Chapter 1203 -706: Yip Man Large Egg_2

After all, a lot of the time Evasion doesn’t need big movements.

And after its continuous ferocious swipes failed, the Sandslash’s claw-swinging speed began to slow. It stopped holding its breath, suddenly rolled backward and once more turned into a spiked ball, pulling away from the Blissey.

“Digging!”

Zhengyi gave up on fighting on the surface.

Sandslash was certainly good at close combat, but it was obvious Blissey wasn’t a good target for brawling. If it got controlled, that’d be trouble.

“Sandslash!”

Responding, the Sandslash shoveled up a huge amount of sand and in the blink of an eye sank underground.

What surprised him was that Baimu, seeing this, directly pulled out a Pokeball and swapped out his Blissey, even though the situation was clearly in its favor.

Was that necessary?

Blissey could obviously keep fighting!

Zhengyi didn’t quite get it, but when he saw the new Pokémon taking the field, his heart suddenly tightened.

“Porygon!”

Porygon II flew out of the cellphone Baimu raised, entered the field, and hovered above the ground, swaying its oval-shaped legs.

The glow of a stat boost flared.

The Download Trait increased its Special Attack.

The onlookers all cast curious gazes. It was said this Pokémon was extremely, extremely rare in the outside world, a man-made Pokémon.

In the finals of the Hoenn Alliance tournament, Baimu had used it to toy with two of his opponent’s Pokémon in the palm of his hand, truly stealing the show.

What made Zhengyi nervous was that the information online about Porygon II’s data was really scarce. Its creator, Dr. Akihabara, had once frequently appeared on TV programs introducing its devolved form, Porygon, yet he’d revealed very little about its combat traits.

Like what Techniques it could learn, its exact Traits, and so on—everything was very vague.

Porygon II’s performance in the finals?

Embarrassing as it was to admit, there were a lot of parts Zhengyi just didn’t understand. He couldn’t figure out how Porygon II somehow used Substitute without anyone noticing to block the opponent’s offense.

In short, this was a very hard Pokémon to deal with—

Just hit it first and talk later!

Bang!

The Sandslash, spinning at high speed like a drill, suddenly burst up through the ground beneath Porygon II, its sharp, gleaming twin claws pressed together into a silver-white spear tip that rammed harshly into its belly, driving it up toward the sky!

However.

Its assault failed to produce any effective result.

At some unknown moment, Porygon II had emitted a dazzling white light all around its body. When the light dimmed, its original red-blue pattern had inexplicably become blue sky and white clouds.

And its bare little head had gained a pair of objects resembling small wings.

No doubt about it.

Porygon II was now Flying Type.

It lowered its head to look at the Sandslash, which had stopped spinning and was falling weightlessly. Under the Sandslash’s stunned gaze, it twisted its oval tail.

“Frozen Beam!”

“High-speed Spin!”

Baimu’s calm command and Zhengyi’s urgent shout formed a stark contrast.

Ice-blue lightning suddenly dropped straight down, striking the Sandslash at the exact moment it curled up into a brown spiked ball and hit the ground. Just as it was about to spin, rapidly forming semi-transparent ice crystals coated it—

Only for a brief instant.

Though getting hit by a Technique that exploited Attribute weaknesses hurt like hell, even with the spikes stripped off its back the Sandslash still had a thick fusion of rock and keratin there. Add in its strong pain tolerance, and it quickly managed to shake the ice off, shooting off like an oversized soccer ball.

Screeeech—

A huge cloud of dust billowed up behind it, shrouding the Sandstorm that had been dying down.

Baimu was a bit surprised.

Sandslash, like most Pokémon with the Ground Attribute, had Physical Resistance far surpassing its Special Defense—in other words, its Special Defense was pathetically low.

Porygon II’s Special Attack output was admittedly not on the level of Dragapult or Hydreigon, but with its Download Trait triggered it shouldn’t be…

He could only assume this particular Sandslash was special.

“Magic Space.”

He was certain Zhengyi wouldn’t give up on activating Sandslash’s Sand-Sifting Trait, so he preemptively gave the order.

Sure enough.

“Use Sandstorm!”

Looking at the panting Sandslash that had come back to his side, Zhengyi paid particular attention to the ice crystals clinging to its back, then glanced at the massively transformed Flying Type Porygon II.

Texture 2—what a cheating Technique.

The Ground Techniques Sandslash specialized in had just been rendered “ineffective.”

“Sandslash!”

It tilted its head back and let out a loud cry.

Boom!

Rolling sand and wind surged up from beneath the Sandslash, making the Sandstorm that had nearly faded thick and dense once more.

Porygon II landed slowly, blue light spreading from its body to the edges of the field.

The spectators instinctively retreated a few steps, then saw a semi-transparent blue Light Wall rise from the ground. After reaching a certain height it froze in place, forming a huge pale-blue rectangular prism that covered the entire arena.

“What’s that?”

“Magic Space! A Psychic Attribute Technique that makes slow Pokémon act fast!”

“Still don’t get it…”

The crowd buzzed noisily.

Zhengyi’s expression turned slightly unpleasant when he saw this strange scene.

Too clever for his own good?

No.

He had actually considered this.

“Come back, Sandslash!” He recalled Sandslash into its Pokeball.

He had chosen it to quickly take down Blissey using the Sand-Sifting Trait. Who could have known the opponent’s response would be that over the top.

If only Splitting Tiles had connected, how great that would’ve been.

Zhengyi regretfully sent out his third Pokémon.

“Laoh!”

Gliscor, a creature like a fusion of scorpion and bat, appeared. Riding the wind of the Sandstorm, it glided up high, hiding in the blowing sand as it looked down at Porygon II below, its bright, wide eyes filled with keen interest.

The wind and sand buffeted Porygon II’s seemingly somewhat Frillish body, gradually inflicting extremely subtle, infiltrating damage—small in each instance, but enough to crush a Pokémon once it accumulated.

It ignored that, calmly staring through the grit up at its new opponent, whose outline was slightly blurry.

Sand Concealment Trait.

What a shame that Frozen Beam just now hadn’t finished Sandslash. If it had used Texture to become Ice Attribute, there might have been a sliver of a chance.

However, the experience it’d gained training aboard the Fury with Xiang Yuanzhi’s Pokémon had made it more cautious than before. Flygon and Shelgon had both told it: if the Trainer hasn’t given a command, don’t bet on things you’re not sure of.

So it had played it by the book, using Texture 2 to become Flying Attribute, blocking the opponent’s Digging and any potential Earth Split.

Even though Sandslash’s Energy Level, with high probability, wouldn’t surpass its own.

“Electromagnetic Levitation!”

The Trainer’s command came.

A bright arc of Electric Light flashed; Porygon II successfully gained a far freer range of movement. It raised its tail and aimed at the enemy, suddenly noticing dozens of identical dark shadows had appeared in the sky.

They flitted around wildly in the Sandstorm; not fast, but enough to dazzle the eyes.

Baimu: “Same trick again…”

Sand Concealment Tactics again—only Gliscor, as a Flying unit, seemed to wield them at a higher level than Cacturne.

At the very least, Cacturne couldn’t fly about in midair to confuse the line of sight.

Now even if Blissey returned to the field, it might not be able to locate its true body at the first moment.

Lock-On?

It didn’t possess any special effect that pierced the real body. Back then, Alice’s Garchomp had simply used Sand Concealment to hide its figure——

Huh?

Could it be that this guy had deliberately chosen a Sand Concealment Gliscor specifically to counter it.

Otherwise, there’s no reason to bring out a Pokémon that’s four times weak to Ice Attribute right after seeing Frozen Beam.

Baimu recalled how Telekinesis had been broken by Cacturne, and suddenly realized that Zhengyi had very likely watched the final match footage and specifically designed tactics targeting the various abilities Porygon II had exposed.

Shadow Clone plus Sand Concealment…

Trying to take down Porygon II with just this trick would be underestimating a super artificial intelligence far too much.

“Close in and use Discharging!”

He gave the order, and the onlookers around him were shocked when they heard it.

Why use Electric Techniques!?

Gliscor is a Ground Attribute and Flying Attribute Pokémon; Electric Techniques don’t work on it! Did he suddenly lose his mind?

“Pali!”

Porygon II flew into the sky. The Gliscors, seeing their prey coming straight to them, lunged at it from all directions, dazzling Electric Light flickering between their sharp fangs!

“Thunder Fang!”

Zhengyi’s voice was quite muffled amid the Sandstorm.

But the very next moment.

Porygon II suddenly unleashed a far more terrifying, wide-area thunder strike than Thunder Fang. Surging currents exploded outward with it at the center, forming a vast tide of Thunder that flooded the sky, swallowing all the Gliscors around!

And then.

The spectators squeezed their eyes shut and turned their heads aside, but when they looked up again, the sea of lightning had vanished. Along with it, all the countless Gliscor phantoms and sand grains were gone.

Gliscor’s true body was clamped viciously onto Porygon II, its Thunder pouring entirely into Porygon II’s body.

“Pali.”

Porygon II ignored the pain in its body, its gaze razor-sharp on Gliscor.
