mouths.

Honestly, he couldn’t understand how these people could be so stupid.

Then again, stupid is good.

Maybe they’ll cough up even more information.

Taking out his communicator, Sora called Diantha and informed her that he and Emma had already captured the smugglers.

"This..."

Diantha suddenly felt rather useless.

For Emma’s sake, she’d endured an evening mingling with upper-class elites she couldn’t stand.

Yet while she was doing that—

Sora had already caught the criminals.

What kind of efficiency was this?

The two of them were making her look completely unnecessary.

Of course, that was just a joke.

Diantha was genuinely happy they had succeeded.

More importantly, she and Sora had come to the same conclusion.

They both wanted to extract additional information from the four men.

Meanwhile, on another part of the ship—

"Hm~ hm hm~"

Malva had successfully located the captain.

And destroyed every piece of evidence in his possession.

The entire process had been remarkably easy.

The Pokémon Diantha had assigned to monitor the ship weren’t weak.

But the Saint Warren was simply too large.

There was no way they could watch every corner.

With Malva’s skills, sneaking aboard had been effortless.

"Now then."

"Time to find those pieces of trash and send them to feed the fish."

Technically, she didn’t need to do this.

But she genuinely hated poachers and smugglers.

Rather than letting the League arrest them and release them after a few years—

She preferred confiscating all their Pokémon and tossing them into the ocean.

Let fate decide the rest.

Humans in the Pokémon world might possess exceptional physical abilities.

But being stranded at sea was still life-threatening.

Even if those criminals somehow survived, without Pokémon to protect them, they would suffer immensely.

Nine chances out of ten, they’d end up dead.
