Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 1213: Ghost Companions_2

  • Next Chapter

When the soul returned to the body, a tear fell from the corner of the Paranormal Fan’s eye.

[You’re increasingly eager to embark on a journey, but you don’t know how to convince your parents who are more concerned about your health.]

Gastly seemed to see her tears, and a sorrowful expression appeared on its face, but it was just a small Pokémon, what could it possibly do?

The narrator expressed Gastly’s helplessness from a different perspective.

Baimu pressed down on the sneaky Gengar, using his chin and upper body to lean on its head, continuing to watch the simulator.

Fortunately.

Things eventually took a turn for the better.

The screen flickered between light and dark, as the Paranormal Fan changed from a sleeping posture to lying on a hospital bed, focused intently on watching a video on her phone.

A playful commotion suddenly came from outside the ward’s door.

[You heard that Fortree Gym Leader Melissa had specially come to the hospital to visit the children here, and is preparing for a grand performance. Excited, you immediately sought out a nurse, wanting to participate.]

The narrator concluded.

The nurse entered the ward, accompanying the Paranormal Fan into the hallway, where she could see from a distance the violet-haired, peculiarly coiffed, Melissa.

Melissa was interacting with some of the more lively children.

Suddenly.

An exclamation mark appeared above her head as she approached the Paranormal Fan.

[Nervously, you watched as Melissa gradually approached, unsure of how to communicate with her. In your hurry, you decided to introduce yourself first.]

Before the Paranormal Fan could open her mouth, a cloud of Black Mist soared out from behind Melissa.

It was Gastly.

[You were extremely surprised to see Gastly appear during the day, but even more surprising was that Melissa seemed to know you went out to play with Gastly every night.]

[You felt very flustered, but Melissa didn’t mention anything about it to your parents. She whispered something to you.]

An exclamation mark appeared above the Paranormal Fan’s head, followed by an excited expression.

Then.

Melissa, with reluctance, turned back to wave goodbye to Gastly who was unwilling to leave the Paranormal Fan.

“Was it Gastly who called Melissa here?”

Baimu realized this and couldn’t help but feel touched; Pokémon are always willing to strive for the humans they care about, and when humans make the same effort for Pokémon, an unbreakable bond is born.

The scene shifted to nighttime.

Lying in bed, the Paranormal Fan gazed out the window as usual, but this time, not only Gastly arrived, but also Melissa riding on the Drifblim.

It’s hard to imagine a Gym Leader sneaking out in the middle of the night to visit a young girl.

But she did.

[You hurriedly got out of bed to open the window for Melissa, but even this little activity left you drenched in sweat, and your face was flushed. You regretted your poor health condition.]

From the narration, it was clear the Paranormal Fan’s mental health was also worrisome.

But as Gastly pounced on her, she immediately became happy again, not getting angry even when Gastly knocked her onto the bed, as they playfully rolled together.

Melissa did not disturb them, simply watching silently from the side.

As Baimu thought.

Fortree Gym Leader was persuaded by the tirelessly pleading Gastly, coming especially to help the Paranormal Fan.

[You learned that not everyone’s soul can leave the body as easily as yours. Under normal circumstances, it usually requires a near-death state.]

[You heard Melissa say that you might have a special constitution, attracting Ghost-type Pokémon, with your soul easily leaving your body, and it’s highly possible that your fragile health is caused by this.]

A low pressure surrounded the Paranormal Fan.

The simulator provided special effects with large shadows, giving the scene a somewhat eerie appearance.

But the oppressive atmosphere lasted only a moment as the ever-concerned Gastly licked her twice, causing the Paranormal Fan, unable to bear the tickling, to burst into laughter.

[You looked angrily at Gastly, but suddenly realized that without this constitution, you might never have met it or had the chance to play and create such wonderful memories with it.]

[Your mood gradually calmed, and you sincerely asked Melissa for a solution.]

What a mindset, girl!

Baimu didn’t expect her to reconcile with herself so easily; Gastly’s companionship indeed played a significant role.

This made Baimu recall a famous phrase from a past life—

‘Her world was in tatters, but Gastly was there helping to mend it.’

Melissa clearly also appreciated the shift in the Paranormal Fan’s mindset.

[You heard Melissa say that for the next two months, you must no longer allow your soul to leave the body and have to separate temporarily from Gastly. Regular medication and exercise were needed to reach a state where you could walk without assistance.]

Two months.

In the scene, an ellipsis appeared above the Paranormal Fan’s head. For her, who considered midnight frolicking the only ray of light in her life, going two whole months without seeing Gastly or playing in the interaction square seemed unbearable.

[You felt you couldn’t accept it, but when you looked at Gastly and saw its reluctant yet encouraging gaze, you knew that Gastly also didn’t want to part with you but hoped more for your healthiness.]

[You agreed.]

Melissa left with Gastly.

The Paranormal Fan thus became “alone,” only being able to face nurses and doctors each day, with only her parents’ visits bringing her some warmth.

During long nights, the sleepless Paranormal Fan curled up in her blanket, crying, wishing to see Gastly again.

Baimu let out a sigh; although there was no background music, the series of images was enough to convey the full range of emotions.

Even if it was only pixel art, it could still evoke empathy.

In the screen.

Exhausted from crying, the Paranormal Fan began reminiscing about the beautiful moments with Gastly.

[Your mind echoed with the laughter shared with Gastly, gradually understanding that separation was for a better reunion. You started exercising, making your primary care doctor and nurses very pleased.]

Pokémon indeed is the primary source of encouragement for people.

Images flashed rapidly.

Each was a testament to the Paranormal Fan’s efforts.

From being able to get out of bed and walk during the day to managing a small jog, frequent soul separation had indeed inflicted some damage on her physical body, and her mindset impacted her body as well.

Finally.

The two months passed.

[Your recovery speed astonished the doctor, who approved your request to recuperate at home with occasional follow-ups. Your parents were also overjoyed.]

The Paranormal Fan eagerly left the hospital, pleading with her parents to take her to Fortree Gym.

Unable to resist, her parents agreed.

[You excitedly ran towards the Gym, with two months of longing making you eager to see Gastly. But when you found Melissa to inquire about Gastly’s whereabouts, what appeared before you was a nervous and timid Haunter.]

The Paranormal Fan stood motionless at the scene.

Gastly had evolved.

[You heard from Melissa that while you trained your body, Gastly also worked hard for your reunion. It secretly drove away many Ghost-type Pokémon attracted by your constitution and often watched over you from a distance.]

Nothing touches the heart more than mutual striving.

As the Paranormal Fan tearfully hugged Haunter, Baimu involuntarily pinched Gengar’s ears.

[You discovered that you possess an overly strong soul that doesn’t align well with your body, causing your body to gradually weaken, thus you must train your willpower, letting your body and will grow until they perfectly blend with your soul.]

[The efforts of these past two months become the stepping stone to your next journey. Melissa also invited you to become a Gym Trainer, to hone your skills at the Gym until you’re ready to set out on your travels.]

Gym Leader…

Gym Leader!

Baimu couldn’t help but marvel that the Gym Leaders of the mainstream regions all had hearts of gold. Be it through simulations he knew of or his own experiences, most Gym Leaders were incredibly selfless and generous.

The Ore Region should have such leading Trainer figures too!

In the image.

With her parents’ consent, the Paranormal Fan officially embarked on the Trainer’s path as a Gym Trainer.

Her first Pokémon—

[You received Haunter; this is your first Ghost Companion.]

Though her journey had yet to officially begin, the start of this story already made Baimu feel very pleased.
