Pokémon: Starting From Zero as a Legendary Pokémon
Chapter 130: The Possibility of Mega Magearna
Chapter 130: Chapter 130: The Possibility of Mega Magearna
Among all Pokémon capable of learning Aura Sphere, only a handful could do so naturally.
And among those that awakened the move on their own through leveling—the number was even smaller.
Excluding Legendary Pokémon, there were only five evolutionary lines capable of naturally awakening Aura Sphere:
Gardevoir’s line.
Lucario’s line.
Togekiss’s line.
Mienfoo’s line.
And Clawitzer’s line.
Of these five—only Lucario and Mienfoo belonged to the Fighting type.
Which made things very interesting.
Aura Sphere was clearly a Fighting-type move.
Yet among Fighting-types, only Lucario and Mienfoo could naturally awaken it.
From this alone, one could tell—
Aura power was an extremely complex ability.
Only through countless trials and tempering could one truly comprehend the essence of Aura.
"But..."
"Why is mine so weak...?"
Sora opened his eyes, deeply disappointed in his own Aura power.
How should he put it...
If forming the weakest possible Aura Sphere required 100 units of Aura—
then Sora’s Aura amounted to less than 1 unit.
Pathetically weak.
"If this were Ash’s Aura..."
"...forget 100 units, it’d probably exceed 1000."
Sora thought of the anime protagonist Ash Ketchum.
That guy was a true Aura Hero.
Ash not being able to consciously awaken Aura didn’t mean his Aura was weak.
Sora felt Ash probably belonged to the third category of "Poké-humans," not the second.
He definitely possessed the potential to awaken Aura.
The reason he never did...
was likely because he never underwent proper training.
Or maybe—the dense little goofball never even realized he had the talent in the first place.
Well... that’s Ash for you.
Hot-blooded, reckless, and adorably simple-minded.
While sighing emotionally, Sora asked Victini:
"But seriously..."
"How do I actually strengthen my Aura?"
"Vee, do you have a method?"
"Bini..."
Victini floated in the air, rubbing her chin with a thoughtful expression.
"Don’t mess around."
"Binibini~"
Victini was just teasing him.
What she actually meant was:
"As long as I replenish your Aura every day, eventually your reserves will naturally increase."
Aura power was an extremely special form of energy.
It possessed transmissibility.
In other words—
Aura could be transferred from one person to another.
Of course, transferring Aura was basically equivalent to giving away life force.
And if someone transferred all of it at once—
they would die immediately.
It was essentially the same concept as "energy transfer" in martial arts stories.
High risk.
Even greater side effects.
However—none of those drawbacks applied to Victini.
Her Aura had nothing to do with her own life force.
It was purely the result of energy conversion.
That meant Victini could replenish Sora with as much Aura as his body could endure every single day.
Even if most of it rapidly dissipated afterward—as long as one percent remained behind, it still counted as progress.
Over time, Sora’s body would gradually adapt to Aura power, allowing him to contain larger amounts of it.
Most importantly—being infused with Aura genuinely strengthened Sora’s foundation.
Or more accurately—his body and latent potential.
The main reason Sora’s Aura was so weak was because his physical constitution simply couldn’t compare to proper Poké-humans.
Even among first-category Poké-humans—he considered himself at the very bottom.
But now, things were different.
Thanks to Victini’s supplementation, Sora was essentially growing stronger every single day.
Aura strengthened the body.
A stronger body produced stronger Aura.
With Victini’s assistance, Sora could basically perform the legendary technique of "stepping on his own left foot to ascend to heaven."
Of course—there would definitely be limits to this growth.
As for becoming a cheat-tier monster like Caitlin or Sabrina...
Sora figured he should just go to sleep and dream about it.
Still—
"Even if I can’t reach that level..."
"...becoming a true Aura Guardian should still be possible."
Aura Guardians were essentially a branch of psychics, also classified as third-category Poké-humans.
As for the standard—
Sora believed it meant reaching the point where one could manually form an Aura Sphere barehanded.
At that level, one could roughly fight Pokémon around Level 20 without immediately getting folded.
"From not even being able to beat a Rattata..."
"...to being able to fight a Level 20 Raticate."
Sora looked at his own hands.
"Not bad."
"The future looks promising."
"Very promising indeed."
"Bini..."
Victini shook her head helplessly.
She genuinely couldn’t understand what was so exciting about reaching the point where one could go fifty-fifty with a Raticate.
"I feel like you’re talking trash about me, Vee."
"BINI!!"
One of Aura’s strengths was heightened perception.
Honestly—using Aura power for direct combat was kind of a waste.
The true value of Aura in Pokémon battles was absurdly high.
Just "shared understanding" and "accelerated thought processing" alone solved the issue of Trainers being unable to issue commands quickly enough.
And beyond that—
there were higher-level techniques like synchronized perception, predictive foresight, and Aura resonance.
Those were the paths a true Aura user should pursue.
"Oh right, there’s something else I need to tell you."
Victini brought up the change she sensed in Magearna during the battle.
"Magearna really possesses energy fluctuations similar to Lucario’s Mega Evolution?"
"Yes!"
Victini believed Magearna likely possessed a similar power.
"Mega Magearna..."
Sora had indeed heard rumors about it before transmigrating.
But only rumors.
As for whether it could actually happen—
he had no confidence whatsoever.
The biggest problem was the Mega Stone.
Mega Evolution required a corresponding Mega Stone.
So where exactly was Sora supposed to find a Magearna Mega Stone?
"Vee, do you have a solution?"
Victini had memorized the energy fluctuations generated during Lucario’s Mega Evolution.
However—
Mega energy differed from species to species.
It was almost like a genetic lock.
Every Pokémon possessed its own unique "password."
Victini could recharge Lucario with Mega energy and allow it to Mega Evolve even without a Mega Stone.
But for Mega Pokémon she had never encountered—
she couldn’t replicate the process.
"Don’t worry!"
"I properly memorized Magearna’s Mega Evolution energy too!"
Victini proudly puffed out her chest.
Sora immediately praised her.
"Haha, that’s my Vee for you."
Victini being absurdly reliable was nothing new at this point.
You could always trust Vee.
Additionally—
Victini had discovered something else.
"Magearna actually doesn’t need my help."
"She can perform Mega Evolution by herself."
