Chapter 334: Flying Car from Beyond the Skies

The video continued playing.

Another large stretch of time passed, and Aurelia and Selene were now twelve years old.

Aurelia spent most of her time at Saffron Gym. Her daily routine consisted of training and occasionally helping Sabrina handle Gym affairs.

Selene, meanwhile, ran all over the world.

One day she’d fly to Kalos to negotiate a technology licensing agreement, the next she’d head to Paldea to inspect rare mineral deposits, and the day after that she’d be back in Saffron City cutting the ribbon at a newly opened flagship store.

She was practically in a different city every day. She didn’t even bother unpacking her suitcase anymore—she simply dragged it around the world with her.

Selene called home every day.

But Aurelia was often too busy with training or Gym work to answer.

So Selene got smarter.

She simply started calling in the middle of the night.

At two-thirty in the morning that day, Aurelia had just finished another round of psychic-control training and was sitting on a bench beside the training field wiping away her sweat when her communicator suddenly vibrated.

The screen lit up.

The caller ID read—"Your World’s Number-One Cutest, Most Beautiful, Unparalleled Genius CEO Little Sister"

Aurelia accepted the call.

Selene’s face immediately appeared on the screen.

"Big Sis! I knew you weren’t asleep yet! I knew calling at this hour would definitely catch you!"

Aurelia rubbed her temple.

"...What region are you in now?"

"I’m in Paldea! I just got off the plane!"

Selene practically glowed with excitement through the screen.

"I’m telling you, they have so many products with huge potential here! I tried this spicy Pokémon snack they make, and I nearly breathed fire on the spot!"

"But then I immediately realized—this stuff could sell like crazy!"

"So you got carried away and invested in them again?"

"Nope."

"I bought the company outright!"

Aurelia pressed a hand to her forehead.

"...All right. You’re impressive."

"Hehe! Nothing special—just third-best in the world!"

Selene made a face at the camera.

"Oh, right! I also signed a strategic partnership agreement with a research institute!"

"They agreed to provide me with three customized Psychic training systems, so I told them to deliver them straight to the Gym!"

"Well? Are you touched?"

Aurelia paused.

"You ordered them specifically for me?"

"Of course!"

"That old equipment at the Gym is practically falling apart. How could I, your little sister, just pretend not to notice?"

"And I told them the first unit absolutely has to be their best!"

"If they dare try to fool me with some defective junk, I’ll buy their company tomorrow!"

The corners of Aurelia’s lips rose slightly, though her voice remained as calm as ever.

"...Make sure you rest properly while you’re traveling."

"And eat your meals on time."

"Hehe, I know!"

"Oh, right, Big Sis! I still have three meetings to attend, so I have to go!"

"Get some rest early!"

"Ciallo~ (∠?ω< )⌒★"

Selene rattled off the entire sentence at lightning speed before abruptly ending the call with a click.

Only the dial tone remained.

"Running around like that every day..."

"Doesn’t she ever get tired?"

Aurelia lowered her gaze toward the now-dark screen.

Then she looked out the window, seemingly lost in thought.

Just then a voice suddenly came from behind her.

"Jealous?"

Aurelia’s entire body stiffened.

She turned around.

At some point, Asher had appeared at the entrance to the training field, leaning against the doorframe with a steaming cup in his hand.

"Dad?"

"Why are you still awake?"

"Your mom just fell asleep. I..."

Asher leisurely walked over.

"Came out for some air."

He held the cup out to Aurelia.

"Hot chocolate"

"Temperature’s just right."

Aurelia accepted it and took small sips.

"You’re just like your mom."

Asher sat beside her.

"Whenever something’s bothering you, you keep it buried inside and work through it by yourself."

"But, sweetheart, your dad doesn’t just know magic."

"I can read people’s minds too."

"I wasn’t deliberately keeping anything bottled up."

Aurelia tightened her hands slightly around the cup.

"It’s just..."

"Selene has her own goal."

"She’s happy every day."

"But I don’t know what I want to do."

"Isn’t that simple?"

Asher smiled.

"Go out and see the world."

"Eventually, you’ll figure out what you want."

Aurelia looked up and met Asher’s golden eyes.

"But..."

Asher reached over and ruffled her hair.

"No buts."

"Starting tomorrow, go wherever you want."

"If you run short on money, use your Uncle Steven’s black card."

Aurelia froze.

"Isn’t that Selene’s card?"

"That’s a card Steven gave me."

Asher shrugged.

"Selene just took it and started using it."

"She isn’t short on money anymore anyway, so you can spend on it instead."

Aurelia: "..."

[VIP Chat Group]

[Flint]: Steven’s black card—the livestream’s officially designated strategic partner. From Episode One all the way to Episode Six, never absent, never overdue.

[Volkner]: A black card is forever. One card passed down through the ages. Conclusion: Steven has financially supported at least half of Asher’s parallel-world incarnations.

[May]: But isn’t Selene already really rich? She can casually buy entire companies now. She probably doesn’t spend that much of Mr. Steven’s money anymore, right?

[Raihan]: Then take a guess where her first batch of startup capital came from.

[Leon]: I’m more curious about what the spending limit on that black card actually is. How can they use it this casually?

[Diantha]: A black card like that probably doesn’t have a fixed limit. Devon Corporation likely settles the bill automatically.

[Wallace]: At this rate, Steven is eventually going to turn Devon Corporation into the "Devon Charitable Foundation."

[Steven]: ...I’ve decided I’m no longer interacting with any of you in this group. Your misunderstandings about me run far too deep.

[Raihan]: Don’t leave, Steven! If you go, who are we supposed to laugh at?!

The video continued playing.

Early the next morning.

Outside Saffron Gym.

Aurelia stood in front of the entrance with a small bag on her back.

Sabrina stood beside her, carefully zipping the bag back up for her.

Just then a powerful scream came from the sky.

"BIG SIS!"

Selene was flying toward them from above.

More precisely—

She was sitting in a pale-pink convertible supercar, using psychic power to wrap both herself and the entire vehicle as they flew through the air.

"Selene!"

Aurelia’s eyes widened in disbelief.

"Why are you coming from the sky?!"

"Because there was a traffic jam!"

Selene answered as though it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"I was in a hurry to get back, so I had no choice but to use the legendary secret art—Flying Car from Beyond the Skies!"

After jumping out of the car, Selene pulled a small box from her bag and pushed it into Aurelia’s hands.

"Big Sis, here!"

"This is for you."

Aurelia opened the lid.

Inside lay a pristine Dawn Stone, glowing softly.

"I asked tons of people before I finally managed to buy this from an old miner."

Selene proudly patted her chest.

"Your Kirlia hasn’t evolved all this time because it was waiting for this, right?"

A small smile appeared on Aurelia’s face.

She reached over and rubbed Selene’s head.

"Mm."

"Then I’ll gladly accept it."

Selene mumbled in protest.

"Big Sis, I’m a CEO!"

"You can’t just casually pat a CEO on the head!"

Asher walked out of the Gym carrying two paper bags.

He handed one to each daughter.

"Here."

"One bag each."

"Take them with you and eat on the road."

Sabrina reached out and gently straightened the loose strands of hair over Aurelia’s forehead.

"Be careful on your journey."

"If anyone causes you trouble..."

"Just turn them into a doll."

Behind her, Selene enthusiastically waved a little flag.

"Bye-bye, Big Sis!"

"Remember to take lots of pictures and send them to the group!"

"If they look good, I’ll turn them into merchandise and sell them!"
