Chapter 996: Chapter 1213: Sapling

Chapter 996: Chapter 1213: Sapling

Give five types of Berries to five Ambipom to brew wine—and even so, the wine brewed by the five would not be the same.

Factors such as humidity, temperature, the type of fermentation starter, and various external conditions all combine to make it extremely difficult for monkey wine to ever be identical.

And now, that Champion Ambipom was gathering all the monkey wine brewed by every Aipom tribe across Aipom Hill.

Thousands upon thousands of different monkey wines, all brought together.

"It's not just a simple mix," Zeraora explained. "That guy has its own unique brewing method."

"It takes all the collected monkey wine and carries out a second fermentation."

"Today is a big day for the Aipom. That guy will also share the monkey wine it has aged for ten years with the various Ambipom tribe leaders."

"Then many Ambipom leaders would attempt to break through on this day."

Listening to Zeraora's explanation, two words inexplicably flashed in Julian's mind: Precious treasure.

The monkey wine brewed by that Champion Ambipom—didn't it sound exactly like some kind of treasure?

Gathering countless monkey wines, applying a unique brewing method, and aging it for over a decade… all of that combined—it was practically equivalent to a treasure.

Maybe not a true Ultimate treasure—after all, if it was that easy to create an Ultimate treasure, it would be too simple. And if it truly was an Ultimate treasure, the Champion Ambipom most likely wouldn't share it.

The wine it brewed was probably a High-grade treasure or a sub-Ultimate one.

After Slowking finished cleaning up the tableware, Julian decided not to walk this time in order to save time.

According to Zeraora, it would take about fifteen days to reach the center of Aipom Hill on foot.

Of course, that estimate was based on Julian's walking speed. For Zeraora, it would only take a day, and for the Aipom, about three days.

So this time, Julian rode Moltres instead.

As for investigating and cataloging the unknown Berries, Julian had already planned to let Metagross handle that later.

However, while flying toward the center of Aipom Hill, the Dowsing Machine in Julian's hand suddenly displayed a fairly large red dot.

This red dot represented a sub-Ultimate treasure.

"Moltres, head that way."

Julian immediately pointed out a new direction.

They would grab this sub-Ultimate treasure first, then head to the central area—it wasn't like the monkey wine was going anywhere.

They quickly arrived at the location of the treasure.

Following the red dot on the Dowsing Machine, Julian finally stopped in front of a sapling about half a meter tall.

[Parasol Wood (Sapling): Plant a parasol tree, and the phoenix will come. Flying-type Pokémon resting on it can gradually improve their Potential (up to Blue-grade), accelerate growth and energy absorption, and enhance their physique.]

[Note: This parasol wood is still in the sapling stage and provides no special enhancements yet. It requires 500 years to mature, or can be nourished with large amounts of natural energy to greatly shorten the time. Once fully grown, it becomes a Top-tier Ultimate treasure.]

"So it's still just a sapling…"

Julian felt a bit disappointed—it wasn't something he could immediately benefit from. But it was still acceptable.

Even as a sapling, it was already a sub-Ultimate treasure. And once matured, it would become a Top-tier Ultimate one—and not a disposable kind at that.

Disposable treasures were one-time-use items that vanished after use.

But this parasol tree was a sustainable treasure—as long as it existed, Flying-type Pokémon resting on it would continuously gain its benefits.

The only downside was the time required—500 years to fully mature.

However, it could be accelerated by infusing it with natural energy.

And natural energy… wasn't that Celebi's specialty? He could just have Celebi come and nurture it from time to time.

"This little sapling is a sub-Ultimate treasure? It doesn't look special at all."

Celebi, perched on Julian's head, looked at the sapling from every angle but couldn't see anything unusual about it. If anything, this one actually looked a bit malnourished.

"Metagross, set up a Light Screen barrier here to protect it. When we leave, we'll come back and take it with us," Julian said.

Because the sapling was a living organism, it couldn't be stored in the system space or inside Gengar's belly—doing so would kill it.

So he had to leave it here for now and retrieve it later.

But despite its fragile appearance, the sapling shouldn't be underestimated—its hardness was comparable to steel. If you kicked it, it wouldn't break—your toes would.

Metagross set up a barrier around the sapling.

Julian didn't mention his plan of making Celebi act as its gardener after they left—if he said it now, Celebi would definitely refuse.

He would just have to use money to tempt it—and there were plenty of other ways to handle Celebi, so Julian wasn't in a hurry.

Around the sapling, there were also several Berry trees. Naturally, Berries that could grow beside a Parasol Tree sapling were somewhat extraordinary—these Berries all fell into the treasure category as well.

One of the Berry trees already had Berry on it.

[Terra Berry: Long-term consumption increases the power of Ground-type moves by 10%.]

[Note: Requires consumption for over three years.]

Julian had Metagross protect these Berry trees with the barrier as well, planning to dig them all up and take them along when they left.

He picked a Terra Berry. This item would only serve as a snack for Steelix and Garchomp—it wouldn't have any real effect on them at their level.

But for an ordinary Trainer, this single Berry was something they'd fight tooth and nail over.

After finishing all that, Julian mounted Moltres and set off once more toward the central area of Aipom Hill.

Since it was the once-in-a-decade grand event, all the Aipom and Ambipom across the entire mountain were currently migrating toward the central area.

From above, he could see them leaping continuously between the Berry trees, each one clutching a sealed jar in its hands. Occasionally, some would accidentally collide, shattering a jar and immediately starting a brawl right then and there.

Julian glanced at the Dowsing Machine.

The ten red dots representing treasures… were all moving.

Red dots on the move?

That meant those dots were the jars of Monkey Wine carried by certain Aipom and Ambipom.

The wine in their hands already qualified as treasure. Since the Dowsing Machine could only display ten red dots at a time, there were undoubtedly more than just these ten jars that fell into the treasure category.

This only heightened Julian's anticipation for what the Champion Ambipom in the central area was brewing. He was genuinely curious about just what rank of treasure that wine would belong to.

With so many treasure-grade monkey wines being gathered and blended together, the resulting brew couldn't possibly be anything ordinary.
