Chapter 1017: Chapter 1234: Champion

Chapter 1017: Chapter 1234: Champion

This time, Slowking prepared an especially lavish feast—after all, two teammates were about to part ways for a while.

And it turned out that Arcanine was actually quite popular in the team. It got along especially well with Aggron and Tyranitar—the two big bruisers.

In fact, when Tyranitar heard Arcanine was staying here, it got so emotional that it broke through from level 89 to level 90 on the spot.

Julian: 'Are you happy it's leaving, or sad?'

The next day, Julian brought Arcanine and Moltres back to the Terraflux Magma in the Molten Arena. Seeing the reluctant gazes of the two Pokémon, Julian naturally felt it too.

After all, this was the first time he was separating from his own Pokémon, even if only temporarily.

"Arf~"

Arcanine: "Master, when you enter the Primal secret realm again, you have to come and visit me and this Stupid bird."

Arcanine's tongue gently licked Julian's face. Because of the parting, the dog was clearly in low spirits, its tail no longer wagging.

For a split second, Julian even considered skipping the Terraflux Magma training altogether.

"Don't worry, I'll come and visit you soon," he reassured both Arcanine and Moltres.

After exiting the Primal Secret Realm, once the secret realm energy within his body dissipated, Julian would definitely enter again. But by his calculation, neither Arcanine nor Moltres would have reached their time limit for soaking in the Terraflux Magma by then.

"Take care of them, and don't bully them."

Julian said to the golden Arcanine beside him.

If there was one thing in this region that could pose a threat to Arcanine and Moltres, it was only this golden Arcanine.

"Relax. One dumb dog, one stupid bird—I wouldn't stoop to bullying them," the golden Arcanine said with a hint of disdain.

For once, Julian's Arcanine and Moltres didn't retort. Having witnessed this guy's strength firsthand, they had become considerably more well-behaved.

Of course, the main reason was that once Julian left, the two of them would be living with this Arcanine for a while.

With no one to back them up, they had no choice but to behave. Otherwise, if they kept talking back now, who knew what kind of "revenge" they'd face after Julian was gone?

Julian's Arcanine knew its own personality—it could be petty. And since they were both Arcanine, even if their Typings differed, it figured the other one probably wasn't any more broad-minded either.

Moltres: 'Same here.'

So for now, neither Arcanine nor Moltres dared to run their mouths and offend the golden Arcanine.

To make sure that Arcanine and Moltres wouldn't be bullied after he left, Julian gave the golden Arcanine plenty of Pokéblocks and even a few more chew toys.

He also promised that once they finished soaking in the Terraflux Magma, he'd bring it even more good stuff.

Even though the golden Arcanine had said it wouldn't bully them, Julian still wasn't entirely reassured.

Hopefully… it won't bully them too much.

Parting was always bittersweet. Under the reluctant gazes of Arcanine and Moltres, Julian rode off on Salamence, leaving the Molten Arena behind.

As they flew away from the Molten Arena, they passed by the volcanic crater and happened to spot the Arcanine pack from before.

With his sharp eyesight, Julian immediately spotted the little Growlithe he had treated before.

"That little guy has grown quite a bit," Julian said with a smile.

"Meta~"

Metagross: "It's been less than half a day since you parted with Arcanine, and you're already thinking of catching another dog?"

Its tone was full of disdain and sarcasm.

Even Salamence turned its head to glance at Julian.

Celebi, perched on his head, immediately shouted, "Blockhead, don't even think about it! If you do, you'll never win another ranked match—and if you lose, you'll drag me down too!"

Jirachi, nestled in his arms, quickly added, "Yeah, Julian, that little dog doesn't look trustworthy at all. Don't fall for it!"

Listening to his Pokémon chiming in one after another, the underlying message was clear: 'You're unreliable—you just parted ways and already want a new one.'

"I was just saying, don't read too much into it."

Julian felt wronged. It seemed the misunderstanding about him was as solid as ancient ice—impossible to melt.

"Salamence, find an open space."

Though unsure what Julian planned to do, Salamence still landed in a clearing.

After landing, Julian released Tyranitar.

"Here."

He took out his last Rare Candy.

This was something Arcanine had been yearning for with all its heart, but Julian had been saving it for Tyranitar, so he'd never given it to Arcanine.

The previous night, whether out of excitement or sadness at Arcanine leaving, Tyranitar had broken through from level 89 to level 90—reaching the peak of Pseudo-Champion tier.

And now—

It was finally time to use the Rare Candy to push it even further.

After swallowing the Rare Candy, Tyranitar's aura began to surge dramatically. As it broke past its limits, its presence swept outward like a raging storm.

"Tar!"

Feeling itself step into the Champion tier, Tyranitar let out a powerful, exhilarated roar that echoed across the land.

"Congratulations, Tyranitar."

Julian patted its thick leg. As a Totem-class Pokémon, Tyranitar now stood nearly as tall as Aggron—around several meters high. Compared to it, Julian looked quite small.

Tyranitar lowered its head and gently lifted Julian onto it. A wave of affection and gratitude flowed into Julian's mind through aura.

"Now we can go back to the Holm of Trials and bring your wife home," Julian said with a grin.

This was exactly why he had saved the Rare Candy—to help Tyranitar break through to the Champion level quickly so it could get together with that female Tyranitar.

"Ty…"

Tyranitar first looked confused, then quickly nodded.

"You big oaf, you forgot again, didn't you?"

Julian smacked its head—but ended up hurting his own hand instead. Its armor was just too hard.

"Meta~"

Metagross also returned. Earlier, Julian had sent it off to dig up Berry Trees and collect other valuable Berries.

After all, they were about to leave the secret realm.
