Chapter 1100: Chapter 658: My Dragon Heart (Part 3)
In the next instant.
It was shoved skyward by a tremendous force, driven straight into those Meteor Light Arrows it had released!
Too fast.
There was simply no time to dodge!
Bang!
Before Hydreigon could even struggle, the first Meteor Light Arrow that struck it exploded with a roar, the swiftly-formed Light Wall weakening the blast before shattering and vanishing.
But under Flygon’s upward push, the dazed Hydreigon was forced to meet the second one.
Bang!
The third.
Bang!
Three masses of deep violet fire burst open in succession, the mark of Hydreigon’s unique triple Meteor Shower. Only after being bombarded three times in a row did it finally manage to break free of the Binding.
When it fought off the dizziness in its head and turned to look down, Flygon was already back on the ground, wind and sand swirling around it as it slightly opened its mouth and raised its head to stare up.
A terrifying Dragon Flame was gathering in the opponent’s jaws, ready to spew forth at any moment.
Got hit...
Head hanging low, Hydreigon realized that its already scant stamina was now a candle in the wind. One more hit, and it would inevitably lose the ability to fight.
That won’t do.
The opponent hasn’t been beaten yet.
Hydreigon turned its weak gaze toward its Trainer on the other side, only to find him simply watching it sternly, right hand clenched in a fist over his chest.
This is...
That gesture...
It suddenly felt an invisible hand lightly thump its own chest; immediately after, its heart began to pound violently, faster and faster, like war drums, sweeping the haze from its brain in an instant.
By its ear, the Trainer’s shout erupted:
"—Dragon Dive!"
"—Saha-saa!"
Hydreigon’s eyes flared wide with fury, azure Dragon Flame exploded across its body, gradually taking form as a ferocious three-headed Flaming Giant Dragon, a terrifying killing aura crashing down!
Rumble!
On the ground, Flygon felt the invisible pressure from above; the massive fireball of Dragon Attribute Energy gathering in front of it could no longer hold, and it blasted upward!
Roar!
The Dragon Flame surged into an Energy Flying Dragon that roared as it flew, its blazing Double Wings slowly spreading. Wherever it passed, the air twisted and detonated again and again, proclaiming its fearsome power.
High in the sky.
The three-headed Flaming Giant Dragon showed not a trace of fear toward that display, bellowing as it dove down!
Boom!
The collision of the two unleashed a thunderous blast!
Yet these two Flaming Giant Dragons, similar in origin yet different, did not trigger an instant explosion; instead, they fell into a deadlock where one waxed as the other waned.
This only made the onlookers more and more tense, not daring to so much as breathe.
And Baimu and Genji, as Trainers, were as taut as if they themselves were trading blows inside the field, bodies rigid, eyes not leaving the clash for even a heartbeat.
In unison, they shouted:
"It’s not over yet! Charge up/down!!"
"Lai-ooo!!"
"Saha-saa!!"
Flygon’s serpentine neck shrank back then thrust forward again, its surging Dragon Flame swelling out in a ring.
The Dragon Flame cloaking Hydreigon’s body expanded as well, the already sharp outline of the three-headed Flaming Giant Dragon becoming even more vivid, almost alive!
Both sides were already fighting with everything they had!
Victory and defeat would be decided in this single clash!
However, Hydreigon had been forced to endure three Meteor Light Arrows; its condition was ultimately too poor. Waves of weakness surged in layers, its eyelids heavy, nearly closing.
In that fierce struggle, it was gradually being forced upward bit by bit, revealing a trend of flagging strength.
Is it going to lose?
Baimu clenched his teeth, tightening the right fist pressed to the left side of his chest.
He remembered at the very beginning, when he asked Alice about Dragon’s Heart, using Hydreigon to gauge his learning progress—though later, Dragon’s Heart inexplicably turned into Divine Heart.
But one thing had never changed.
From start to finish, his heart and Hydreigon’s had been tightly bound together, needing no Key Stone or Super Stone, no Special Ability at all.
His dragon—
was his Dragon’s Heart!
"Charge down!! Turn the desperate tide!!"
Baimu’s eyes suddenly flushed with a shocking blood-red.
Thump!
Hydreigon’s scarlet eyes flew open, a mighty Mond Will bursting forth from them like blazing blood-red stars!
In that instant.
The three-headed Flaming Giant Dragon formed from Dragon Flame stopped resisting the incoming Dragon’s Pulse. Instead, under the stunned, trembling gazes of everyone present, it began swallowing it down, bite by bite!
As if to claim all that energy for itself!
The earth shuddered, wild winds howled, and the three-headed Flaming Giant Dragon swelled at a speed visible to the naked eye. By the time the crowd snapped back to their senses, it had already become a colossal monster that blotted out the sky!
Rumble!
Dragon Flames of crimson, indigo, and azure burned furiously, the surrounding sky darkening, as though even the light had been stolen away.
The Meteor People were already beyond words, hastily retreating further back.
Genji’s gaze was locked on the field, silent.
And within the arena.
Flygon gazed up at this terrifying presence looming right before it, its will to resist utterly gone, leaving only a sigh of regret.
It triumphed by will, and fell by will.
It did not lose unjustly.
Flygon slowly closed its eyes, silently accepting its fate as its emerald-green body was engulfed by the collapsing three-headed Flaming Giant Dragon.
Boom boom boom——!!
The ultimate flash of light became the only color in the world.
A shockwave like a towering wall shattered the ground, sweeping up countless fragments that roared across the battlefield and far beyond.
A terrifying mushroom cloud rose, tangled with lingering Dragon Flame, countless wild bolts of lightning raging across its surface.
What a horrifying sight!
The Meteor People, relieved they had fled fast enough, exhaled, then turned their worried eyes inward.
Spectators could run; Trainers could not.
Under such a terrifying aftershock, what would become of Heavenly King Genji and Baimu?
What was the outcome?
Flygon surely couldn’t have held on after that!
After a short while.
The oppressive mushroom cloud slowly dispersed.
Sunlight pierced the smoke like shafts of radiance, spilling over the ruined battlefield and illuminating two overlapping dragon silhouettes within.
Silence fell over all creation.
"Saa..."
Hydreigon slowly flapped its fin-like wings, rising from the limp body of Flygon, its eyes still burning with unextinguished scarlet.
The next moment.
"Saha-saa——!!"
Its immense roar thundered like Lei across the world.
Hydreigon lifted its head in proud defiance, embodying its fierce will to charge ever forward and claim the summit, and let loose a victorious bellow!
All around, Dragon-type Pokémon were swept up in its fervor, raising their heads to howl in response.
For a time.
The entire village, the entire plain, and even the whole of Meteor Falls resounded with the cries of dragons, as though ten thousand dragons were cheering in their domain!
Celebrating the victory of the strong!
