Chapter 888: Chapter 1105: Diligent Pokémon

Three hundred bucks can't buy you love, but they can get a beauty to serve you attentively for eighty minutes — XXX Foot Spa.

Looking at Celebi's latest update, it had posted the slogan of a certain foot spa.

Julian: 'That actually makes a lot of sense.'

He didn't think it was unreasonable at all—on the contrary, he felt it was practically a profound truth.

He even gave it a like.

He didn't bother caring about Celebi going to a foot spa anymore either. After all, the money was in its hands, and Julian had no control over how it was spent. He was actually more curious about how Celebi and Jirachi would spend their few thousands.

After lunch, Julian walked to the backyard.

The sun was just right at the moment, and his Pokémon were all lazily basking in the sunlight.

Kartana swooshed and flew right in front of him.

"I want to become a Champion too."

Lucario had become a Champion. Like Kartana, it was one of the most diligent Pokémon in Julian's entire team.

Even now that it had become a Champion, Lucario was still sitting on the ground meditating, training its Aura.

Kartana, who had always been pursuing the pinnacle of strength, naturally couldn't resist the temptation of becoming a Champion.

It wasn't impossible to become one through its own efforts alone. But that would take at least three or four years.

It wanted to be like Lucario and become a Champion just by sleeping.

Bam!

Right after Kartana finished speaking, its body was sent flying by Arcainine's tackle.

"Master, the seventh Champion will be me, right?"

Arcainine's big canine face leaned in, looking at Julian with hopeful anticipation.

Soon Steelix, Milotic, Melmetal, and the other main team Pokémon also gathered around Julian, all expressing that they wanted to become the seventh Champion.

Julian was a bit bewildered by this scene.

He could understand Kartana having such ambition, but why did all of you suddenly become so motivated too? Especially Steelix, who usually preferred to laze around and increase its strength by eating Pokéblocks.

What had come over them all of a sudden?

Still, his Pokémon being motivated was a good thing. Though he wasn't sure what was going on behind the scenes, Julian was quite pleased.

"The next Champion depends on fate. How about this: whoever among you works the hardest during this period, if a suitable opportunity arises, I'll consider you first."

Julian painted a rosy picture for his Pokémon.

He had explored two regions in the Primal Secret Realm and obtained two World-class Treasures. That meant the remaining three regions should also hold World-class Treasures.

As long as his luck wasn't too terrible, at least one of those three treasures would have a Type compatible with his main team.

It was his first time painting such a rosy picture for his Pokémon, and Julian wasn't very skilled at it yet; his words still had loopholes. But his Pokémon weren't particularly smart either.

At the very least, they didn't question Julian's words and completely believed him.

Then they dispersed and started their training.

Watching this scene, Julian walked over to Metagross curiously and asked, "What's going on today? Did they eat the wrong food or something?"

"Meta~"

Metagross: "Nine is the number of extremes. My calculations showed that you can have at most nine Champion-level Pokémon, so I told them that."

'So you're the one behind this.'

Julian looked at Metagross, quite surprised, and said, "Your supercomputer brain can even calculate something like this?"

"I recently self-studied the ancient texts, so I did some calculations."

Rubbing his chin, Julian looked at Metagross and said, "The wisdom of our ancestors is immense. You should continue to study it; you definitely haven't fully grasped it yet."

What a joke. How could he only be able to have nine Champion-level Pokémon? He was a man with a cheat.

You could look down on him, but you couldn't look down on the System.

System: 'Well said.'

But—

"Not bad, though. This has motivated them, hasn't it?"

Watching his Pokémon training, Julian felt quite gratified inside. It seemed they did have ambition after all; they all wanted to become Champions themselves.

Of course, the most ambitious among them was definitely Kartana. The other main team's ambition was only temporary.

Kartana, however, had always been extremely driven.

Julian also hoped the next World-class Treasure would be suitable for Kartana. Otherwise, facing Kartana's disappointed look later on, just thinking about it gave him a headache.

He checked the price of World-class Treasures in the System Shop—hmm—he could actually afford one suitable for Kartana, but his points would go back to square one, hitting zero instantly.

So it was better to save up for now. At the very least, he needed to keep some points in reserve for critical moments in the future.

The importance of points was paramount. With enough points, even Arceus's Plates could be bought.

The price for a single Plate was a mere one hundred million points.

It would probably take him two or three hundred years to save up that many points.

The system shop was really something, displaying items he craved but could never afford.

Though one Plate could grant immunity to attacks of its corresponding Type. That was the key to Arceus's invincibility. With all eighteen Plates, who in the world could be its opponent?

Its title as the Original One was closely tied to the Plates.

Julian lay on Dragonite's big belly, idly browsing the system shop, looking for anything cheap and suitable for his current stage of development.

In other words, hunting for bargains.

But as it turned out, bargains didn't exist, at least not in the System Shop.

Every item had a clear price tag.

The cheap ones Julian didn't want, and the expensive ones he was reluctant to buy. So it was a bit awkward.

Feeling a little annoyed, he simply closed the System Shop interface.

"Dragonite, has your belly gotten bigger again?"

Dragonite nodded.

Since becoming a Champion, its strength had increased rapidly, and its belly had grown a size larger too.

With a belly like this, if it were placed among a group of Dragonite, it would definitely captivate a whole crowd of female Dragonites.

This time, Julian didn't tell Dragonite to lose weight. He naturally knew that the bigger a Dragonite's belly, the greater the amount of Dragon-type energy it typically contained.

His previous comments were just teasing.

A slim Dragonite was either sick or weak; a Dragonite with a big belly was the real powerhouse among its kind.

"Gen~"

Gengar gently poked Julian.

"What?" Julian asked.

"Gen~"

Gengar pointed at Arcainine, who was sleeping.

Julian was almost amused by the sight: "It just said it would train hard, and only a few minutes have passed, and it's already asleep?"

Besides Arcainine, Steelix was also lying on the ground, fast asleep.

Talk about a three-minute passion.

'Damn, at least wait until I leave before you guys fall asleep.'

Julian turned to Gengar, "Go, give them some sweet dreams."

When he said "sweet dreams," he deliberately emphasized the words.

Gengar understood, grinning mischievously, and sank into the shadows beneath Arcanine and Steelix.

Before long, Gengar returned.

Ten minutes later, Julian heard Arcainine's miserable howls.

"Arf Arf Arf!"

Arcainine: "Master, I don't want to be neutered! Don't neuter me!"

The next second, Steelix shot up like a rocket, then looked at Aggron in terror: "You actually treated me like a snack and swallowed me whole?!"

Aggron: [? _ ? ?]
