Chapter 917: Chapter 1134: Psychic-Type
Chapter 917: Chapter 1134: Psychic-Type
Deoxys was completely dumbfounded, still on the ground, it looked at its companion as if asking: 'If this human had this kind of ability, why didn't you tell me earlier?'
'If you had told me, I wouldn't have been so stubborn.'
The Deoxys beside Julian indicated that it wasn't that it didn't want to say—it was that Julian hadn't allowed it to.
"Hey, hey, hey—what are you doing? It's not even the New Year yet. Don't give me such a big bow; I can't handle it."
Julian recalled the Twin Dragons, then looked at the kneeling Deoxys with an exaggerated expression, patting his pockets as if trying to find a red envelope.
Deoxys's face flushed slightly as it stood up from the ground and asked in disbelief, "How are you this strong?"
At first, it had thought Julian had used it as a threat to force its companion into becoming his Pokémon.
Now it seemed that wasn't the case at all.
Although the Black and White Dragons had already been recalled, the pressure they released was still shaking its nerves.
Compared to them, its companion—even as a First-class Legendary—was far inferior.
"Come on, Jade, you tell it why your brother is so strong."
Julian felt that if he said it himself, the other party might think he was bragging, so he let Jade do the talking.
Hearing that, Jade lifted her head high and said with immense pride:
"Standing before you is the youngest Champion of Drakoria, the strongest person in the world, and the dream of nine hundred million girls in Drakoria!"
"The trainer of Zekrom and Reshiram, the one favored by the Sea God Kyogre, the person who has petted the mythical Pokémon Mew, and the one who once commanded the Forbidden-class Mewtwo to heavily injure the God of Death, Yveltal!"
"And most importantly—he is the brother of the future number one beauty in the universe, Jade Walker!"
"Julian Walker—also known as Champion Walker, King Julian, and the Pillar of Drakoria!"
Listening to Jade, Julian nodded repeatedly.
As expected of his little sister—she really knew how to talk. She would definitely become someone remarkable in the future.
"And the reason he's so powerful is—"
At this point, Jade deliberately drew out her words.
Both the Deoxys immediately perked up their ears. Even Julian's own Deoxys didn't know why he was so powerful, since it had only been with him for a short while.
How exactly had he managed to capture the Black and White Dragons?
"Is—"
Deoxys: "Is what?"
"Is because he goes to bed early, wakes up early, and drinks a glass of Moomoo Milk every morning!"
Deoxys: (⊙…⊙)
Julian: (⊙_⊙)?
"Oi, little brat, are you messing with me?"
Deoxys looked at Jade with a face full of black lines. What kind of nonsense was that last sentence? Did she take it for an idiot?
"No, I'm not! That's what Love told me!"
Jade looked utterly innocent.
If it was Love, it really might have said something like that.
Julian actually found himself agreeing with it in his heart.
"Alright, in time you'll understand why I'm so strong. For now, Deoxys, are you going to keep your promise or go back on your word?"
Julian looked at Deoxys. Before the battle, they had agreed that if Julian lost, the previous arrangement would be void. But if he won, Deoxys would faithfully serve as Jade's guardian Pokémon.
"I, Deoxys, keep my word."
Deoxys nodded. It wasn't one to break promises.
Moreover, it sensed a pleasant aura from Jade. Although it appeared cold and distant toward her, that was merely a facade it deliberately maintained.
"Jade."
Julian signaled to Jade.
Jade nodded and walked over to Deoxys, taking out a Poké Ball.
Deoxys gazed down at Jade, and Jade looked up at it.
After a few seconds, Deoxys gently tapped the Poké Ball and transformed into a streak of red light, drawn inside.
"Yay! I caught Deoxys!"
Jade jumped happily and struck a pose.
Julian's face darkened. Somehow he felt like Jade was dissing him.
"Don't celebrate too early. Deoxys is only your guardian Pokémon. Right now you can't command it at all. Only when your life is in danger will it protect you."
Guardian Pokémon were used by families to protect their younger members who had just become trainers, preventing talented heirs from dying prematurely in dangerous situations.
In reality, if the bond with the guardian Pokémon became deep enough, it could still be commanded.
However, most family elders would instruct the guardian Pokémon that unless the younger member faced real life-threatening danger, they were not allowed to intervene, nor were they allowed to obey the youngster's commands.
Being a trainer was a profession that required growth through danger.
If someone couldn't overcome certain dangers themselves, then this path simply wasn't suitable for them.
Given Julian's current strength, anyone who held hostility toward him had no way at all to deal with him.
The only potential weakness was Julian's family.
And among them, his mother Tina and his younger sister Jade were relatively easier targets.
Because of that, the protection around them had always been extremely tight.
Now that Jade had Deoxys protecting her, her safety had practically been maximized.
After all, Psychic-types were the most suitable to serve as guardian Pokémon.
As for Tina, two of the three captains of the Steel Guard were secretly protecting her, so there was basically nothing to worry about.
"Mm, I know."
Jade held the Poké Ball containing Deoxys, her little face full of excitement and affection.
"Deoxys, in the future I'm going to become a Psychic-type trainer. That way, we'll be even more compatible."
'A Psychic-type trainer?'
Julian immediately felt something was off and quickly interjected, "Jade, it should be a Steel-type trainer. Steel-type!"
He even emphasized the last two words.
"No, I want to become a Psychic-type trainer."
Jade shook her head.
"What's so good about Psychic-types? They're all glass cannons. Can they even take a punch from Lucario?"
"Look at brother's Metagross—isn't it cool? Isn't Aggron powerful? Even Steelix is adorably silly!"
In Julian's opinion, among the eighteen Pokémon Types, Steel-types were the strongest overall.
Although Dragon-types dealt the most damage, they were too severely countered by Fairy-types.
At the same level, a Fairy-type fighting a Dragon-type was like a parent disciplining a child.
But Steel-types were different.
No type had a 4x advantage against them, and only three types had a 2x advantage, and Poison-types couldn't even damage them.
Furthermore, most Types could only deal half damage to Steel-types.
So in terms of overall comprehensive strength, Steel-types were absolutely unmatched.
"Brother, Metagross also has the Psychic-typing," Jade pointed out.
"But its primary typing is Steel."
Julian wasn't going to be persuaded so easily. He crouched down and spoke earnestly to Jade.
"Jade, even if you don't choose Steel-types, you could choose Dragons. Nobody plays Psychic-types."
Deoxys: 'If you weren't my trainer and if you didn't have the Black and White Dragons, just for that sentence, I'd already be throwing hands.'
"Of course, my Deoxys is an exception."
"No, I will definitely become a Psychic-type trainer."
"I must restore the glory of Psychic types—it's my duty!"
Julian: 'That line sounds oddly familiar?'
